Falamma an arada an yabtishabiallathee huwa AAaduwwun lahuma qalaya moosa atureedu an taqtulanee kama qataltanafsan bial-amsi in tureedu illa an takoona jabbaranfee al-ardi wama tureedu an takoona mina almusliheena فلما أن أراد أن يبطش بالذي هو عدو لهما قال يا موسى أتريد أن تقتلني كما قتلت نفسا بالأمس إن تريد إلا أن تكون جبارا في الأرض وما تريد أن تكون من المصلحين
فَلَمَّا أَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَبْطِشَ بِالَّذِي هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَا مُوسَى أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقْتُلَنِي كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا بِالْأَمْسِ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّا أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ

  سو جب انہوں نے ارادہ کیا کہ اس شخص کو پکڑیں جو ان دونوں کا دشمن ہے تو وہ بول اٹھا: اے موسٰی! کیا تم مجھے (بھی) قتل کرنا چاہتے ہو جیسا کہ تم نے کل ایک شخص کو قتل کر ڈالا تھا۔ تم صرف یہی چاہتے ہو کہ ملک میں بڑے جابر بن جاؤ اور تم یہ نہیں چاہتے کہ اصلاح کرنے والوں میں سے بنو

Yousuf AliThen, when he decided to lay hold of the man who was an enemy to both of them, that man said: "O Moses! Is it thy intention to slay me as thou slewest a man yesterday? Thy intention is none other than to become a powerful violent man in the land, and not to be one who sets things right!"

Ahmed Aliپھر جب ارادہ کیا کہ اس پر ہاتھ ڈالے جو ان دونوں کا دشمن تھا کہا اے موسیٰ! کیا تو چاہتا ہے کہ مجھے مار ڈالے جیسا تو نے کل ایک آدمی کو مار ڈالا ہے تو یہی چاہتا ہے کہ ملک میں زبردستی کرتا پھرے اور تو نہیں چاہتا کہ اصلاح کرنے والوں میں سے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khanتو جب موسیٰ نے چاہا کہ اس پر گرفت کرے جو ان دونوں کا دشمن ہے وہ بولا اے موسیٰ کیا تم مجھے ویسا ہی قتل کرنا چاہتے ہو جیسا تم نے کل ایک شخص کو قتل کردیا، تم تو یہی چاہتے ہو کہ زمین میں سخت گیر بنو اور اصلاح کرنا نہیں چاہتے
Shabbir Ahmed پھر جب ارادہ کیا موسیٰ نے کہ پکڑیں اس کو جو دُشمن تھا دونوں کا تو وہ پُکار اُتھا: اے موسیٰ کیا تم چاہتے ہو کہ قتل کر دو مجھے جیسے تم نے قتل کردیا تھا ایک انسان کو کل؟ نہیں چاہتے ہو تم مگر یہ کہ بن کر رہو جبّار اس سرزمین میں اور نہیں چاہتے تم کہ ہو اصلاح کرنے والوں میں سے۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyجب موسٰی نے ارادہ کیا کہ اس شخص کو جو ان دونوں کا دشمن تھا پکڑ لیں تو وہ (یعنی موسٰی کی قوم کا آدمی) بول اُٹھا کہ جس طرح تم نے کل ایک شخص کو مار ڈالا تھا اسی طرح چاہتے ہو کہ مجھے بھی مار ڈالو۔ تم تو یہی چاہتے ہو کہ ملک میں ظلم وستم کرتے پھرو اور یہ نہیں چاہتے ہو کہ نیکو کاروں میں ہو
Mehmood Al Hassanپھر جب چاہا کہ ہاتھ ڈالے اس پر جو دشمن تھا ان دونوں کا بول اٹھا اے موسٰی کیا تو چاہتا ہے کہ خون کرے میرا جیسے خون کر چکا ہے کل ایک جان کا تیرا یہی جی چاہتا ہے کہ زبردستی کرتا پھرے ملک میں اور نہیں چاہتا کہ ہو صلح کرا دینے والا
Abul Ala Maududiپھر جب موسیٰؑ نے ارادہ کیا کہ دشمن قوم کے آدمی پر حملہ کرے تو وہ پکار اٹھا "اے موسیٰؑ، کیا آج تو مجھے اُسی طرح قتل کرنے لگا ہے جس طرح کل ایک شخص کو قتل کر چکا ہے، تو اس ملک میں جبّار بن کر رہنا چاہتا ہے، اصلاح نہیں کرنا چاہتا"

Hilali/Khan**Then when he decided to seize the man who was an enemy to both of them, the man said: "O Moosa (Moses)! Is it your intention to kill me as you killed a man yesterday? Your aim is nothing but to become a tyrant in the land, and not to be one of those who do right."
