| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [16:93] | Walaw shaa Allahu lajaAAalakumommatan wahidatan walakin yudillu man yashaowayahdee man yashao walatus-alunna AAamma kuntumtaAAmaloona |  ولو شاء الله لجعلكم أمة واحدة ولكن يضل من يشاء ويهدي من يشاء ولتسألن عما كنتم تعملونوَلَوْ شَاءَ اللّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ وَلَتُسْأَلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو تم (سب) کو ایک ہی امت بنا دیتا لیکن وہ جسے چاہتا ہے گمراہ ٹھہرا دیتا ہے اور جسے چاہتا ہے ہدایت فرما دیتا ہے، اور تم سے ان کاموں کی نسبت ضرور پوچھا جائے گا جو تم انجام دیا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases: but ye shall certainly be called to account for all your actions.

[16:91] | Waawfoo biAAahdi Allahi ithaAAahadtum wala tanqudoo al-aymanabaAAda tawkeediha waqad jaAAaltumu Allaha AAalaykumkafeelan inna Allaha yaAAlamu ma tafAAaloona | وأوفوا بعهد الله إذا عاهدتم ولا تنقضوا الأيمان بعد توكيدها وقد جعلتم الله عليكم كفيلا إن الله يعلم ما تفعلون وَأَوْفُواْ بِعَهْدِ اللّهِ إِذَا عَاهَدتُّمْ وَلاَ تَنقُضُواْ الْأَيْمَانَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ اللّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلاً إِنَّ اللّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم اللہ کا عہد پورا کر دیا کرو جب تم عہد کرو اور قسموں کو پختہ کر لینے کے بعد انہیں مت توڑا کرو حالانکہ تم اللہ کو اپنے آپ پر ضامن بنا چکے ہو، بیشک اللہ خوب جانتا ہے جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Fulfil the Covenant of Allah when ye have entered into it, and break not your oaths after ye have confirmed them; indeed ye have made Allah your surety; for Allah knoweth all that ye do.

[16:95] | Wala tashtaroo biAAahdi Allahithamanan qaleelan innama AAinda Allahi huwa khayrunlakum in kuntum taAAlamoona | ولا تشتروا بعهد الله ثمنا قليلا إنما عند الله هو خير لكم إن كنتم تعلمون وَلاَ تَشْتَرُواْ بِعَهْدِ اللّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلاً إِنَّمَا عِندَ اللّهِ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ کے عہد حقیر سی قیمت (یعنی دنیوی مال و دولت) کے عوض مت بیچ ڈالا کرو، بیشک جو (اجر) اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ تمہارے لئے بہتر ہے اگر تم (اس راز کو) جانتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nor sell the covenant of Allah for a miserable price: for with Allah is (a prize) far better for you, if ye only knew.

[16:92] | Wala takoonoo kaallatee naqadatghazlaha min baAAdi quwwatin ankathan tattakhithoonaaymanakum dakhalan baynakum an takoona ommatun hiya arbamin ommatin innama yablookumu Allahu bihiwalayubayyinanna lakum yawma alqiyamati ma kuntumfeehi takhtalifoona | ولا تكونوا كالتي نقضت غزلها من بعد قوة أنكاثا تتخذون أيمانكم دخلا بينكم أن تكون أمة هي أربى من أمة إنما يبلوكم الله به وليبينن لكم يوم القيامة ما كنتم فيه تختلفون وَلاَ تَكُونُواْ كَالَّتِي نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِن بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَاثًا تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيْمَانَكُمْ دَخَلاً بَيْنَكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِيَ أَرْبَى مِنْ أُمَّةٍ إِنَّمَا يَبْلُوكُمُ اللّهُ بِهِ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس عورت کی طرح نہ ہو جاؤ جس نے اپنا سوت مضبوط کات لینے کے بعد توڑ کر ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر ڈالا، تم اپنی قَسموں کو اپنے درمیان فریب کاری کا ذریعہ بناتے ہو تاکہ (اس طرح) ایک گروہ دوسرے گروہ سے زیادہ فائدہ اٹھانے والا ہو جائے، بات یہ ہے کہ اللہ (بھی) تمہیں اسی کے ذریعہ آزماتا ہے، اور وہ تمہارے لئے قیامت کے دن ان باتوں کو ضرور واضح فرما دے گا جن میں تم اختلاف کیا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And be not like a woman who breaks into untwisted strands the yarn which she has spun, after it has become strong. Nor take your oaths to practise deception between yourselves, lest one party should be more numerous than another: for Allah will test you by this; and on the Day of Judgment He will certainly make clear to you (the truth of) that wherein ye disagree.

