FarajaAAa moosa ila qawmihighadbana asifan qala ya qawmi alamyaAAidkum rabbukum waAAdan hasanan afatalaAAalaykumu alAAahdu am aradtum an yahilla AAalaykum ghadabunmin rabbikum faakhlaftum mawAAidee فرجع موسى إلى قومه غضبان أسفا قال يا قوم ألم يعدكم ربكم وعدا حسنا أفطال عليكم العهد أم أردتم أن يحل عليكم غضب من ربكم فأخلفتم موعدي
فَرَجَعَ مُوسَى إِلَى قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَانَ أَسِفًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَلَمْ يَعِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا أَفَطَالَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَهْدُ أَمْ أَرَدتُّمْ أَن يَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُم مَّوْعِدِي

  پس موسٰی (علیہ السلام) اپنی قوم کی طرف سخت غضبناک (اور) رنجیدہ ہوکر پلٹ گئے (اور) فرمایا: اے میری قوم! کیا تمہارے رب نے تم سے ایک اچھا وعدہ نہیں فرمایا تھا، کیا تم پر وعدہ (کے پورے ہونے) میں طویل مدت گزر گئی تھی، کیا تم نے یہ چاہا کہ تم پر تمہارے رب کی طرف سے غضب واجب (اور نازل) ہوجائے؟ پس تم نے میرے وعدہ کی خلاف ورزی کی ہے

Yousuf AliSo Moses returned to his people in a state of indignation and sorrow. He said: "O my people! did not your Lord make a handsome promise to you? Did then the promise seem to you long (in coming)? Or did ye desire that Wrath should descend from your Lord on you, and so ye broke your promise to me?"

Ahmed Aliپھر موسیٰ اپنی قوم کی طرف غصہ میں بھرے ہوئے افسوس کرتے ہوئے لوٹے کہا اے میری قوم کیا تمہارے رب نے تم سے اچھا وعدہ نہیں کیا تھا پھر کیا تم پر بہت زمانہ گزر گیا تھا یا تم نے چاہا کہ تم پر تمہارے رب کا غصہ نازل ہو تب تم نے مجھ سے وعدہ خلافی کی
Ahmed Raza Khanتو موسیٰ اپنی قوم کی طرف پلٹا غصہ میں بھرا افسوس کرتا کہا اے میری قوم کیا تم سے تمہارے رب نے اچھا وعدہ نہ تھا کیا تم پر مدت لمبی گزری یا تم نے چاہا کہ تم پر تمہارے رب کا غضب اترے تو تم نے میرا وعدہ خلاف کیا
Shabbir Ahmed سو لوٹے موسیٰ اپنی قوم کی طرف غصّے میں بھرے ہُوئے غمگین، فرمایا: اے میری قوم! کیا نہیں وعدہ کیا تھا تم سے تمہارے رب نے ایک اچّھا وعدہ؟ یا پھر طویل ہوگئی تھی تم پر مدّت یا چاہتے تھے تم کہ ا ٓپڑے تم پر غضب تمہارے رب کا اور اسی لیے خلاف کیا تم نے مجھ سے کیے ہُوئے وعدے کے؟۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyاور موسیٰ غصّے اور غم کی حالت میں اپنی قوم کے پاس واپس آئے (اور) کہنے لگے کہ اے قوم کیا تمہارے پروردگار نے تم سے ایک اچھا وعدہ نہیں کیا تھا؟ کیا (میری جدائی کی) مدت تمہیں دراز (معلوم) ہوئی یا تم نے چاہا کہ تم پر تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے غضب نازل ہو۔ اور (اس لئے) تم نے مجھ سے جو وعدہ کیا تھا (اس کے) خلاف کیا
Mehmood Al Hassanپھر الٹا پھرا موسٰی اپنی قوم کے پاس غصہ میں بھرا پچتاتا ہوا کہا اے قوم کیا تم سے وعدہ نہ کیا تھا تمہارے رب نے اچھا وعدہ کیا طویل ہو گئ تم پر مدت یا چاہا تم نے کہ اترے تم پر غضب تمہارے رب کا اس لئے خلاف کیا تم نے میرا وعدہ
Abul Ala Maududiموسیٰؑ سخت غصّے اور رنج کی حالت میں اپنی قوم کی طرف پلٹا جا کر اُس نے کہا "اے میری قوم کے لوگو، کیا تمہارے رب نے تم سے اچھے وعدے نہیں کیے تھے؟ کیا تمہیں دن لگ گئے ہیں؟ یا تم اپنے رب کا غضب ہی اپنے اوپر لانا چاہتے تھے کہ تم نے مجھ سے وعدہ خلافی کی؟"

LiteralSo Moses returned to his nation, angry sorrowfully/angrily. He said: "My nation, did not your Lord promise you a good/beautiful promise, did the promise/contract become long/last long on you, or you wanted/intended that anger (be) placed on you from your Lord, so you broke my appointment?"
Yusuf AliSo Moses returned to his people in a state of indignation and sorrow. He said: "O my people! did not your Lord make a handsome promise to you? PickthalThen Moses went back unto his folk, angry and sad. He said: O my people! Hath not your Lord promised you a fair promise? Did the time appointed then appear too long for you, or did ye wish that wrath from your Lord should come upon you, that ye broke tryst with me?
Arberry Then Moses returned very angry and sorrowful to his people, saying, 'My people, did your Lord not promise a fair promise to you? Did the time of the covenant seem so long to you, or did you desire that anger should alight on you from your Lord, so that you failed in your tryst with me?'
ShakirSo Musa returned to his people wrathful, sorrowing. Said he: O my people! did not your Lord promise you a goodly promise: did then the time seem long to you, or did you wish that displeasure from your Lord should be due to you, so that you broke (your) promise to me?
SarwarMoses, sad and angry, returned to his people saying, "My people, did not the Lord make you a gracious promise? Why did you disregard your appointment with me? Was it because of the long time or did you want to become subject to the wrath of your Lord?".

Hilali/Khan**Then Moosa (Moses) returned to his people in a state of anger and sorrow. He said: "O my people! Did not your Lord promise you a fair promise? Did then the promise seem to you long in coming? Or did you desire that wrath should descend from your Lord on you, so you broke your promise to me (i.e disbelieving in Allah and worshipping the calf)?"
