| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [37:34] | Inna kathalika nafAAalu bialmujrimeena |  إنا كذلك نفعل بالمجرمينإِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک ہم مُجرموں کے ساتھ ایسا ہی کیا کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners.

| Words | |إنا - Indeed, We| كذلك - thus,| نفعل - We deal| بالمجرمين - with the criminals.| | ||||||
| 2. [37:38] | Innakum latha-iqoo alAAathabial-aleemi | إنكم لذائقو العذاب الأليم إِنَّكُمْ لَذَائِقُوا الْعَذَابِ الْأَلِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک تم دردناک عذاب کا مزہ چکھنے والے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;-
| ||||||
| Words | |إنكم - Indeed, you| لذائقو - (will) surely taste| العذاب - the punishment| الأليم - painful,| | ||||||
| 3. [37:40] | Illa AAibada Allahialmukhlaseena | إلا عباد الله المخلصين إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (ہاں) مگر اللہ کے وہ (برگزیدہ و منتخب) بندے جنہیں (نفس اور نفسانیت سے) رہائی مل چکی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,-
| ||||||
| Words | |إلا - Except| عباد - (the) slaves| الله - (of) Allah| المخلصين - the chosen ones.| | ||||||
| 4. [37:30] | Wama kana lanaAAalaykum min sultanin bal kuntum qawman tagheena | وما كان لنا عليكم من سلطان بل كنتم قوما طاغين وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَاغِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہمارا تم پر کچھ زور (اور دباؤ) نہ تھا بلکہ تم خود سرکش لوگ تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion!

| Words | |وما - And not| كان - was| لنا - for us| عليكم - over you| من - any| سلطان - authority.| بل - Nay,| كنتم - you were| قوما - a people| طاغين - transgressing.| | ||||||
| 5. [37:31] | Fahaqqa AAalayna qawlu rabbinainna latha-iqoona | فحق علينا قول ربنا إنا لذائقون فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا لَذَائِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس ہم پر ہمارے رب کا فرمان ثابت ہوگیا۔ (اب) ہم ذائقۂ (عذاب) چکھنے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins).

| Words | |فحق - So has been proved true| علينا - against us| قول - (the) Word| ربنا - (of) our Lord;| إنا - indeed, we| لذائقون - (will) certainly taste.| | ||||||
| 6. [37:33] | Fa-innahum yawma-ithin fee alAAathabimushtarikoona | فإنهم يومئذ في العذاب مشتركون فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس اس دن عذاب میں وہ (سب) باہم شریک ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty.

| Words | |فإنهم - Then indeed, they| يومئذ - that Day| في - in| العذاب - the punishment| مشتركون - (will be) sharers.| | ||||||
| 7. [37:35] | Innahum kanoo itha qeela lahumla ilaha illa Allahu yastakbiroona | إنهم كانوا إذا قيل لهم لا إله إلا الله يستكبرون إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یقیناً وہ ایسے لوگ تھے کہ جب ان سے کہا جاتا کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی لائقِ عبادت نہیں تو وہ تکبّر کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride,

| Words | |إنهم - Indeed, they| كانوا - were,| إذا - when| قيل - it was said| لهم - to them,| لا - "(There is) no| إله - god| إلا - except| الله - Allah,"| يستكبرون - were arrogant| | ||||||
| 8. [37:41] | Ola-ika lahum rizqun maAAloomun | أولئك لهم رزق معلوم أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے لئے (صبح و شام) رزقِ خاص مقرّر ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For them is a Sustenance determined,
| ||||||
| Words | |أولئك - Those| لهم - for them| رزق - (will be) a provision| معلوم - determined,| | ||||||
| 9. [37:42] | Fawakihu wahum mukramoona | فواكه وهم مكرمون فَوَاكِهُ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (ہر قسم کے) میوے ہوں گے، اور ان کی تعظیم و تکریم ہوگی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity,
| ||||||
| Words | |فواكه - Fruits| وهم - and they| مكرمون - (will) be honored| | ||||||
| 10. [37:43] | Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi | في جنات النعيم فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | نعمتوں اور راحتوں کے باغات میں (مقیم ہوں گے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In Gardens of Felicity,

