| 1. [27:30] | Innahu min sulaymana wa-innahu bismiAllahi alrrahmani alrraheemi |  إنه من سليمان وإنه بسم الله الرحمن الرحيمإِنَّهُ مِن سُلَيْمَانَ وَإِنَّهُ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | (اس کامضمون یہ ہے) کہ تم لوگ مجھ پر سربلندی (کی کوشش) مت کرو اور فرمانبردار ہو کر میرے پاس آجاؤ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "'Be ye not arrogant against me, but come to me in submission (to the true Religion).'"

| Tahir ul Qadri | (ملکہ نے) کہا: اے دربار والو! تم مجھے میرے (اس) معاملہ میں مشورہ دو، میں کسی کام کا قطعی فیصلہ کرنے والی نہیں ہوں یہاں تک کہ تم میرے پاس حاضر ہو کر (اس اَمر کے موافق یا مخالف) گواہی دو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | She said: "Ye chiefs! advise me in (this) my affair: no affair have I decided except in your presence."

| 4. [27:33] | Qaloo nahnu oloo quwwatinwaoloo ba/sin shadeedin waal-amru ilayki faonthureematha ta/mureena | قالوا نحن أولو قوة وأولو بأس شديد والأمر إليك فانظري ماذا تأمرين قَالُوا نَحْنُ أُوْلُوا قُوَّةٍ وَأُولُوا بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ وَالْأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَانظُرِي مَاذَا تَأْمُرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | انہوں نے کہا: ہم طاقتور اور سخت جنگ جُو ہیں مگر حکم آپ کے اختیار میں ہے سو آپ (خود ہی) غور کر لیں کہ آپ کیا حکم دیتی ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They said: "We are endued with strength, and given to vehement war: but the command is with thee; so consider what thou wilt command."

[27:34] | Qalat inna almulooka ithadakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahlihaathillatan wakathalika yafAAaloona | قالت إن الملوك إذا دخلوا قرية أفسدوها وجعلوا أعزة أهلها أذلة وكذلك يفعلون قَالَتْ إِنَّ الْمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُوا قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوا أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِهَا أَذِلَّةً وَكَذَلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (ملکہ نے) کہا: بیشک جب بادشاہ کسی بستی میں داخل ہوتے ہیں تواسے تباہ و برباد کر دیتے ہیں اور وہاں کے باعزت لوگوں کو ذلیل و رسوا کر ڈالتے ہیں اور یہ (لوگ بھی) اسی طرح کریں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | She said: "Kings, when they enter a country, despoil it, and make the noblest of its people its meanest thus do they behave.

| 6. [27:35] | Wa-innee mursilatun ilayhim bihadiyyatin fanathiratunbima yarjiAAu almursaloona | وإني مرسلة إليهم بهدية فناظرة بم يرجع المرسلون وَإِنِّي مُرْسِلَةٌ إِلَيْهِم بِهَدِيَّةٍ فَنَاظِرَةٌ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ الْمُرْسَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک میں ان کی طرف کچھ تحفہ بھیجنے والی ہوں پھر دیکھتی ہوں قاصد کیا جواب لے کر واپس لوٹتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "But I am going to send him a present, and (wait) to see with what (answer) return (my) ambassadors."

[27:36] | Falamma jaa sulaymana qalaatumiddoonani bimalin fama ataniyaAllahu khayrun mimma atakum bal antumbihadiyyatikum tafrahoona | فلما جاء سليمان قال أتمدونن بمال فما آتاني الله خير مما آتاكم بل أنتم بهديتكم تفرحون فَلَمَّا جَاءَ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍ فَمَا آتَانِيَ اللَّهُ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا آتَاكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو جب وہ (قاصد) سلیمان (علیہ السلام) کے پاس آیا (تو سلیمان علیہ السلام نے اس سے) فرمایا: کیا تم لوگ مال و دولت سے میری مدد کرنا چاہتے ہو۔ سو جو کچھ اللہ نے مجھے عطا فرمایا ہے اس (دولت) سے بہتر ہے جو اس نے تمہیں عطا کی ہے بلکہ تم ہی ہو جو اپنے تحفہ سے فرحاں (اور) نازاں ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Now when (the embassy) came to Solomon, he said: "Will ye give me abundance in wealth? But that which Allah has given me is better than that which He has given you! Nay it is ye who rejoice in your gift!

