Ith qaloo layoosufu waakhoohu ahabbuila abeena minna wanahnu AAusbatuninna abana lafee dalalin mubeenin إذ قالوا ليوسف وأخوه أحب إلى أبينا منا ونحن عصبة إن أبانا لفي ضلال مبين
إِذْ قَالُواْ لَيُوسُفُ وَأَخُوهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَى أَبِينَا مِنَّا وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ إِنَّ أَبَانَا لَفِي ضَلاَلٍ مُّبِينٍ

  (وہ وقت یاد کیجئے) جب یوسف (علیہ السلام) کے بھائیوں نے کہا کہ واقعی یوسف (علیہ السلام) اور اس کا بھائی ہمارے باپ کو ہم سے زیادہ محبوب ہیں حالانکہ ہم (دس افراد پر مشتمل) زیادہ قوی جماعت ہیں۔ بیشک ہمارے والد (ان کی محبت کی) کھلی وارفتگی میں گم ہیں

Ahmed Aliجب انہوں نے کہا البتہ یوسف اور اس کا بھائی ہمارے باپ کو ہم سے زیادہ پیارا ہے حالانکہ ہم طاقتور جماعت ہیں بے شک ہمارا باپ صریح غلطی پر ہے

Abul Ala Maududiیہ قصہ یوں شروع ہوتا ہے کہ اس کے بھائیوں نے آپس میں کہا "یہ یوسفؑ اور اس کا بھائی، دونوں ہمارے والد کو ہم سب سے زیادہ محبوب ہیں حالانکہ ہم ایک پورا جتھا ہیں سچی بات یہ ہے کہ ہمارے ابا جان با لکل ہی بہک گئے ہیں