[16:94] | Wala tattakhithoo aymanakumdakhalan baynakum fatazilla qadamun baAAda thubootiha watathooqooalssoo-a bima sadadtum AAan sabeeli Allahiwalakum AAathabun AAatheemun | ولا تتخذوا أيمانكم دخلا بينكم فتزل قدم بعد ثبوتها وتذوقوا السوء بما صددتم عن سبيل الله ولكم عذاب عظيم وَلاَ تَتَّخِذُواْ أَيْمَانَكُمْ دَخَلاً بَيْنَكُمْ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُواْ الْسُّوءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمْ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَلَكُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم اپنی قَسموں کو آپس میں فریب کاری کا ذریعہ نہ بنایا کرو ورنہ قدم (اسلام پر) جم جانے کے بعد لڑکھڑا جائے گا اور تم اس وجہ سے کہ اللہ کی راہ سے روکتے تھے برے انجام کا مزہ چکھو گے، اور تمہارے لئے زبردست عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And take not your oaths, to practise deception between yourselves, with the result that someone's foot may slip after it was firmly planted, and ye may have to taste the evil (consequences) of having hindered (men) from the Path of Allah, and a Mighty Wrath descend on you.

[16:96] | Ma AAindakum yanfadu wamaAAinda Allahi baqin walanajziyanna allatheenasabaroo ajrahum bi-ahsani ma kanooyaAAmaloona | ما عندكم ينفد وما عند الله باق ولنجزين الذين صبروا أجرهم بأحسن ما كانوا يعملون مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ وَمَا عِندَ اللّهِ بَاقٍ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو (مال و زر) تمہارے پاس ہے فنا ہو جائے گا اور جو اللہ کے پاس ہے باقی رہنے والا ہے، اور ہم ان لوگوں کو جنہوں نے صبر کیا ضرور ان کا اجر عطا فرمائیں گے ان کے اچھے اعمال کے عوض جو وہ انجام دیتے رہے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | What is with you must vanish: what is with Allah will endure. And We will certainly bestow, on those who patiently persevere, their reward according to the best of their actions.

[16:97] | Man AAamila salihan min thakarinaw ontha wahuwa mu/minun falanuhyiyannahu hayatantayyibatan walanajziyannahum ajrahum bi-ahsani makanoo yaAAmaloona | من عمل صالحا من ذكر أو أنثى وهو مؤمن فلنحيينه حياة طيبة ولنجزينهم أجرهم بأحسن ما كانوا يعملون مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَى وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو کوئی نیک عمل کرے (خواہ) مرد ہو یا عورت جبکہ وہ مومن ہو تو ہم اسے ضرور پاکیزہ زندگی کے ساتھ زندہ رکھیں گے، اور انہیں ضرور ان کا اجر (بھی) عطا فرمائیں گے ان اچھے اعمال کے عوض جو وہ انجام دیتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has Faith, verily, to him will We give a new Life, a life that is good and pure and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.

| 8. [16:98] | Fa-itha qara/ta alqur-ana faistaAAithbiAllahi mina alshshaytani alrrajeemi | فإذا قرأت القرآن فاستعذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو جب آپ قرآن پڑھنے لگیں تو شیطان مردود (کی وسوسہ اندازیوں) سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگ لیا کریں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When thou dost read the Qur'an, seek Allah's protection from Satan the rejected one.