[27:37] | IrjiAA ilayhim falana/tiyannahum bijunoodinla qibala lahum biha walanukhrijannahum minhaathillatan wahum saghiroona | ارجع إليهم فلنأتينهم بجنود لا قبل لهم بها ولنخرجنهم منها أذلة وهم صاغرون ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمْ فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُمْ بِجُنُودٍ لَّا قِبَلَ لَهُم بِهَا وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُم مِّنْهَا أَذِلَّةً وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو ان کے پاس (تحفہ سمیت) واپس پلٹ جا سو ہم ان پر ایسے لشکروں کے ساتھ (حملہ کرنے) آئیں گے جن سے انہیں مقابلہ (کی طاقت) نہیں ہوگی اور ہم انہیں وہاں سے بے عزت کر کے اس حال میں نکالیں گے کہ وہ (قیدی بن کر) رسوا ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Go back to them, and be sure we shall come to them with such hosts as they will never be able to meet: We shall expel them from there in disgrace, and they will feel humbled (indeed)."

| 9. [27:38] | Qala ya ayyuha almalaoayyukum ya/teenee biAAarshiha qabla an ya/toonee muslimeena | قال يا أيها الملأ أيكم يأتيني بعرشها قبل أن يأتوني مسلمين قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَلَأُ أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِينِي بِعَرْشِهَا قَبْلَ أَن يَأْتُونِي مُسْلِمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (سلیمان علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: اے دربار والو! تم میں سے کون اس (ملکہ) کا تخت میرے پاس لا سکتا ہے قبل اس کے کہ وہ لوگ فرمانبردار ہو کر میرے پاس آجائیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said (to his own men): "Ye chiefs! which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"

[27:39] | Qala AAifreetun mina aljinni anaateeka bihi qabla an taqooma min maqamika wa-inneAAalayhi laqawiyyun ameenun | قال عفريت من الجن أنا آتيك به قبل أن تقوم من مقامك وإني عليه لقوي أمين قَالَ عِفْرِيتٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَن تَقُومَ مِن مَّقَامِكَ وَإِنِّي عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِيٌّ أَمِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ایک قوی ہیکل جِن نے عرض کیا: میں اسے آپ کے پاس لاسکتا ہوں قبل اس کے کہ آپ اپنے مقام سے اٹھیں اور بیشک میں اس (کے لانے) پر طاقتور (اور) امانت دار ہوں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Said an 'Ifrit, of the Jinns: "I will bring it to thee before thou rise from thy council: indeed I have full strength for the purpose, and may be trusted."

[27:40] | Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmunmina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla anyartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahumustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadlirabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fa-innamayashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun | قال الذي عنده علم من الكتاب أنا آتيك به قبل أن يرتد إليك طرفك فلما رآه مستقرا عنده قال هذا من فضل ربي ليبلوني أأشكر أم أكفر ومن شكر فإنما يشكر لنفسه ومن كفر فإن ربي غني كريم قَالَ الَّذِي عِندَهُ عِلْمٌ مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَن يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِندَهُ قَالَ هَذَا مِن فَضْلِ رَبِّي لِيَبْلُوَنِي أَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ وَمَن شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّي غَنِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (پھر) ایک ایسے شخص نے عرض کیا جس کے پاس (آسمانی) کتاب کا کچھ علم تھا کہ میں اسے آپ کے پاس لا سکتا ہوں قبل اس کے کہ آپ کی نگاہ آپ کی طرف پلٹے (یعنی پلک جھپکنے سے بھی پہلے)، پھر جب (سلیمان علیہ السلام نے) اس (تخت) کو اپنے پاس رکھا ہوا دیکھا (تو) کہا: یہ میرے رب کا فضل ہے تاکہ وہ مجھے آزمائے کہ آیا میں شکر گزاری کرتا ہوں یا نا شکری، اور جس نے (اللہ کا) شکر ادا کیا سو وہ محض اپنی ہی ذات کے فائدہ کے لئے شکر مندی کرتا ہے اور جس نے ناشکری کی تو بیشک میرا رب بے نیاز، کرم فرمانے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Said one who had knowledge of the Book: "I will bring it to thee within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord!- to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! and if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Free of all Needs, Supreme in Honour !"

