| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [2:71] | Qala innahu yaqoolu innahabaqaratun la thaloolun tutheeru al-arda walatasqee alhartha musallamatun la shiyata feehaqaloo al-ana ji/ta bialhaqqi fathabahoohawama kadoo yafAAaloona |  قال إنه يقول إنها بقرة لا ذلول تثير الأرض ولا تسقي الحرث مسلمة لا شية فيها قالوا الآن جئت بالحق فذبحوها وما كادوا يفعلونقَالَ إِنَّهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لاَّ ذَلُولٌ تُثِيرُ الْأَرْضَ وَلاَ تَسْقِي الْحَرْثَ مُسَلَّمَةٌ لاَّ شِيَةَ فِيهَا قَالُواْ الْآنَ جِئْتَ بِالْحَقِّ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَا كَادُواْ يَفْعَلُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | (موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے کہا:) اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے (وہ کوئی گھٹیا گائے نہیں بلکہ) یقینی طور پر ایسی (اعلیٰ) گائے ہو جس سے نہ زمین میں ہل چلانے کی محنت لی جاتی ہو اور نہ کھیتی کو پانی دیتی ہو، بالکل تندرست ہو اس میں کوئی داغ دھبہ بھی نہ ہو، انہوں نے کہا: اب آپ ٹھیک بات لائے (ہیں)، پھر انہوں نے اس کو ذبح کیا حالانکہ وہ ذبح کرتے معلوم نہ ہوتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "He says: A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields; sound and without blemish." They said: "Now hast thou brought the truth." Then they offered her in sacrifice, but not with good-will.

| Ahmed Raza Khan | کہا وہ فرماتا ہے کہ وہ ایک گائے ہے جس سے خدمت نہیں لی جاتی کہ زمین جوتے اور نہ کھیتی کو پانی دے بے عیب ہے جس میں کوئی داغ نہیں بولے اب آپ ٹھیک بات لائے تو اسے ذبح کیا اور (ذبح) کرتے معلوم نہ ہوتے تھے | ||||||
| Shabbir Ahmed | موسیٰ نے کہا، بیشک اللہ فرماتا ہے کہ وہ ایک گائے ہے جو نہیں ہے محنت کرنے والی، کہ زمین جوتتی ہو اور نہ پانی دیتی ہو کھیتی کو، صحیح و سالم، بے داغ۔ کہنے لگے، اب لائے ہو تم بالکل ٹھیک بات۔ بالآخر ذبح کردیا انہوں نے اُسے اگرچہ نہ لگتا تھا کہ وہ ایسا کریں گے۔ | ||||||
| Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | موسیٰ نے کہا کہ خدا فرماتا ہے کہ وہ بیل کام میں لگا ہوا نہ ہو، نہ تو زمین جوتتا ہو اور نہ کھیتی کو پانی دیتا ہو۔ اس میں کسی طرح کا داغ نہ ہو۔ کہنے لگے، اب تم نے سب باتیں درست بتا دیں۔ غرض (بڑی مشکل سے) انہوں نے اس بیل کو ذبح کیا، اور وہ ایسا کرنے والے تھے نہیں | ||||||
| Mehmood Al Hassan | کہا وہ فرماتا ہے کہ وہ ایک گائے ہے محنت کرنے والی نہیں کہ جوتتی ہو زمین کو یا پانی دیتی ہو کھیتی کو بے عیب ہے کوئی داغ اسمیں نہیں بولے اب لایا تو ٹھیک بات پھر اس کو ذبح کیا اور وہ لگتے نہ تھے کہ ایسا کر لیں گے | ||||||
| Abul Ala Maududi | موسیٰؑ نے جواب دیا: اللہ کہتا ہے کہ وہ ایسی گائے ہے جس سے خدمت نہیں لی جاتی، نہ زمین جوتتی ہے نہ پانی کھینچتی ہے، صحیح سالم اور بے داغ ہے، اس پر وہ پکار اٹھے کہ ہاں، اب تم نے ٹھیک پتہ بتایا ہے پھر انہوں نے اسے ذبح کیا، ورنہ وہ ایسا کرتے معلوم نہ ہوتے تھے | ||||||
| Farooq S. Khan | اس (موسیٰ) نے کہا، وہ(اللہ) کہتا ہے، بے شک وہ ایسی گائے ہے جونہ زمین جوتنا سیکھی ہے نہ کھیت کو پانی دینا، صحیح سالم ا، بے داغ ، انہوں نے کہا، اب تم سچ لائے ہو۔ تو انہوں نے اسے(گائےکو) ذبح کر ہی دیا ، اوروہ یہ نہ کرنے کے قریب تھے؟۔ | ||||||

They said: "Now, you came with the truth/fact " So they slaughtered it , and they were not about to make/do (it). | ||||||

| Sarwar | (Moses) said, "The Lord says that it must not have even tilled the soil nor irrigated the fields and it must be free of blemishes and flaws." They said, "Now you have given us the right description." After almost failing to find it, they slaughtered the cow. | ||||||

| Malik | Moses replied: "Allah says, the said cow should have neither been used to till the soil nor water the fields; a healthy one free from any blemish." "Now you have brought us the accurate description," they said. Then they slaughtered her, after they had nearly declined.[71] | ||||||

They said, "Now you bring the Truth." So they sacrificed her with great reluctance. Their hearts had been drenched in cow worship ((2:93), (5:101)). | ||||||
