| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [3:152] | Walaqad sadaqakumu AllahuwaAAdahu ith tahussoonahum bi-ithnihi hattaitha fashiltum watanazaAAtum fee al-amri waAAasaytummin baAAdi ma arakum ma tuhibboonaminkum man yureedu alddunya waminkum man yureedual-akhirata thumma sarafakum AAanhum liyabtaliyakumwalaqad AAafa AAankum waAllahu thoofadlin AAala almu/mineena |  ولقد صدقكم الله وعده إذ تحسونهم بإذنه حتى إذا فشلتم وتنازعتم في الأمر وعصيتم من بعد ما أراكم ما تحبون منكم من يريد الدنيا ومنكم من يريد الآخرة ثم صرفكم عنهم ليبتليكم ولقد عفا عنكم والله ذو فضل على المؤمنينوَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ اللّهُ وَعْدَهُ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا أَرَاكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ الدُّنْيَا وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ الْآخِرَةَ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنكُمْ وَاللّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک اللہ نے تمہیں اپنا وعدہ سچ کر دکھایا جب تم اس کے حکم سے انہیں قتل کر رہے تھے، یہاں تک کہ تم نے بزدلی کی اور (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے) حکم کے بارے میں جھگڑنے لگے اور تم نے اس کے بعد (ان کی) نافرمانی کی جب کہ اللہ نے تمہیں وہ (فتح) دکھا دی تھی جو تم چاہتے تھے، تم میں سے کوئی دنیا کا خواہش مند تھا اور تم میں سے کوئی آخرت کا طلب گار تھا، پھر اس نے تمہیں ان سے (مغلوب کر کے) پھیر دیا تاکہ وہ تمہیں آزمائے، (بعد ازاں) اس نے تمہیں معاف کر دیا، اور اللہ اہلِ ایمان پر بڑے فضل والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Allah did indeed fulfil His promise to you when ye with His permission Were about to annihilate your enemy,-until ye flinched and fell to disputing about the order, and disobeyed it after He brought you in sight (of the booty) which ye covet. Among you are some that hanker after this world and some that desire the Hereafter. Then did He divert you from your foes in order to test you but He forgave you: For Allah is full of grace to those who believe.

| Shabbir Ahmed | اور یقیناً سچ کر دکھایا تھا تم کو اللہ نے تو اپنا وعدہ جب بے دریغ قتل کر رہے تھے تم ان کو اللہ کے حُکم سے۔ حتّٰی کہ جب ڈھیلے پڑگئے تم خود ہی اور اختلاف کیا تم نے حکم کے بارے میں اور حکم عدولی کی تم نے بعد اس کے کہ دکھادی تمہیں اللہ نے وہ چیز جو تمہیں محبوب تھی۔ تم میں سے کچھ وہ تھے جو طلب گار تھے دُنیا کے اور تم میں سے کچھ وہ تھے جو طلب گار تھے آخرت کے، تب پسپا کردیا اللہ نے تمہیں دُشمنوں کے سامنے سے تاکہ آزمائش کرے تمہاری اور حق یہ ہے کہ اللہ نے (پھر بھی) معاف کردیا تمہیں۔ اور اللہ بہت فضل والا ہے مومنوں پر۔ | ||||||
| Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | اور خدا نے اپنا وعدہ سچا کر دیا (یعنی) اس وقت جبکہ تم کافروں کو اس کے حکم سے قتل کر رہے تھے یہاں تک کہ جو تم چاہتے تھے خدا نے تم کو دکھا دیا اس کے بعد تم نے ہمت ہار دی اور حکم (پیغمبر) میں جھگڑا کرنے لگے اور اس کی نافرمانی کی بعض تو تم میں سے دنیا کے خواستگار تھے اور بعض آخرت کے طالب اس وقت خدا نے تم کو ان (کے مقابلے) سے پھیر (کر بھگا) دیا تاکہ تمہاری آزمائش کرے اور اس نے تمہارا قصور معاف کر دیا اور خدا مومنو پر بڑا فضل کرنے والا ہے | ||||||

| Abul Ala Maududi | اللہ نے (تائید و نصرت کا) جو وعدہ تم سے کیا تھا وہ تو اُس نے پورا کر دیا ابتدا میں اُس کے حکم سے تم ہی اُن کو قتل کر رہے تھے مگر جب تم نے کمزوری دکھائی اور اپنے کام میں باہم اختلاف کیا، اور جونہی کہ وہ چیز اللہ نے تمہیں دکھائی جس کی محبت میں تم گرفتار تھے (یعنی مال غنیمت) تم اپنے سردار کے حکم کی خلاف ورزی کر بیٹھے اس لیے کہ تم میں سے کچھ لوگ دنیا کے طالب تھے اور کچھ آخرت کی خواہش رکھتے تھے تب اللہ نے تمہیں کافروں کے مقابلہ میں پسپا کر دیا تاکہ تمہاری آزمائش کرے اور حق یہ ہے کہ اللہ نے پھر بھی تمہیں معاف ہی کر دیا کیونکہ مومنوں پر اللہ بڑی نظر عنایت رکھتا ہے | ||||||