| 12. [27:41] | Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshahananthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheenala yahtadoona | قال نكروا لها عرشها ننظر أتهتدي أم تكون من الذين لا يهتدون قَالَ نَكِّرُوا لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِي أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (سلیمان علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: اس(ملکہ کے امتحان) کے لئے اس کے تخت کی صورت اور ہیئت بدل دو ہم دیکھیں گے کہ آیا وہ (پہچان کی) راہ پاتی ہے یا ان میں سے ہوتی ہے جو سوجھ بوجھ نہیں رکھتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "Transform her throne out of all recognition by her: let us see whether she is guided (to the truth) or is one of those who receive no guidance."

[27:42] | Falamma jaat qeela ahakathaAAarshuki qalat kaannahu huwa waooteena alAAilmamin qabliha wakunna muslimeena | فلما جاءت قيل أهكذا عرشك قالت كأنه هو وأوتينا العلم من قبلها وكنا مسلمين فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَكَذَا عَرْشُكِ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّهُ هُوَ وَأُوتِينَا الْعِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر جب وہ (ملکہ) آئی تو اس سے کہا گیا: کیا تمہارا تخت اسی طرح کا ہے، وہ کہنے لگی: گویا یہ وہی ہے اور ہمیں اس سے پہلے ہی (نبوتِ سلیمان کے حق ہونے کا) علم ہو چکا تھا اور ہم مسلمان ہو چکے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So when she arrived, she was asked, "Is this thy throne?" She said, "It was just like this; and knowledge was bestowed on us in advance of this, and we have submitted to Allah (in Islam)."

| 14. [27:43] | Wasaddaha ma kanattaAAbudu min dooni Allahi innaha kanat minqawmin kafireena | وصدها ما كانت تعبد من دون الله إنها كانت من قوم كافرين وَصَدَّهَا مَا كَانَت تَّعْبُدُ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ مِن قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس (ملکہ) کو اس (معبودِ باطل) نے (پہلے قبولِ حق سے) روک رکھا تھا جس کی وہ اللہ کے سوا پرستش کرتی رہی تھی۔ بیشک وہ کافروں کی قوم میں سے تھی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And he diverted her from the worship of others besides Allah: for she was (sprung) of a people that had no faith.

[27:44] | Qeela laha odkhulee alssarhafalamma raat-hu hasibat-hu lujjatan wakashafat AAansaqayha qala innahu sarhunmumarradun min qawareera qalat rabbi innee thalamtunafsee waaslamtu maAAa sulaymana lillahi rabbi alAAalameena | قيل لها ادخلي الصرح فلما رأته حسبته لجة وكشفت عن ساقيها قال إنه صرح ممرد من قوارير قالت رب إني ظلمت نفسي وأسلمت مع سليمان لله رب العالمين قِيلَ لَهَا ادْخُلِي الصَّرْحَ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُ حَسِبَتْهُ لُجَّةً وَكَشَفَتْ عَن سَاقَيْهَا قَالَ إِنَّهُ صَرْحٌ مُّمَرَّدٌ مِّن قَوَارِيرَ قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَانَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس (ملکہ) سے کہا گیا: اس محل کے صحن میں داخل ہو جا (جس کے نیچے نیلگوں پانی کی لہریں چلتی تھیں)، پھر جب ملکہ نے اس (مزیّن بلوریں فرش) کو دیکھا تو اسے گہرے پانی کا تالاب سمجھا اور اس نے (پائینچے اٹھا کر) اپنی دونوں پنڈلیاں کھول دیں، سلیمان (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: یہ تو محل کا شیشوں جڑا صحن ہے، اس (ملکہ) نے عرض کیا: اے میرے پروردگار! (میں اسی طرح فریبِ نظر میں مبتلا تھی) بیشک میں نے اپنی جان پر ظلم کیا اور اب میں سلیمان (علیہ السلام) کی معیّت میں اس اللہ کی فرمانبردار ہو گئی ہوں جو تمام جہانوں کا رب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | She was asked to enter the lofty Palace: but when she saw it, she thought it was a lake of water, and she (tucked up her skirts), uncovering her legs. He said: "This is but a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass." She said: "O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul: I do (now) submit (in Islam), with Solomon, to the Lord of the Worlds."

