| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [18:28] | Waisbir nafsaka maAAa allatheenayadAAoona rabbahum bialghadati waalAAashiyyiyureedoona wajhahu wala taAAdu AAaynaka AAanhumtureedu zeenata alhayati alddunya walatutiAA man aghfalna qalbahu AAan thikrinawaittabaAAa hawahu wakana amruhu furutan |  واصبر نفسك مع الذين يدعون ربهم بالغداة والعشي يريدون وجهه ولا تعد عيناك عنهم تريد زينة الحياة الدنيا ولا تطع من أغفلنا قلبه عن ذكرنا واتبع هواه وكان أمره فرطاوَاصْبِرْ نَفْسَكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُ وَلاَ تَعْدُ عَيْنَاكَ عَنْهُمْ تُرِيدُ زِينَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلاَ تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُ فُرُطًا | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے میرے بندے!) تو اپنے آپ کو ان لوگوں کی سنگت میں جمائے رکھا کر جو صبح و شام اپنے رب کو یاد کرتے ہیں اس کی رضا کے طلب گار رہتے ہیں (اس کی دید کے متمنی اور اس کا مکھڑا تکنے کے آرزو مند ہیں) تیری (محبت اور توجہ کی) نگاہیں ان سے نہ ہٹیں، کیا تو (ان فقیروں سے دھیان ہٹا کر) دنیوی زندگی کی آرائش چاہتا ہے، اور تو اس شخص کی اطاعت (بھی) نہ کر جس کے دل کو ہم نے اپنے ذکر سے غافل کردیا ہے اور وہ اپنی ہوائے نفس کی پیروی کرتا ہے اور اس کا حال حد سے گزر گیا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.

[18:29] | Waquli alhaqqu min rabbikum faman shaafalyu/min waman shaa falyakfur inna aAAtadnalilththalimeena naran ahatabihim suradiquha wa-in yastagheethoo yughathoobima-in kaalmuhli yashwee alwujooha bi/sa alshsharabuwasaat murtafaqan | وقل الحق من ربكم فمن شاء فليؤمن ومن شاء فليكفر إنا أعتدنا للظالمين نارا أحاط بهم سرادقها وإن يستغيثوا يغاثوا بماء كالمهل يشوي الوجوه بئس الشراب وساءت مرتفقا وَقُلِ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَمَن شَاءَ فَلْيُؤْمِن وَمَن شَاءَ فَلْيَكْفُرْ إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ نَارًا أَحَاطَ بِهِمْ سُرَادِقُهَا وَإِن يَسْتَغِيثُوا يُغَاثُوا بِمَاءٍ كَالْمُهْلِ يَشْوِي الْوُجُوهَ بِئْسَ الشَّرَابُ وَسَاءَتْ مُرْتَفَقًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور فرما دیجئے کہ (یہ) حق تمہارے رب کی طرف سے ہے، پس جو چاہے ایمان لے آئے اور جو چاہے انکار کردے، بیشک ہم نے ظالموں کے لئے (دوزخ کی) آگ تیار کر رکھی ہے جس کی دیواریں انہیں گھیر لیں گی، اور اگر وہ (پیاس اور تکلیف کے باعث) فریاد کریں گے تو ان کی فریاد رسی ایسے پانی سے کی جائے گی جو پگھلے ہوئے تانبے کی طرح ہوگا جو ان کے چہروں کو بھون دے گا، کتنا برا مشروب ہے، اور کتنی بری آرام گاہ ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say, "The truth is from your Lord": Let him who will believe, and let him who will, reject (it): for the wrong-doers We have prepared a Fire whose (smoke and flames), like the walls and roof of a tent, will hem them in: if they implore relief they will be granted water like melted brass, that will scald their faces, how dreadful the drink! How uncomfortable a couch to recline on!