| Words | |فإذا - So when| قرأت - you recite| القرآن - the Quran,| فاستعذ - seek refuge| بالله - in Allah| من - from| الشيطان - the Shaitaan,| الرجيم - the accursed.| | ||||||
| 9. [16:99] | Innahu laysa lahu sultanun AAalaallatheena amanoo waAAala rabbihimyatawakkaloona | إنه ليس له سلطان على الذين آمنوا وعلى ربهم يتوكلون إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ سُلْطَانٌ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک اسے ان لوگوں پر کچھ (بھی) غلبہ حاصل نہیں ہے جو ایمان لائے اور اپنے رب پر توکل کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | No authority has he over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.

| Words | |إنه - Indeed he,| ليس - not| له - for him| سلطان - (is) any authority| على - on| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believe| وعلى - and upon| ربهم - their Lord| يتوكلون - they put their trust.| | ||||||
| 10. [16:100] | Innama sultanuhu AAalaallatheena yatawallawnahu waallatheena humbihi mushrikoona | إنما سلطانه على الذين يتولونه والذين هم به مشركون إِنَّمَا سُلْطَانُهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُ وَالَّذِينَ هُم بِهِ مُشْرِكُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بس اس کا غلبہ صرف انہی لوگوں پر ہے جو اسے دوست بناتے ہیں اور جو اللہ کے ساتھ شرک کرنے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | His authority is over those only, who take him as patron and who join partners with Allah.

[16:101] | Wa-itha baddalna ayatanmakana ayatin waAllahu aAAlamu bimayunazzilu qaloo innama anta muftarin bal aktharuhumla yaAAlamoona | وإذا بدلنا آية مكان آية والله أعلم بما ينزل قالوا إنما أنت مفتر بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَا آيَةً مَّكَانَ آيَةٍ وَاللّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُواْ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ہم کسی آیت کی جگہ دوسری آیت بدل دیتے ہیں اور اللہ (ہی) بہتر جانتا ہے جو (کچھ) وہ نازل فرماتا ہے (تو) کفار کہتے ہیں کہ آپ تو بس اپنی طرف سے گھڑنے والے ہیں، بلکہ ان میں سے اکثر لوگ (آیتوں کے اتارنے اور بدلنے کی حکمت) نہیں جانتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When We substitute one revelation for another,- and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages),- they say, "Thou art but a forger": but most of them understand not.

| Words | |وإذا - And when| بدلنا - We substitute| آية - a Verse| مكان - (in) place| آية - (of) a Verse,| والله - and Allah -| أعلم - (is) most knowing| بما - of what| ينزل - He sends down| قالوا - they say,| إنما - "Only| أنت - you| مفتر - (are) an inventor."| بل - Nay,| أكثرهم - most of them| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know.| | ||||||

[16:102] | Qul nazzalahu roohu alqudusi minrabbika bialhaqqi liyuthabbita allatheena amanoowahudan wabushra lilmuslimeena | قل نزله روح القدس من ربك بالحق ليثبت الذين آمنوا وهدى وبشرى للمسلمين قُلْ نَزَّلَهُ رُوحُ الْقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِالْحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | فرما دیجئے: اس (قرآن) کو روحُ القدس (جبرئیل علیہ السلام) نے آپ کے رب کی طرف سے سچائی کے ساتھ اتارا ہے تاکہ ایمان والوں کو ثابت قدم رکھے اور (یہ) مسلمانوں کے لئے ہدایت اور بشارت ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say, the Holy Spirit has brought the revelation from thy Lord in Truth, in order to strengthen those who believe, and as a Guide and Glad Tidings to Muslims.