[27:45] | Walaqad arsalna ila thamoodaakhahum salihan ani oAAbudoo Allahafa-itha hum fareeqani yakhtasimoona | ولقد أرسلنا إلى ثمود أخاهم صالحا أن اعبدوا الله فإذا هم فريقان يختصمون وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے قومِ ثمود کے پاس ان کے (قومی) بھائی صالح (علیہ السلام) کو (پیغمبر بنا کر) بھیجا کہ تم لوگ اللہ کی عبادت کرو تو اس وقت وہ دو فرقے ہو گئے جو آپس میں جھگڑتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We sent (aforetime), to the Thamud, their brother Salih, saying, "Serve Allah": But behold, they became two factions quarrelling with each other.

[27:46] | Qala ya qawmi limatastaAAjiloona bialssayyi-ati qabla alhasanati lawlatastaghfiroona Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona | قال يا قوم لم تستعجلون بالسيئة قبل الحسنة لولا تستغفرون الله لعلكم ترحمون قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَسَنَةِ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (صالح علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: اے میری قوم! تم لوگ بھلائی (یعنی رحمت) سے پہلے برائی (یعنی عذاب) میں کیوں جلدی چاہتے ہو؟ تم اللہ سے بخشش کیوں طلب نہیں کرتے تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "O my people! why ask ye to hasten on the evil in preference to the good? If only ye ask Allah for forgiveness, ye may hope to receive mercy.

| Words | |قال - He said,| يا - O| قوم - "O my people!| لم - Why| تستعجلون - (do) you seek to hasten| بالسيئة - the evil| قبل - before| الحسنة - the good?| لولا - Why not| تستغفرون - you ask forgiveness| الله - (of) Allah| لعلكم - so that you may| ترحمون - receive mercy?"| | ||||||
| 18. [27:47] | Qaloo ittayyarna bikawabiman maAAaka qala ta-irukum AAinda Allahibal antum qawmun tuftanoona | قالوا اطيرنا بك وبمن معك قال طائركم عند الله بل أنتم قوم تفتنون قَالُوا اطَّيَّرْنَا بِكَ وَبِمَن مَّعَكَ قَالَ طَائِرُكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تُفْتَنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ کہنے لگے: ہمیں تم سے (بھی) نحوست پہنچی ہے اور ان لوگوں سے (بھی) جو تمہارے ساتھ ہیں۔ (صالح علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: تمہاری نحوست (کا سبب) اللہ کے پاس (لکھا ہوا) ہے بلکہ تم لوگ فتنہ میں مبتلا کئے گئے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They said: "Ill omen do we augur from thee and those that are with thee". He said: "Your ill omen is with Allah; yea, ye are a people under trial."

| Words | |قالوا - They said,| اطيرنا - "We consider you a bad omen| بك - "We consider you a bad omen| وبمن - and those| معك - with you."| قال - He said,| طائركم - "Your bad omen| عند - (is) with| الله - Allah.| بل - Nay,| أنتم - you| قوم - (are) a people| تفتنون - being tested."| | ||||||
| 19. [27:48] | Wakana fee almadeenati tisAAatu rahtinyufsidoona fee al-ardi wala yuslihoona | وكان في المدينة تسعة رهط يفسدون في الأرض ولا يصلحون وَكَانَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَةُ رَهْطٍ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (قومِ ثمود کے) شہر میں نو سرکردہ لیڈر (جو اپنی اپنی جماعتوں کے سربراہ) تھے ملک میں فساد پھیلاتے تھے اور اصلاح نہیں کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | There were in the city nine men of a family, who made mischief in the land, and would not reform.

| Words | |وكان - And were| في - in| المدينة - the city| تسعة - nine| رهط - family heads,| يفسدون - they were spreading corruption| في - in| الأرض - the land| ولا - and not| يصلحون - reforming.| | ||||||