| Words | |وقل - And say,| الحق - "The truth| من - (is) from| ربكم - your Lord,| فمن - so whoever| شاء - wills -| فليؤمن - let him believe| ومن - and whoever| شاء - wills -| فليكفر - let him disbelieve."| إنا - Indeed, We| أعتدنا - have prepared| للظالمين - for the wrongdoers| نارا - a Fire,| أحاط - will surround| بهم - them| سرادقها - its walls.| وإن - And if| يستغيثوا - they call for relief,| يغاثوا - they will be relieved| بماء - with water| كالمهل - like molten brass,| يشوي - (which) scalds| الوجوه - the faces.| بئس - Wretched| الشراب - (is) the drink,| وساءت - and evil| مرتفقا - (is) the resting place.| | ||||||
| 3. [18:30] | Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo alssalihati inna lanudeeAAu ajra man ahsana AAamalan | إن الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات إنا لا نضيع أجر من أحسن عملا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ إِنَّا لاَ نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ مَنْ أَحْسَنَ عَمَلاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کئے یقیناً ہم اس شخص کا اجر ضائع نہیں کرتے جو نیک عمل کرتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As to those who believe and work righteousness, verily We shall not suffer to perish the reward of any who do a (single) righteous deed.

[18:31] | Ola-ika lahum jannatu AAadnintajree min tahtihimu al-anharu yuhallawnafeeha min asawira min thahabin wayalbasoonathiyaban khudran min sundusin wa-istabraqinmuttaki-eena feeha AAala al-ara-iki niAAma alththawabuwahasunat murtafaqan | أولئك لهم جنات عدن تجري من تحتهم الأنهار يحلون فيها من أساور من ذهب ويلبسون ثيابا خضرا من سندس وإستبرق متكئين فيها على الأرائك نعم الثواب وحسنت مرتفقا أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهِمُ الْأَنْهَارُ يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍ وَيَلْبَسُونَ ثِيَابًا خُضْرًا مِّن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ نِعْمَ الثَّوَابُ وَحَسُنَتْ مُرْتَفَقًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ان لوگوں کے لئے ہمیشہ (آباد) رہنے والے باغات ہیں (جن میں) ان (کے محلات) کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہیں انہیں ان جنتوں میں سونے کے کنگن پہنائے جائیں گے اور وہ باریک دیبا اور بھاری اطلس کے (ریشمی) سبز لباس پہنیں گے اور پر تکلف تختوں پر تکئے لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے، کیا خوب ثواب ہے اور کتنی حسین آرام گاہ ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For them will be Gardens of Eternity; beneath them rivers will flow; they will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold, and they will wear green garments of fine silk and heavy brocade: They will recline therein on raised thrones. How good the recompense! How beautiful a couch to recline on!

[18:32] | Waidrib lahum mathalanrajulayni jaAAalna li-ahadihima jannataynimin aAAnabin wahafafnahuma binakhlinwajaAAalna baynahuma zarAAan | واضرب لهم مثلا رجلين جعلنا لأحدهما جنتين من أعناب وحففناهما بنخل وجعلنا بينهما زرعا وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلاً رَّجُلَيْنِ جَعَلْنَا لِأَحَدِهِمَا جَنَّتَيْنِ مِنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَحَفَفْنَاهُمَا بِنَخْلٍ وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمَا زَرْعًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ ان سے ان دو شخصوں کی مثال بیان کریں جن میں سے ایک کے لئے ہم نے انگور کے دو باغات بنائے اور ہم نے ان دونوں کو تمام اَطراف سے کھجور کے درختوں کے ساتھ ڈھانپ دیا اور ہم نے ان کے درمیان (سرسبز و شاداب) کھیتیاں اگا دیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Set forth to them the parable of two men: for one of them We provided two gardens of grape-vines and surrounded them with date palms; in between the two We placed corn-fields.

| Words | |واضرب - And set forth| لهم - to them| مثلا - the example| رجلين - of two men:| جعلنا - We provided| لأحدهما - for one of them| جنتين - two gardens| من - of| أعناب - grapes,| وحففناهما - and We bordered them| بنخل - with date-palms,| وجعلنا - and We placed| بينهما - between both of them| زرعا - crops.| | ||||||
| 6. [18:33] | Kilta aljannatayni atat okulahawalam tathlim minhu shay-an wafajjarna khilalahumanaharan | كلتا الجنتين آتت أكلها ولم تظلم منه شيئا وفجرنا خلالهما نهرا كِلْتَا الْجَنَّتَيْنِ آتَتْ أُكُلَهَا وَلَمْ تَظْلِمْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا وَفَجَّرْنَا خِلاَلَهُمَا نَهَرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ دونوں باغ (کثرت سے) اپنے پھل لائے اور ان کی (پیداوار) میں کوئی کمی نہ رہی اور ہم نے ان دونوں (میں سے ہر ایک) کے درمیان ایک نہر (بھی) جاری کر دی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Each of those gardens brought forth its produce, and failed not in the least therein: in the midst of them We caused a river to flow.