[16:103] | Walaqad naAAlamu annahum yaqooloona innamayuAAallimuhu basharun lisanu allathee yulhidoonailayhi aAAjamiyyun wahatha lisanun AAarabiyyunmubeenun | ولقد نعلم أنهم يقولون إنما يعلمه بشر لسان الذي يلحدون إليه أعجمي وهذا لسان عربي مبين وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُ بَشَرٌ لِّسَانُ الَّذِي يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِيٌّ وَهَـذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِيٌّ مُّبِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم جانتے ہیں کہ وہ (کفار و مشرکین) کہتے ہیں کہ انہیں یہ (قرآن) محض کوئی آدمی ہی سکھاتا ہے، جس شخص کی طرف وہ بات کو حق سے ہٹاتے ہوئے منسوب کرتے ہیں اس کی زبان عجمی ہے اور یہ قرآن واضح و روشن عربی زبان (میں) ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We know indeed that they say, "It is a man that teaches him." The tongue of him they wickedly point to is notably foreign, while this is Arabic, pure and clear.

| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| نعلم - We know| أنهم - that they| يقولون - say,| إنما - "Only| يعلمه - teaches him| بشر - a human being."| لسان - (The) tongue| الذي - (of) the one| يلحدون - they refer| إليه - to him| أعجمي - (is) foreign| وهذا - while this| لسان - (is) a language| عربي - Arabic| مبين - clear.| | ||||||
| 14. [16:104] | Inna allatheena la yu/minoonabi-ayati Allahi la yahdeehimu Allahuwalahum AAathabun aleemun | إن الذين لا يؤمنون بآيات الله لا يهديهم الله ولهم عذاب أليم إِنَّ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ لاَ يَهْدِيهِمُ اللّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جو لوگ اللہ کی آیتوں پر ایمان نہیں لاتے اللہ انہیں ہدایت (یعنی صحیح فہم و بصیرت کی توفیق بھی) نہیں دیتا اور ان کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who believe not in the Signs of Allah,- Allah will not guide them, and theirs will be a grievous Penalty.

| 15. [16:105] | Innama yaftaree alkathibaallatheena la yu/minoona bi-ayati Allahiwaola-ika humu alkathiboona | إنما يفتري الكذب الذين لا يؤمنون بآيات الله وأولئك هم الكاذبون إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِي الْكَذِبَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللّهِ وَأُوْلـئِكَ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جھوٹی افترا پردازی (بھی) وہی لوگ کرتے ہیں جو اللہ کی آیتوں پر ایمان نہیں لاتے اور وہی لوگ جھوٹے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is those who believe not in the Signs of Allah, that forge falsehood: it is they who lie!

[16:106] | Man kafara biAllahi minbaAAdi eemanihi illa man okriha waqalbuhu mutma-innunbial-eemani walakin man sharaha bialkufrisadran faAAalayhim ghadabun mina Allahiwalahum AAathabun AAatheemun | من كفر بالله من بعد إيمانه إلا من أكره وقلبه مطمئن بالإيمان ولكن من شرح بالكفر صدرا فعليهم غضب من الله ولهم عذاب عظيم مَن كَفَرَ بِاللّهِ مِن بَعْدِ إيمَانِهِ إِلاَّ مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُ مُطْمَئِنٌّ بِالْإِيمَانِ وَلَـكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِالْكُفْرِ صَدْرًا فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ مِّنَ اللّهِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو شخص اپنے ایمان لانے کے بعد کفر کرے، سوائے اس کے جسے انتہائی مجبور کر دیا گیا مگر اس کا دل (بدستور) ایمان سے مطمئن ہے، لیکن (ہاں) وہ شخص جس نے (دوبارہ) شرحِ صدر کے ساتھ کفر (اختیار) کیا سو ان پر اللہ کی طرف سے غضب ہے اور ان کے لئے زبردست عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty.

