| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [20:86] | FarajaAAa moosa ila qawmihighadbana asifan qala ya qawmi alamyaAAidkum rabbukum waAAdan hasanan afatalaAAalaykumu alAAahdu am aradtum an yahilla AAalaykum ghadabunmin rabbikum faakhlaftum mawAAidee |  فرجع موسى إلى قومه غضبان أسفا قال يا قوم ألم يعدكم ربكم وعدا حسنا أفطال عليكم العهد أم أردتم أن يحل عليكم غضب من ربكم فأخلفتم موعديفَرَجَعَ مُوسَى إِلَى قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَانَ أَسِفًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَلَمْ يَعِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا أَفَطَالَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَهْدُ أَمْ أَرَدتُّمْ أَن يَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُم مَّوْعِدِي | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | پس موسٰی (علیہ السلام) اپنی قوم کی طرف سخت غضبناک (اور) رنجیدہ ہوکر پلٹ گئے (اور) فرمایا: اے میری قوم! کیا تمہارے رب نے تم سے ایک اچھا وعدہ نہیں فرمایا تھا، کیا تم پر وعدہ (کے پورے ہونے) میں طویل مدت گزر گئی تھی، کیا تم نے یہ چاہا کہ تم پر تمہارے رب کی طرف سے غضب واجب (اور نازل) ہوجائے؟ پس تم نے میرے وعدہ کی خلاف ورزی کی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So Moses returned to his people in a state of indignation and sorrow. He said: "O my people! did not your Lord make a handsome promise to you? Did then the promise seem to you long (in coming)? Or did ye desire that Wrath should descend from your Lord on you, and so ye broke your promise to me?"

He said: "My nation, did not your Lord promise you a good/beautiful promise, did the promise/contract become long/last long on you, or you wanted/intended that anger (be) placed on you from your Lord, so you broke my appointment?" | ||||||