| 7. [18:34] | Wakana lahu thamarun faqala lisahibihiwahuwa yuhawiruhu ana aktharu minka malanwaaAAazzu nafaran | وكان له ثمر فقال لصاحبه وهو يحاوره أنا أكثر منك مالا وأعز نفرا وَكَانَ لَهُ ثَمَرٌ فَقَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهُ أَنَا أَكْثَرُ مِنكَ مَالاً وَأَعَزُّ نَفَرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس شخص کے پاس (اس کے سوا بھی) بہت سے پھل (یعنی وسائل) تھے، تو اس نے اپنے ساتھی سے کہا اور وہ اس سے تبادلہ خیال کر رہا تھا کہ میں تجھ سے مال و دولت میں کہیں زیادہ ہوں اور قبیلہ و خاندان کے لحاظ سے (بھی) زیادہ باعزت ہوں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Abundant) was the produce this man had : he said to his companion, in the course of a mutual argument: "more wealth have I than you, and more honour and power in (my following of) men."

| 8. [18:35] | Wadakhala jannatahu wahuwa thalimunlinafsihi qala ma athunnu an tabeedahathihi abadan | ودخل جنته وهو ظالم لنفسه قال ما أظن أن تبيد هذه أبدا وَدَخَلَ جَنَّتَهُ وَهُوَ ظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِ قَالَ مَا أَظُنُّ أَن تَبِيدَ هَذِهِ أَبَدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ (اسے لے کر) اپنے باغ میں داخل ہوا (تکبّر کی صورت میں) اپنی جان پر ظلم کرتے ہوئے کہنے لگا: میں یہ گمان (ہی) نہیں کرتا کہ یہ باغ تباہ ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He went into his garden in a state (of mind) unjust to his soul: He said, "I deem not that this will ever perish,

| 9. [18:36] | Wama athunnu alssaAAataqa-imatan wala-in rudidtu ila rabbee laajidannakhayran minha munqalaban | وما أظن الساعة قائمة ولئن رددت إلى ربي لأجدن خيرا منها منقلبا وَمَا أَظُنُّ السَّاعَةَ قَائِمَةً وَلَئِن رُّدِدتُّ إِلَى رَبِّي لَأَجِدَنَّ خَيْرًا مِّنْهَا مُنقَلَبًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور نہ ہی یہ گمان کرتا ہوں کہ قیامت قائم ہوگی اور اگر (بالفرض) میں اپنے رب کی طرف لوٹایا بھی گیا تو بھی یقیناً میں ان باغات سے بہتر پلٹنے کی جگہ پاؤں گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Nor do I deem that the Hour (of Judgment) will (ever) come: Even if I am brought back to my Lord, I shall surely find (there) something better in exchange."

[18:37] | Qala lahu sahibuhu wahuwa yuhawiruhuakafarta biallathee khalaqaka min turabinthumma min nutfatin thumma sawwaka rajulan | قال له صاحبه وهو يحاوره أكفرت بالذي خلقك من تراب ثم من نطفة ثم سواك رجلا قَالَ لَهُ صَاحِبُهُ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهُ أَكَفَرْتَ بِالَّذِي خَلَقَكَ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ سَوَّاكَ رَجُلاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس کے ساتھی نے اس سے کہا اور وہ اس سے تبادلہء خیال کر رہا تھا: کیا تو نے اس (رب) کا انکار کیا ہے جس نے تجھے (اوّلاً) مٹی سے پیدا کیا پھر ایک تولیدی قطرہ سے پھر تجھے (جسمانی طور پر) پورا مرد بنا دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | His companion said to him, in the course of the argument with him: "Dost thou deny Him Who created thee out of dust, then out of a sperm-drop, then fashioned thee into a man?