[16:107] | Thalika bi-annahumu istahabbooalhayata alddunya AAala al-akhiratiwaanna Allaha la yahdee alqawma alkafireena | ذلك بأنهم استحبوا الحياة الدنيا على الآخرة وأن الله لا يهدي القوم الكافرين ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ اسْتَحَبُّواْ الْحَيَاةَ الْدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْآخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ اس وجہ سے کہ انہوں نے دنیوی زندگی کو آخرت پر عزیز رکھا اور اس لئے کہ اللہ کافروں کی قوم کو ہدایت نہیں فرماتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | This because they love the life of this world better than the Hereafter: and Allah will not guide those who reject Faith.

[16:108] | Ola-ika allatheena tabaAAaAllahu AAala quloobihim wasamAAihim waabsarihimwaola-ika humu alghafiloona | أولئك الذين طبع الله على قلوبهم وسمعهم وأبصارهم وأولئك هم الغافلون أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ طَبَعَ اللّهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَارِهِمْ وَأُولَـئِكَ هُمُ الْغَافِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ وہ لوگ ہیں کہ اللہ نے ان کے دلوں پر اور ان کے کانوں پر اور ان کی آنکھوں پر مُہر لگا دی ہے اور یہی لوگ ہی (آخرت کے انجام سے) غافل ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those are they whose hearts, ears, and eyes Allah has sealed up, and they take no heed.

| 19. [16:109] | La jarama annahum fee al-akhiratihumu alkhasiroona | لا جرم أنهم في الآخرة هم الخاسرون لاَ جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ هُمُ الْخَاسِرونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ حقیقت ہے کہ بیشک یہی لوگ آخرت میں خسارہ اٹھانے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Without doubt, in the Hereafter they will perish.

[16:110] | Thumma inna rabbaka lillatheena hajaroomin baAAdi ma futinoo thumma jahadoo wasabarooinna rabbaka min baAAdiha laghafoorun raheemun | ثم إن ربك للذين هاجروا من بعد ما فتنوا ثم جاهدوا وصبروا إن ربك من بعدها لغفور رحيم ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُواْ مِن بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُواْ ثُمَّ جَاهَدُواْ وَصَبَرُواْ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِن بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر آپ کا رب ان لوگوں کے لئے جنہوں نے آزمائشوں (اور تکلیفوں) میں مبتلا کئے جانے کے بعد ہجرت کی (یعنی اللہ کے لئے اپنے وطن چھوڑ دیئے) پھر جہاد کئے اور (پریشانیوں پر) صبر کئے تو (اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) آپ کا رب اس کے بعد بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But verily thy Lord,- to those who leave their homes after trials and persecutions,- and who thereafter strive and fight for the faith and patiently persevere,- Thy Lord, after all this is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

[16:111] | Yawma ta/tee kullu nafsin tujadiluAAan nafsiha watuwaffa kullu nafsin maAAamilat wahum la yuthlamoona | يوم تأتي كل نفس تجادل عن نفسها وتوفى كل نفس ما عملت وهم لا يظلمون يَوْمَ تَأْتِي كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجَادِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفَّى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ دن (یاد کریں) جب ہر شخص محض اپنی جان کی طرف سے (دفاع کے لئے) جھگڑتا ہوا حاضر ہوگا اور ہر جان کو جو کچھ اس نے کیا ہوگا اس کا پورا پورا بدلہ دیا جائے گا اور ان پر کوئی ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | One Day every soul will come up struggling for itself, and every soul will be recompensed (fully) for all its actions, and none will be unjustly dealt with.

