Faintalaqa hattaitha ataya ahla qaryatin istatAAamaahlaha faabaw an yudayyifoohuma fawajadafeeha jidaran yureedu an yanqadda faaqamahuqala law shi/ta laittakhathta AAalayhi ajran فانطلقا حتى إذا أتيا أهل قرية استطعما أهلها فأبوا أن يضيفوهما فوجدا فيها جدارا يريد أن ينقض فأقامه قال لو شئت لاتخذت عليه أجرا
فَانطَلَقَا حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَيَا أَهْلَ قَرْيَةٍ اسْتَطْعَمَا أَهْلَهَا فَأَبَوْا أَن يُضَيِّفُوهُمَا فَوَجَدَا فِيهَا جِدَارًا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَنقَضَّ فَأَقَامَهُ قَالَ لَوْ شِئْتَ لَاتَّخَذْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا

  پھر دونوں چل پڑے یہاں تک کہ جب دونوں ایک بستی والوں کے پاس آپہنچے، دونوں نے وہاں کے باشندوں سے کھانا طلب کیا تو انہوں نے ان دونوں کی میزبانی کرنے سے انکار کر دیا، پھر دونوں نے وہاں ایک دیوار پائی جو گرا چاہتی تھی تو (خضر علیہ السلام نے) اسے سیدھا کر دیا، موسٰی (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: اگر آپ چاہتے تو اس (تعمیر) پر مزدوری لے لیتے

Yousuf AliThen they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality. They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!"

Shabbir Ahmed پھر چل پڑے وہ دونوں حتّٰی کہ جب پہنچے وہ دونوں ایک بستی والوں کے پاس تو اُنہوں نے کھانا طلب کیا وہاں کے رہنے والوں سے تو انکار کردیا اُنہون نے اُنہیں مہمان بنانے سے پھر دیکھی اُنہوں نے وہاں ایک دیوار جو گرا چاہتی تھی تو اس نے اسے درست کردیا۔ موسیٰ نے کہا اگر آپ چاہتے تو ضرور لے سکتے تھے اس کام پر اُجرت۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyپھر دونوں چلے۔ یہاں تک کہ ایک گاؤں والوں کے پاس پہنچے اور ان سے کھانا طلب کیا۔ انہوں نے ان کی ضیافت کرنے سے انکار کر دیا۔ پھر انہوں نے وہاں ایک دیوار دیکھی جو (جھک کر) گرا چاہتی تھی۔ خضر نے اس کو سیدھا کر دیا۔ موسیٰ نے کہا اگر آپ چاہتے تو ان سے (اس کا) معاوضہ لیتے (تاکہ کھانے کا کام چلتا)
Mehmood Al Hassanپھر دونوں چلے یہاں تک کہ جب پہنچے ایک گاؤں کے لوگوں تک کھانا چاہا وہاں کے لوگوں سے انہوں نے نہ مانا انکو مہمان رکھیں پھر پائی وہاں ایک دیوار جو گرا چاہتی تھی اسکو سیدھا کر دیا بولا موسٰی اگر تو چاہتا تو لے لیتا اس پر مزدوری
Abul Ala Maududiپھر وہ آگے چلے یہاں تک کہ ایک بستی میں پہنچے اور وہاں کے لوگوں سے کھانا مانگا مگر انہوں نے ان دونوں کی ضیافت سے انکار کر دیا وہاں انہوں نے ایک دیوار دیکھی جوگرا چاہتی تھی اُس شخص نے اس دیوار کو پھر قائم کر دیا موسیٰؑ نے کہا " اگر آپ چاہتے تو اس کام کی اُجرت لے سکتے تھے"