| 11. [18:38] | Lakinna huwa Allahu rabbee walaoshriku birabbee ahadan | لكنا هو الله ربي ولا أشرك بربي أحدا لَّكِنَّا هُوَ اللَّهُ رَبِّي وَلاَ أُشْرِكُ بِرَبِّي أَحَدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | لیکن میں (تو یہ کہتا ہوں) کہ وہی اﷲ میرا رب ہے اور میں اپنے رب کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہیں گردانتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "But (I think) for my part that He is Allah, My Lord, and none shall I associate with my Lord.

| Words | |لكنا - But as for me,| هو - He| الله - (is) Allah,| ربي - my Lord,| ولا - and not| أشرك - I associate| بربي - with my Lord| أحدا - anyone.| | ||||||

[18:39] | Walawla ith dakhalta jannatakaqulta ma shaa Allahu la quwwata illabiAllahi in tarani ana aqalla minka malanwawaladan | ولولا إذ دخلت جنتك قلت ما شاء الله لا قوة إلا بالله إن ترن أنا أقل منك مالا وولدا وَلَوْلاَ إِذْ دَخَلْتَ جَنَّتَكَ قُلْتَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ لاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ إِن تَرَنِ أَنَا أَقَلَّ مِنكَ مَالاً وَوَلَدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب تو اپنے باغ میں داخل ہوا تو تو نے کیوں نہیں کہا: ”ما شاء اﷲ لا قوۃ اِلا باﷲ“ (وہی ہونا ہے جو اﷲ چاہے کسی کو کچھ طاقت نہیں مگر اﷲ کی مدد سے)، اگر تو (اِس وقت) مجھے مال و اولاد میں اپنے سے کم تر دیکھتا ہے (تو کیا ہوا) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Why didst thou not, as thou wentest into thy garden, say: 'Allah's will (be done)! There is no power but with Allah!' If thou dost see me less than thee in wealth and sons,

[18:40] | FaAAasa rabbee an yu/tiyani khayranmin jannatika wayursila AAalayha husbananmina alssama-i fatusbiha saAAeedanzalaqan | فعسى ربي أن يؤتين خيرا من جنتك ويرسل عليها حسبانا من السماء فتصبح صعيدا زلقا فَعَسَى رَبِّي أَن يُؤْتِيَنِ خَيْرًا مِّن جَنَّتِكَ وَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهَا حُسْبَانًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَتُصْبِحَ صَعِيدًا زَلَقًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کچھ بعید نہیں کہ میرا رب مجھے تیرے باغ سے بہتر عطا فرمائے اور اس (باغ) پر آسمان سے کوئی عذاب بھیج دے پھر وہ چٹیل چکنی زمین بن جائے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "It may be that my Lord will give me something better than thy garden, and that He will send on thy garden thunderbolts (by way of reckoning) from heaven, making it (but) slippery sand!-

| 14. [18:41] | Aw yusbiha maohaghawran falan tastateeAAa lahu talaban | أو يصبح ماؤها غورا فلن تستطيع له طلبا أَوْ يُصْبِحَ مَاؤُهَا غَوْرًا فَلَن تَسْتَطِيعَ لَهُ طَلَبًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یا اس کا پانی زمین کی گہرائی میں چلا جائے پھر تو اسے حاصل کرنے کی طاقت بھی نہ پا سکے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Or the water of the garden will run off underground so that thou wilt never be able to find it."

[18:42] | Waoheeta bithamarihi faasbahayuqallibu kaffayhi AAala ma anfaqa feehawahiya khawiyatun AAala AAurooshihawayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oshrik birabbee ahadan | وأحيط بثمره فأصبح يقلب كفيه على ما أنفق فيها وهي خاوية على عروشها ويقول يا ليتني لم أشرك بربي أحدا وَأُحِيطَ بِثَمَرِهِ فَأَصْبَحَ يُقَلِّبُ كَفَّيْهِ عَلَى مَا أَنفَقَ فِيهَا وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَى عُرُوشِهَا وَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُشْرِكْ بِرَبِّي أَحَدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اس تکبّر کے باعث) اس کے (سارے) پھل (تباہی میں) گھیر لئے گئے تو صبح کو وہ اس پونجی پر جو اس نے اس (باغ کے لگانے) میں خرچ کی تھی کفِ افسوس ملتا رہ گیا اور وہ باغ اپنے چھپروں پر گرا پڑا تھا اور وہ (سراپا حسرت و یاس بن کر) کہہ رہا تھا: ہائے کاش! میں نے اپنے رب کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھہرایا ہوتا (اور اپنے اوپر گھمنڈ نہ کیا ہوتا) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So his fruits (and enjoyment) were encompassed (with ruin), and he remained twisting and turning his hands over what he had spent on his property, which had (now) tumbled to pieces to its very foundations, and he could only say, "Woe is me! Would I had never ascribed partners to my Lord and Cherisher!"