[16:112] | Wadaraba Allahu mathalanqaryatan kanat aminatan mutma-innatanya/teeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makaninfakafarat bi-anAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahulibasa aljooAAi waalkhawfi bima kanooyasnaAAoona | وضرب الله مثلا قرية كانت آمنة مطمئنة يأتيها رزقها رغدا من كل مكان فكفرت بأنعم الله فأذاقها الله لباس الجوع والخوف بما كانوا يصنعون وَضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ آمِنَةً مُّطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ اللّهِ فَأَذَاقَهَا اللّهُ لِبَاسَ الْجُوعِ وَالْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصْنَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے ایک ایسی بستی کی مثال بیان فرمائی ہے جو (بڑے) امن اور اطمینان سے (آباد) تھی اس کا رزق اس کے (مکینوں کے) پاس ہر طرف سے بڑی وسعت و فراغت کے ساتھ آتا تھا پھر اس بستی (والوں) نے اللہ کی نعمتوں کی ناشکری کی تو اللہ نے اسے بھوک اور خوف کے عذاب کا لباس پہنا دیا ان اعمال کے سبب سے جو وہ کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Allah sets forth a Parable: a city enjoying security and quiet, abundantly supplied with sustenance from every place: Yet was it ungrateful for the favours of Allah: so Allah made it taste of hunger and terror (in extremes) (closing in on it) like a garment (from every side), because of the (evil) which (its people) wrought.

| 23. [16:113] | Walaqad jaahum rasoolun minhum fakaththaboohufaakhathahumu alAAathabu wahum thalimoona | ولقد جاءهم رسول منهم فكذبوه فأخذهم العذاب وهم ظالمون وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ان کے پاس انہی میں سے ایک رسول آیا تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلایا پس انہیں عذاب نے آپکڑا اور وہ ظالم ہی تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And there came to them a Messenger from among themselves, but they falsely rejected him; so the Wrath seized them even in the midst of their iniquities.

[16:114] | Fakuloo mimma razaqakumu Allahuhalalan tayyiban waoshkuroo niAAmataAllahi in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona | فكلوا مما رزقكم الله حلالا طيبا واشكروا نعمت الله إن كنتم إياه تعبدون فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللّهُ حَلاَلاً طَيِّبًا وَاشْكُرُواْ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس جو حلال اور پاکیزہ رزق تمہیں اللہ نے بخشا ہے، تم اس میں سے کھایا کرو اور اللہ کی نعمت کا شکر بجا لاتے رہو اگر تم اسی کی عبادت کرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So eat of the sustenance which Allah has provided for you, lawful and good; and be grateful for the favours of Allah, if it is He Whom ye serve.

[16:115] | Innama harrama AAalaykumualmaytata waalddama walahma alkhinzeeri wamaohilla lighayri Allahi bihi famani idturra ghayra baghinwala AAadin fa-inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun | إنما حرم عليكم الميتة والدم ولحم الخنزير وما أهل لغير الله به فمن اضطر غير باغ ولا عاد فإن الله غفور رحيم إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَيْتَةَ وَالْدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ الْخِنْزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ اللّهِ بِهِ فَمَنِ اضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلاَ عَادٍ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس نے تم پر صرف مردار اور خون اور خنزیر کا گوشت اور وہ (جانور) جس پر ذبح کرتے وقت غیر اللہ کا نام پکارا گیا ہو، حرام کیا ہے، پھر جو شخص حالتِ اضطرار (یعنی انتہائی مجبوری کی حالت) میں ہو، نہ (طلبِ لذت میں احکامِ الٰہی سے) سرکشی کرنے والا ہو اور نہ (مجبوری کی حد سے) تجاوز کرنے والا ہو، تو بیشک اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[16:116] | Wala taqooloo lima tasifualsinatukumu alkathiba hatha halalunwahatha haramun litaftaroo AAala Allahialkathiba inna allatheena yaftaroona AAalaAllahi alkathiba la yuflihoona | ولا تقولوا لما تصف ألسنتكم الكذب هذا حلال وهذا حرام لتفتروا على الله الكذب إن الذين يفترون على الله الكذب لا يفلحون وَلاَ تَقُولُواْ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ الْكَذِبَ هَـذَا حَلاَلٌ وَهَـذَا حَرَامٌ لِّتَفْتَرُواْ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ لاَ يُفْلِحُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ جھوٹ مت کہا کرو جو تمہاری زبانیں بیان کرتی رہتی ہیں کہ یہ حلال ہے اور یہ حرام ہے اس طرح کہ تم اللہ پر جھوٹا بہتان باندھو، بیشک جو لوگ اللہ پر جھوٹا بہتان باندھتے ہیں وہ (کبھی) فلاح نہیں پائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But say not - for any false thing that your tongues may put forth,- "This is lawful, and this is forbidden," so as to ascribe false things to Allah. For those who ascribe false things to Allah, will never prosper.

