[2:264] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tubtiloo sadaqatikum bialmanniwaal-atha kaallathee yunfiqu malahuri-aa alnnasi wala yu/minu biAllahiwaalyawmi al-akhiri famathaluhu kamathali safwaninAAalayhi turabun faasabahu wabilunfatarakahu saldan la yaqdiroona AAalashay-in mimma kasaboo waAllahu layahdee alqawma alkafireena |  يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تبطلوا صدقاتكم بالمن والأذى كالذي ينفق ماله رئاء الناس ولا يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فمثله كمثل صفوان عليه تراب فأصابه وابل فتركه صلدا لا يقدرون على شيء مما كسبوا والله لا يهدي القوم الكافرينيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ لاَ تُبْطِلُواْ صَدَقَاتِكُم بِالْمَنِّ وَالْأَذَى كَالَّذِي يُنفِقُ مَالَهُ رِئَاءَ النَّاسِ وَلاَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ صَفْوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ تُرَابٌ فَأَصَابَهُ وَابِلٌ فَتَرَكَهُ صَلْدًا لاَّ يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِّمَّا كَسَبُواْ وَاللّهُ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اے ایمان والو! اپنے صدقات (بعد ازاں) احسان جتا کر اور دُکھ دے کر اس شخص کی طرح برباد نہ کر لیا کرو جو مال لوگوں کے دکھانے کے لئے خرچ کرتا ہے اور نہ اﷲ پر ایمان رکھتا ہے اور نہ روزِ قیامت پر، اس کی مثال ایک ایسے چکنے پتھر کی سی ہے جس پر تھوڑی سی مٹی پڑی ہو پھر اس پر زوردار بارش ہو تو وہ اسے (پھر وہی) سخت اور صاف (پتھر) کر کے ہی چھوڑ دے، سو اپنی کمائی میں سے ان (ریاکاروں) کے ہاتھ کچھ بھی نہیں آئے گا، اور اﷲ کافر قوم کو ہدایت نہیں فرماتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O ye who believe! cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury,- like those who spend their substance to be seen of men, but believe neither in Allah nor in the Last Day. They are in parable like a hard, barren rock, on which is a little soil: on it falls heavy rain, which leaves it (Just) a bare stone. They will be able to do nothing with aught they have earned. And Allah guideth not those who reject faith.

| Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | مومنو! اپنے صدقات (وخیرات) احسان رکھنے اور ایذا دینے سے اس شخص کی طرح برباد نہ کردینا۔ جو لوگوں کو دکھاوے کے لئے مال خرچ کرتا ہے اور خدا اور روز آخرت پر ایمان نہیں رکھتا۔ تو اس (کے مال) کی مثال اس چٹان کی سی ہے جس پر تھوڑی سی مٹی پڑی ہو اور اس پر زور کا مینہ برس کر اسے صاف کر ڈالے۔ (اسی طرح) یہ (ریاکار) لوگ اپنے اعمال کا کچھ بھی صلہ حاصل نہیں کرسکیں گے۔ اور خدا ایسے ناشکروں کو ہدایت نہیں دیا کرتا | ||||||

| QXP Shabbir Ahemd** | O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! Cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injuring the self-respect of the recipients; like those who spend their wealth for show-off. This kind of behavior contradicts the true belief in Allah and His Law of Recompense. Charity has been ordained to help individuals and not to hurt them (93:10), and Allah has promised you manifold reward. But, a seed won't grow on a dusty rock, upon which rain falls and washes it clean. Even Allah won't guide those who deny such simple realities. | ||||||