| 16. [18:43] | Walam takun lahu fi-atun yansuroonahumin dooni Allahi wama kana muntasiran | ولم تكن له فئة ينصرونه من دون الله وما كان منتصرا وَلَمْ تَكُن لَّهُ فِئَةٌ يَنصُرُونَهُ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مُنتَصِرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس کے لئے کوئی گروہ (بھی) ایسا نہ تھا جو اﷲ کے مقابلہ میں اس کی مدد کرتے اور نہ وہ خود (ہی اس تباہی کا) بدلہ لینے کے قابل تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nor had he numbers to help him against Allah, nor was he able to deliver himself.

| 17. [18:44] | Hunalika alwalayatu lillahialhaqqi huwa khayrun thawaban wakhayrun AAuqban | هنالك الولاية لله الحق هو خير ثوابا وخير عقبا هُنَالِكَ الْوَلاَيَةُ لِلَّهِ الْحَقِّ هُوَ خَيْرٌ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ عُقْبًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہاں (پتہ چلتا ہے) کہ سب اختیار اﷲ ہی کا ہے (جو) حق ہے، وہی بہتر ہے انعام دینے میں اور وہی بہتر ہے انجام کرنے میں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | There, the (only) protection comes from Allah, the True One. He is the Best to reward, and the Best to give success.

[18:46] | Almalu waalbanoona zeenatu alhayatialddunya waalbaqiyatu alssalihatukhayrun AAinda rabbika thawaban wakhayrun amalan | المال والبنون زينة الحياة الدنيا والباقيات الصالحات خير عند ربك ثوابا وخير أملا الْمَالُ وَالْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | مال اور اولاد (تو صرف) دنیاوی زندگی کی زینت ہیں اور (حقیقت میں) باقی رہنے والی (تو) نیکیاں (ہیں جو) آپ کے رب کے نزدیک ثواب کے لحاظ سے (بھی) بہتر ہیں اور آرزو کے لحاظ سے (بھی) خوب تر ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Wealth and sons are allurements of the life of this world: But the things that endure, good deeds, are best in the sight of thy Lord, as rewards, and best as (the foundation for) hopes.

[18:45] | Waidrib lahum mathala alhayatialddunya kama-in anzalnahu mina alssama-ifaikhtalata bihi nabatu al-ardi faasbahahasheeman tathroohu alrriyahu wakanaAllahu AAala kulli shay-in muqtadiran | واضرب لهم مثل الحياة الدنيا كماء أنزلناه من السماء فاختلط به نبات الأرض فأصبح هشيما تذروه الرياح وكان الله على كل شيء مقتدرا وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَاءٍ أَنزَلْنَاهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الْأَرْضِ فَأَصْبَحَ هَشِيمًا تَذْرُوهُ الرِّيَاحُ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّقْتَدِرًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ انہیں دنیوی زندگی کی مثال (بھی) بیان کیجئے (جو) اس پانی جیسی ہے جسے ہم نے آسمان کی طرف سے اتارا تو اس کے باعث زمین کا سبزہ خوب گھنا ہوگیا پھر وہ سوکھی گھاس کا چورا بن گیا جسے ہوائیں اڑا لے جاتی ہیں، اور اﷲ ہر چیز پر کامل قدرت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Set forth to them the similitude of the life of this world: It is like the rain which we send down from the skies: the earth's vegetation absorbs it, but soon it becomes dry stubble, which the winds do scatter: it is (only) Allah who prevails over all things.