| Words | |ولا - And (do) not| تقولوا - say| لما - for that which| تصف - assert| ألسنتكم - your tongues,| الكذب - the lie,| هذا - "This| حلال - (is) lawful| وهذا - and this| حرام - (is) forbidden,"| لتفتروا - so that you invent| على - about| الله - Allah| الكذب - the lie.| إن - Indeed,| الذين - those who| يفترون - invent| على - about| الله - Allah| الكذب - the lie,| لا - they will not succeed.| يفلحون - they will not succeed.| | ||||||
| 27. [16:117] | MataAAun qaleelun walahum AAathabunaleemun | متاع قليل ولهم عذاب أليم مَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | فائدہ تھوڑا ہے مگر ان کے لئے عذاب (بڑا) دردناک ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (In such falsehood) is but a paltry profit; but they will have a most grievous Penalty.

| Words | |متاع - An enjoyment| قليل - little| ولهم - and for them| عذاب - (is) a punishment| أليم - painful.| | ||||||

[16:118] | WaAAala allatheena hadooharramna ma qasasnaAAalayka min qablu wama thalamnahumwalakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona | وعلى الذين هادوا حرمنا ما قصصنا عليك من قبل وما ظلمناهم ولكن كانوا أنفسهم يظلمون وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَـكِن كَانُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یہود پر ہم نے وہی چیزیں حرام کی تھیں جو ہم پہلے آپ سے بیان کر چکے ہیں اور ہم نے ان پر ظلم نہیں کیا تھا لیکن وہ خود اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کیا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | To the Jews We prohibited such things as We have mentioned to thee before: We did them no wrong, but they were used to doing wrong to themselves.

| Words | |وعلى - And to| الذين - those who| هادوا - are Jews| حرمنا - We have forbidden| ما - what| قصصنا - We related| عليك - to you| من - before.| قبل - before.| وما - And not| ظلمناهم - We wronged them| ولكن - but| كانوا - they used (to)| أنفسهم - themselves| يظلمون - wrong.| | ||||||
| 29. [16:120] | Inna ibraheema kana ommatan qanitanlillahi haneefan walam yaku mina almushrikeena | إن إبراهيم كان أمة قانتا لله حنيفا ولم يك من المشركين إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا لِّلّهِ حَنِيفًا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ابراہیم (علیہ السلام تنہا ذات میں) ایک اُمت تھے، اللہ کے بڑے فرمانبردار تھے، ہر باطل سے کنارہ کش (صرف اسی کی طرف یک سُو) تھے، اور مشرکوں میں سے نہ تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Abraham was indeed a model, devoutly obedient to Allah, (and) true in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah:

| 30. [16:121] | Shakiran li-anAAumihi ijtabahuwahadahu ila siratin mustaqeemin | شاكرا لأنعمه اجتباه وهداه إلى صراط مستقيم شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ اجْتَبَاهُ وَهَدَاهُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس (اللہ) کی نعمتوں پر شاکر تھے، اللہ نے انہیں چن (کر اپنی بارگاہ میں خاص برگزیدہ بنا) لیا اور انہیں سیدھی راہ کی طرف ہدایت فرما دی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He showed his gratitude for the favours of Allah, who chose him, and guided him to a Straight Way.
