Qaloo ya shuAAaybu asalatukata/muruka an natruka ma yaAAbudu abaonaaw an nafAAala fee amwalina ma nashaoinnaka laanta alhaleemu alrrasheedu قالوا يا شعيب أصلاتك تأمرك أن نترك ما يعبد آباؤنا أو أن نفعل في أموالنا ما نشاء إنك لأنت الحليم الرشيد
قَالُواْ يَا شُعَيْبُ أَصَلاَتُكَ تَأْمُرُكَ أَن نَّتْرُكَ مَا يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُنَا أَوْ أَن نَّفْعَلَ فِي أَمْوَالِنَا مَا نَشَاءُ إِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ الْحَلِيمُ الرَّشِيدُ

  وہ بولے! اے شعیب! کیا تمہاری نماز تمہیں یہی حکم دیتی ہے کہ ہم ان (معبودوں) کو چھوڑ دیں جن کی پرستش ہمارے باپ دادا کرتے رہے ہیں یا یہ کہ ہم جو کچھ اپنے اموال کے بارے میں چاہیں (نہ) کریں؟ بیشک تم ہی (ایک) بڑے تحمل والے ہدایت یافتہ (رہ گئے) ہو

Yousuf AliThey said: "O Shu'aib! Does thy (religion of) prayer command thee that we leave off the worship which our fathers practised, or that we leave off doing what we like with our property? truly, thou art the one that forbeareth with faults and is right-minded!"

Ahmed Aliانہوں نے کہا اے شعیب کیا تیری نماز تجھے یہی حکم دیتی ہے کہ ہم ان چیزوں کو چھوڑ دیں جنہیں ہمارے باپ باپ دادا پوجتے تھے یا اپنے مالوں میں اپنی خواہش کے مطابق معاملہ نہ کریں بے شک تو البتہ بردبار نیک چلن ہے

Shabbir Ahmed اُنہوں نے کہا، اے شعیب! کیا تیری نماز تجھے حکم دیتی ہے کہ ہم (پوجنا) چھوڑ دیں انہیں جن کو پوجا کرتے تھے ہمارے آبا و اجداد یا (نہ) کریں ہم اپنے مالوں میں وہ تصرُّف جو ہم چاہتے ہیں۔؟ بس تم ہی تو رہ گئے ہو بُردبار اور نیک چلن آدمی۔

Abul Ala Maududiانہوں نے جواب دیا "اے شعیبؑ، کیا تیری نماز تجھے یہ سکھاتی ہے کہ ہم ان سارے معبودوں کو چھوڑ دیں جن کی پر ستش ہمارے باپ دادا کرتے تھے؟ یا یہ کہ ہم کو اپنے مال میں اپنے منشا کے مطابق تصرف کرنے کا اختیار نہ ہو؟ بس تو ہی تو ایک عالی ظرف اور راستباز آدمی رہ گیا ہے!"

Arberry They said, 'Shuaib, does thy prayer command thee that we should leave that our fathers served, or to do as we will with our goods? Thou art the clement one, the right-minded.'
ShakirThey said: O Shu'aib! does your prayer enjoin you that we should forsake what our fathers worshipped or that we should not do what we please with regard to our property? Forsooth you are the forbearing, the right-directing one.
SarwarThey asked him, "Shu'ayb, do your prayers tell you that we must give up the worship of what our fathers had worshipped and that we must not deal with our properties as we like? We still believe that you are a person of forbearance and understanding."

George SaleThey answered, O Shoaib, do thy prayers injoin thee, that we should leave the gods which our fathers worshipped; or that we should not do what we please with our substance? Thou only, it seems, art the wise person, and fit to direct.

Does your Salat (prayer) (i.e. the prayers which you offer has spoiled your mind, so you) command that we leave off what our fathers used to worship, or that we leave off doing what we like with our property? Verily, you are the forbearer, right-minded!" (They said this sarcastically).
QXP Shabbir Ahemd**They said, "O Shoaib! (We had thought that your religion was only a matter between you and your Lord). Does your Salat command that we should forsake the worship that our fathers practiced? Or, that we leave off doing what we like to do with our economy? Behold, you want us to think that you are the only clement, and the rightly guided man among us."