| 20. [18:47] | Wayawma nusayyiru aljibala wataraal-arda barizatan wahasharnahum falamnughadir minhum ahadan | ويوم نسير الجبال وترى الأرض بارزة وحشرناهم فلم نغادر منهم أحدا وَيَوْمَ نُسَيِّرُ الْجِبَالَ وَتَرَى الْأَرْضَ بَارِزَةً وَحَشَرْنَاهُمْ فَلَمْ نُغَادِرْ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ دن (قیامت کا) ہوگا جب ہم پہاڑوں کو (ریزہ ریزہ کر کے فضا میں) چلائیں گے اور آپ زمین کو صاف میدان دیکھیں گے (اس پر شجر، حجر اور حیوانات و نباتات میں سے کچھ بھی نہ ہوگا) اور ہم سب انسانوں کو جمع فرمائیں گے اور ان میں سے کسی کو (بھی) نہیں چھوڑیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | One Day We shall remove the mountains, and thou wilt see the earth as a level stretch, and We shall gather them, all together, nor shall We leave out any one of them.

[18:48] | WaAAuridoo AAala rabbika saffanlaqad ji/tumoona kama khalaqnakum awwalamarratin bal zaAAamtum allan najAAala lakum mawAAidan | وعرضوا على ربك صفا لقد جئتمونا كما خلقناكم أول مرة بل زعمتم ألن نجعل لكم موعدا وَعُرِضُوا عَلَى رَبِّكَ صَفًّا لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا كَمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ بَلْ زَعَمْتُمْ أَلَّن نَّجْعَلَ لَكُم مَّوْعِدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (سب لوگ) آپ کے رب کے حضور قطار در قطار پیش کئے جائیں گے، (ان سے کہا جائے گا:) بیشک تم ہمارے پاس (آج اسی طرح) آئے ہو جیسا کہ ہم نے تمہیں پہلی بار پیدا کیا تھا بلکہ تم یہ گمان کرتے تھے کہ ہم تمہارے لئے ہرگز وعدہ کا وقت مقرر ہی نہیں کریں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And they will be marshalled before thy Lord in ranks, (with the announcement), "Now have ye come to Us (bare) as We created you first: aye, ye thought We shall not fulfil the appointment made to you to meet (Us)!":

[18:51] | Ma ashhadtuhum khalqa alssamawatiwaal-ardi wala khalqa anfusihim wamakuntu muttakhitha almudilleena AAadudan | ما أشهدتهم خلق السماوات والأرض ولا خلق أنفسهم وما كنت متخذ المضلين عضدا مَا أَشْهَدتُّهُمْ خَلْقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلاَ خَلْقَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمَا كُنتُ مُتَّخِذَ الْمُضِلِّينَ عَضُدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | میں نے نہ (تو) انہیں آسمانوں اور زمین کی تخلیق پر (معاونت یا گواہی کے لئے) بلایا تھا اور نہ خود ان کی اپنی تخلیق (کے وقت)، اور نہ (ہی) میں ایسا تھا کہ گمراہ کرنے والوں کو (اپنا) دست و بازو بناتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | I called them not to witness the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor (even) their own creation: nor is it for helpers such as Me to take as lead (men) astray!

[18:49] | WawudiAAa alkitabu fataraalmujrimeena mushfiqeena mimma feehi wayaqooloona yawaylatana ma lihatha alkitabi layughadiru sagheeratan wala kabeeratan illaahsaha wawajadoo ma AAamiloo hadiranwala yathlimu rabbuka ahadan | ووضع الكتاب فترى المجرمين مشفقين مما فيه ويقولون يا ويلتنا مال هذا الكتاب لا يغادر صغيرة ولا كبيرة إلا أحصاها ووجدوا ما عملوا حاضرا ولا يظلم ربك أحدا وَوُضِعَ الْكِتَابُ فَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا فِيهِ وَيَقُولُونَ يَا وَيْلَتَنَا مَالِ هَذَا الْكِتَابِ لاَ يُغَادِرُ صَغِيرَةً وَلاَ كَبِيرَةً إِلاَّ أَحْصَاهَا وَوَجَدُوا مَا عَمِلُوا حَاضِرًا وَلاَ يَظْلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (ہر ایک کے سامنے) اَعمال نامہ رکھ دیا جائے گا سو آپ مجرموں کو دیکھیں گے (وہ) ان (گناہوں اور جرموں) سے خوفزدہ ہوں گے جو اس (اَعمال نامہ) میں درج ہوں گے اور کہیں گے: ہائے ہلاکت! اس اَعمال نامہ کو کیا ہوا ہے اس نے نہ کوئی چھوٹی (بات) چھوڑی ہے اور نہ کوئی بڑی (بات)، مگر اس نے (ہر ہر بات کو) شمار کر لیا ہے اور وہ جو کچھ کرتے رہے تھے (اپنے سامنے) حاضر پائیں گے، اور آپ کا رب کسی پر ظلم نہ فرمائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the Book (of Deeds) will be placed (before you); and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein; they will say, "Ah! woe to us! what a Book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great, but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did, placed before them: And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice.