[27:49] | Qaloo taqasamoo biAllahilanubayyitannahu waahlahu thumma lanaqoolanna liwaliyyihi mashahidna mahlika ahlihi wa-inna lasadiqoona | قالوا تقاسموا بالله لنبيتنه وأهله ثم لنقولن لوليه ما شهدنا مهلك أهله وإنا لصادقون قَالُوا تَقَاسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُ وَأَهْلَهُ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (ان سرغنوں نے) کہا: تم آپس میں اللہ کی قسم کھا کر عہد کرو کہ ہم ضرور رات کو صالح (علیہ السلام) اور اس کے گھر والوں پر قاتلانہ حملہ کریں گے پھر ان کے وارثوں سے کہہ دیں گے کہ ہم ان کی ہلاکت کے موقع پر حاضر ہی نہ تھے اور بیشک ہم سچے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They said: "Swear a mutual oath by Allah that we shall make a secret night attack on him and his people, and that we shall then say to his heir (when he seeks vengeance): 'We were not present at the slaughter of his people, and we are positively telling the truth.'"

| Words | |قالوا - They said,| تقاسموا - "Swear to each other| بالله - by Allah| لنبيتنه - surely, we will attack him by night,| وأهله - and his family.| ثم - Then| لنقولن - we will surely say| لوليه - to his heir,| ما - "Not| شهدنا - we witnessed| مهلك - (the) destruction| أهله - (of) his family,| وإنا - and indeed, we| لصادقون - (are) surely truthful."| | ||||||
| 21. [27:50] | Wamakaroo makran wamakarna makranwahum la yashAAuroona | ومكروا مكرا ومكرنا مكرا وهم لا يشعرون وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا وَمَكَرْنَا مَكْرًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور انہوں نے خفیہ سازش کی اور ہم نے (بھی اس کے توڑ کے لئے) خفیہ تدبیر فرمائی اور انہیں خبر بھی نہ ہوئی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They plotted and planned, but We too planned, even while they perceived it not.

| Words | |ومكروا - So they plotted| مكرا - a plot| ومكرنا - and We planned| مكرا - a plan,| وهم - while they| لا - (did) not| يشعرون - perceive.| | ||||||
| 22. [27:51] | Faonthur kayfa kanaAAaqibatu makrihim anna dammarnahumwaqawmahum ajmaAAeena | فانظر كيف كان عاقبة مكرهم أنا دمرناهم وقومهم أجمعين فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا دَمَّرْنَاهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو آپ دیکھئے کہ ان کی (مکارانہ) سازش کا انجام کیسا ہوا، بیشک ہم نے ان (سرداروں) کو اور ان کی ساری قوم کو تباہ و برباد کر دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then see what was the end of their plot!- this, that We destroyed them and their people, all (of them).

| Words | |فانظر - Then see| كيف - how| كان - was| عاقبة - (the) end| مكرهم - (of) their plot,| أنا - that We| دمرناهم - destroyed them| وقومهم - and their people| أجمعين - all.| | ||||||
| 23. [27:52] | Fatilka buyootuhum khawiyatan bimathalamoo inna fee thalika laayatanliqawmin yaAAlamoona | فتلك بيوتهم خاوية بما ظلموا إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يعلمون فَتِلْكَ بُيُوتُهُمْ خَاوِيَةً بِمَا ظَلَمُوا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو یہ ان کے گھر ویران پڑے ہیں اس لئے کہ انہوں نے ظلم کیا تھا۔ بیشک اس میں اس قوم کے لئے (عبرت کی) نشانی ہے جو علم رکھتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Now such were their houses, - in utter ruin, - because they practised wrong-doing. Verily in this is a Sign for people of knowledge.

| Words | |فتلك - So, these| بيوتهم - (are) their houses,| خاوية - ruined| بما - because| ظلموا - they wronged.| إن - Indeed,| في - in| ذلك - that| لآية - surely, is a sign| لقوم - for a people| يعلمون - who know.| | ||||||
| 24. [27:53] | Waanjayna allatheena amanoowakanoo yattaqoona | وأنجينا الذين آمنوا وكانوا يتقون وَأَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے ان لوگوں کو نجات بخشی جو ایمان لائے اور تقوٰی شعار ہوئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We saved those who believed and practised righteousness.

| Words | |وأنجينا - And We saved| الذين - those who| آمنوا - believed| وكانوا - and used (to)| يتقون - fear (Allah).| | ||||||
| 25. [27:54] | Walootan ith qalaliqawmihi ata/toona alfahishata waantum tubsiroona | ولوطا إذ قال لقومه أتأتون الفاحشة وأنتم تبصرون وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور لوط (علیہ السلام) کو (یاد کریں) جب انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے فرمایا: کیا تم بے حیائی کا ارتکاب کرتے ہو حالانکہ تم دیکھتے (بھی) ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (We also sent) Lut (as a messenger): behold, He said to his people, "Do ye do what is shameful though ye see (its iniquity)?