| Words | |ووضع - And (will) be placed| الكتاب - the Book| فترى - and you will see| المجرمين - the criminals| مشفقين - fearful| مما - of what| فيه - (is) in it,| ويقولون - and they will say,| يا - O| ويلتنا - "Oh, woe to us!| مال - What (is) for| هذا - this| الكتاب - [the] Book,| لا - not| يغادر - leaves| صغيرة - a small| ولا - and not| كبيرة - a great| إلا - except| أحصاها - has enumerated it?"| ووجدوا - And they will find| ما - what| عملوا - they did| حاضرا - presented.| ولا - And not| يظلم - deals unjustly| ربك - your Lord| أحدا - (with) anyone.| | ||||||
| 24. [18:50] | Wa-ith qulna lilmala-ikatiosjudoo li-adama fasajadoo illa ibleesa kanamina aljinni fafasaqa AAan amri rabbihi afatattakhithoonahuwathurriyyatahu awliyaa min doonee wahum lakumAAaduwwun bi/sa lilththalimeena badalan | وإذ قلنا للملائكة اسجدوا لآدم فسجدوا إلا إبليس كان من الجن ففسق عن أمر ربه أفتتخذونه وذريته أولياء من دوني وهم لكم عدو بئس للظالمين بدلا وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِي وَهُمْ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ بِئْسَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ بَدَلاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (وہ وقت یاد کیجئے) جب ہم نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ تم آدم (علیہ السلام) کو سجدۂ (تعظیم) کرو سو ان (سب) نے سجدہ کیا سوائے ابلیس کے، وہ (ابلیس) جنّات میں سے تھا تو وہ اپنے رب کی طاعت سے باہر نکل گیا، کیا تم اس کو اور اس کی اولاد کو مجھے چھوڑ کر دوست بنا رہے ہو حالانکہ وہ تمہارے دشمن ہیں، یہ ظالموں کے لئے کیا ہی برا بدل ہے (جو انہوں نے میری جگہ منتخب کیا ہے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers!

| 25. [18:52] | Wayawma yaqoolu nadoo shuraka-iyaallatheena zaAAamtum fadaAAawhum falam yastajeeboo lahumwajaAAalna baynahum mawbiqan | ويوم يقول نادوا شركائي الذين زعمتم فدعوهم فلم يستجيبوا لهم وجعلنا بينهم موبقا وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ نَادُوا شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّوْبِقًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ دن (یاد کرو جب) اﷲ فرمائے گا: انہیں پکارو جنہیں تم میرا شریک گمان کرتے تھے، سو وہ انہیں بلائیں گے مگر وہ انہیں کوئی جواب نہ دیں گے اور ہم ان کے درمیان (ایک وادئ جہنم کو) ہلاکت کی جگہ بنا دیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | One Day He will say, "Call on those whom ye thought to be My partners," and they will call on them, but they will not listen to them; and We shall make for them a place of common perdition.

| Words | |ويوم - And the Day| يقول - He will say,| نادوا - "Call| شركائي - My partners,| الذين - those who| زعمتم - you claimed,"| فدعوهم - then they will call them| فلم - but not| يستجيبوا - they will respond| لهم - to them.| وجعلنا - And We will make| بينهم - between them| موبقا - a barrier.| | ||||||
| 26. [18:53] | Waraa almujrimoona alnnarafathannoo annahum muwaqiAAooha walamyajidoo AAanha masrifan | ورأى المجرمون النار فظنوا أنهم مواقعوها ولم يجدوا عنها مصرفا وَرَأَى الْمُجْرِمُونَ النَّارَ فَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُم مُّوَاقِعُوهَا وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا عَنْهَا مَصْرِفًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور مجرم لوگ آتشِ دوزخ کو دیکھیں گے تو جان لیں گے کہ وہ یقیناً اسی میں گرنے والے ہیں اور وہ اس سے گریز کی کوئی جگہ نہ پاسکیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the Sinful shall see the fire and apprehend that they have to fall therein: no means will they find to turn away therefrom.

| Words | |ورأى - And will see| المجرمون - the criminals| النار - the Fire,| فظنوا - and they (will be) certain| أنهم - that they| مواقعوها - are to fall in it.| ولم - And not| يجدوا - they will find| عنها - from it| مصرفا - a way of escape.| | ||||||

[18:54] | Walaqad sarrafna fee hathaalqur-ani lilnnasi min kulli mathalin wakanaal-insanu akthara shay-in jadalan | ولقد صرفنا في هذا القرآن للناس من كل مثل وكان الإنسان أكثر شيء جدلا وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَا فِي هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ لِلنَّاسِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ وَكَانَ الْإِنسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَيْءٍ جَدَلاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے اس قرآن میں لوگوں کے لئے ہر طرح کی مثال کو (انداز بدل بدل کر) بار بار بیان کیا ہے، اور انسان جھگڑنے میں ہر چیز سے بڑھ کر ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We have explained in detail in this Qur'an, for the benefit of mankind, every kind of similitude: but man is, in most things, contentious.

| 28. [18:59] | Watilka alqura ahlaknahum lammathalamoo wajaAAalna limahlikihim mawAAidan | وتلك القرى أهلكناهم لما ظلموا وجعلنا لمهلكهم موعدا وَتِلْكَ الْقُرَى أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ لَمَّا ظَلَمُوا وَجَعَلْنَا لِمَهْلِكِهِم مَّوْعِدًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یہ بستیاں ہیں ہم نے جن کے رہنے والوں کو ہلاک کر ڈالا جب انہوں نے ظلم کیا اور ہم نے ان کی ہلاکت کے لئے ایک وقت مقرر کر رکھا تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Such were the populations we destroyed when they committed iniquities; but we fixed an appointed time for their destruction.

| Words | |وتلك - And these| القرى - [the] towns,| أهلكناهم - We destroyed them| لما - when| ظلموا - they wronged,| وجعلنا - and We made| لمهلكهم - for their destruction| موعدا - an appointed time.| | ||||||

[18:55] | Wama manaAAa alnnasa anyu/minoo ith jaahumu alhuda wayastaghfiroorabbahum illa an ta/tiyahum sunnatu al-awwaleena awya/tiyahumu alAAathabu qubulan | وما منع الناس أن يؤمنوا إذ جاءهم الهدى ويستغفروا ربهم إلا أن تأتيهم سنة الأولين أو يأتيهم العذاب قبلا وَمَا مَنَعَ النَّاسَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا إِذْ جَاءَهُمُ الْهُدَى وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّهُمْ إِلاَّ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ قُبُلاً | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور لوگوں کو جبکہ ان کے پاس ہدایت آچکی تھی کسی نے (اس بات سے) منع نہیں کیا تھا کہ وہ ایمان لائیں اور اپنے رب سے مغفرت طلب کریں سوائے اس (انتظار) کے کہ انہیں اگلے لوگوں کا طریقہ (ہلاکت) پیش آئے یا عذاب ان کے سامنے آجائے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And what is there to keep back men from believing, now that Guidance has come to them, nor from praying for forgiveness from their Lord, but that (they ask that) the ways of the ancients be repeated with them, or the Wrath be brought to them face to face?

| 30. [18:60] | Wa-ith qala moosa lifatahula abrahu hatta ablugha majmaAAa albahrayniaw amdiya huquban | وإذ قال موسى لفتاه لا أبرح حتى أبلغ مجمع البحرين أو أمضي حقبا وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِفَتَاهُ لاَ أَبْرَحُ حَتَّى أَبْلُغَ مَجْمَعَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ أَوْ أَمْضِيَ حُقُبًا | |||||