| Words | |ولوطا - And Lut,| إذ - when| قال - he said| لقومه - to his people,| أتأتون - "Do you commit| الفاحشة - [the] immorality| وأنتم - while you| تبصرون - see?| | ||||||
| 26. [27:55] | A-innakum lata/toona alrrijalashahwatan min dooni alnnisa-i bal antum qawmuntajhaloona | أئنكم لتأتون الرجال شهوة من دون النساء بل أنتم قوم تجهلون أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاءِ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا تم اپنی نفسانی خواہش پوری کرنے کے لئے عورتوں کو چھوڑ کر مَردوں کے پاس جاتے ہو بلکہ تم جاہل لوگ ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant!

| Words | |أئنكم - Why do you| لتأتون - approach| الرجال - the men| شهوة - (with) lust| من - instead of| دون - instead of| النساء - the women?| بل - Nay,| أنتم - you| قوم - (are) a people| تجهلون - ignorant."| | ||||||

[27:56] | Fama kana jawabaqawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoo ala lootinmin qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoona | فما كان جواب قومه إلا أن قالوا أخرجوا آل لوط من قريتكم إنهم أناس يتطهرون فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوا آلَ لُوطٍ مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو ان کی قوم کا جواب اس کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا کہ وہ کہنے لگے: تم لوط کے گھر والوں کو اپنی بستی سے نکال دو یہ بڑے پاک باز بنتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But his people gave no other answer but this: they said, "Drive out the followers of Lut from your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!"

| Words | |فما - But not| كان - was| جواب - (the) answer| قومه - (of) his people| إلا - except| أن - that| قالوا - they said,| أخرجوا - "Drive out| آل - (the) family| لوط - (of) Lut| من - from| قريتكم - your town.| إنهم - Indeed, they| أناس - (are) people| يتطهرون - who keep clean and pure."| | ||||||
| 28. [27:57] | Faanjaynahu waahlahu illaimraatahu qaddarnaha mina alghabireena | فأنجيناه وأهله إلا امرأته قدرناها من الغابرين فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَاهَا مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس ہم نے لوط (علیہ السلام) کو اور ان کے گھر والوں کو نجات بخشی سوائے ان کی بیوی کے کہ ہم نے اسے (عذاب کے لئے) پیچھے رہ جانے والوں میں سے مقرر کر لیا تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But We saved him and his family, except his wife; her We destined to be of those who lagged behind.

| Words | |فأنجيناه - So We saved him| وأهله - and his family,| إلا - except| امرأته - his wife;| قدرناها - We destined her| من - (to be) of| الغابرين - those who remained behind.| | ||||||
| 29. [27:58] | Waamtarna AAalayhim mataranfasaa mataru almunthareena | وأمطرنا عليهم مطرا فساء مطر المنذرين وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَسَاءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنذَرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے ان پر خوب (پتھروں کی) بارش برسائی، سو (ان) ڈرائے گئے لوگوں پر (پتھروں کی) بارش نہایت ہی بری تھی۔ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!

| Words | |وأمطرنا - And We rained| عليهم - upon them| مطرا - a rain,| فساء - and was evil| مطر - (the) rain| المنذرين - (on) those who were warned.| | ||||||
| 30. [27:59] | Quli alhamdu lillahi wasalamunAAala AAibadihi allatheena istafaallahu khayrun amma yushrikoona | قل الحمد لله وسلام على عباده الذين اصطفى آلله خير أما يشركون قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَى آللَّهُ خَيْرٌ أَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | فرما دیجئے کہ تمام تعریفیں اللہ ہی کے لئے ہیں اور اس کے منتخب (برگزیدہ) بندوں پر سلامتی ہو، کیا اللہ ہی بہتر ہے یا وہ (معبودانِ باطلہ) جنہیں یہ لوگ (اس کا) شریک ٹھہراتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say: Praise be to Allah, and Peace on his servants whom He has chosen (for his Message). (Who) is better?- Allah or the false gods they associate (with Him)?