| Words | |في - In| جنات - Gardens| النعيم - (of) Delight| | ||||||
| 11. [37:36] | Wayaqooloona a-inna latarikoo alihatinalishaAAirin majnoonin | ويقولون أئنا لتاركو آلهتنا لشاعر مجنون وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوا آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کہتے تھے: کیا ہم ایک دیوانے شاعر کی خاطر اپنے معبودوں کو چھوڑنے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?"
| ||||||
| Words | |ويقولون - And they say,| أئنا - "Are we| لتاركو - to leave| آلهتنا - our gods| لشاعر - for a poet| مجنون - mad?"| | ||||||
| 12. [37:37] | Bal jaa bialhaqqi wasaddaqaalmursaleena | بل جاء بالحق وصدق المرسلين بَلْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (وہ نہ مجنوں ہے نہ شاعر) بلکہ وہ (دینِ) حق لے کر آئے ہیں اور انہوں نے (اللہ کے) پیغمبروں کی تصدیق کی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him).
| ||||||
| Words | |بل - Nay,| جاء - he has brought| بالحق - the truth| وصدق - and confirmed| المرسلين - the Messengers.| | ||||||
| 13. [37:39] | Wama tujzawna illa makuntum taAAmaloona | وما تجزون إلا ما كنتم تعملون وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تمہیں (کوئی) بدلہ نہیں دیا جائے گا مگر صرف اسی کا جو تم کیا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;-

| Words | |وما - And not| تجزون - you will be recompensed| إلا - except| ما - what| كنتم - you used to| تعملون - do,| | ||||||
| 14. [37:44] | AAala sururin mutaqabileena | على سرر متقابلين عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَابِلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تختوں پر مسند لگائے آمنے سامنے (جلوہ افروز ہوں گے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity):

| Words | |على - On| سرر - thrones| متقابلين - facing each other.| | ||||||
| 15. [37:45] | Yutafu AAalayhim bika/sin min maAAeenin | يطاف عليهم بكأس من معين يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُن پر چھلکتی ہوئی شرابِ (طہور) کے جام کا دور چل رہا ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain,
| ||||||
| Words | |يطاف - Will be circulated| عليهم - among them| بكأس - a cup| من - from| معين - a flowing spring,| | ||||||
| 16. [37:46] | Baydaa laththatin lilshsharibeena | بيضاء لذة للشاربين بَيْضَاءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّارِبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو نہایت سفید ہوگی، پینے والوں کے لئے سراسر لذّت ہوگی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof),
| ||||||
| Words | |بيضاء - White,| لذة - delicious| للشاربين - for the drinkers;| | ||||||
| 17. [37:49] | Kaannahunna baydun maknoonun | كأنهن بيض مكنون كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (وہ سفید و دلکش رنگت میں ایسے لگیں گی) گویا گرد و غبار سے محفوظ انڈے (رکھے) ہوں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded.
| ||||||
| Words | |كأنهن - As if they were| بيض - eggs,| مكنون - well protected.| | ||||||
| 18. [37:52] | Yaqoolu a-innaka lamina almusaddiqeena | يقول أإنك لمن المصدقين يَقُولُ أَئِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُصَدِّقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ (مجھے) کہتا تھا: کیا تم بھی (ان باتوں کا) یقین اور تصدیق کرنے والوں میں سے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)?

| Words | |يقول - Who (would) say,| أإنك - "Are you indeed| لمن - surely of| المصدقين - those who believe?| | ||||||
| 19. [37:54] | Qala hal antum muttaliAAoona | قال هل أنتم مطلعون قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر وہ (جنّتی) کہے گا: کیا تم (اُسے) جھانک کر دیکھو گے (کہ وہ کس حال میں ہے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?"
| ||||||
| Words | |قال - He (will) say,| هل - "Will| أنتم - you| مطلعون - be looking?"| | ||||||
| 20. [37:47] | La feeha ghawlun walahum AAanha yunzafoona | لا فيها غول ولا هم عنها ينزفون لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنْزَفُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | نہ اس میں کوئی ضرر یا سَر کا چکرانا ہوگا اور نہ وہ اس (کے پینے) سے بہک سکیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom.
| ||||||
| Words | |لا - Not| فيها - in it| غول - (is) bad effect| ولا - and not| هم - they| عنها - from it| ينزفون - will be intoxicated.| | ||||||
| 21. [37:48] | WaAAindahum qasiratu alttarfiAAeenun | وعندهم قاصرات الطرف عين وَعِنْدَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ عِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ان کے پہلو میں نگاہیں نیچی رکھنے والی، بڑی خوبصورت آنکھوں والی (حوریں بیٹھی) ہوں گی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty).

| Words | |وعندهم - And with them| قاصرات - (will be) companions of modest gaze| الطرف - (will be) companions of modest gaze| عين - (having) beautiful eyes,| | ||||||
| 22. [37:50] | Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdinyatasaaloona | فأقبل بعضهم على بعض يتساءلون فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر وہ (جنّتی) آپس میں متوجہ ہو کر ایک دوسرے سے (حال و احوال) دریافت کریں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then they will turn to one another and question one another.
| ||||||
| Words | |فأقبل - And (will) approach| بعضهم - some of them| على - to| بعض - others| يتساءلون - questioning one another.| | ||||||
| 23. [37:51] | Qala qa-ilun minhum innee kanalee qareenun | قال قائل منهم إني كان لي قرين قَالَ قَائِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّي كَانَ لِي قَرِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ان میں سے ایک کہنے والا (دوسرے سے) کہے گا کہ میرا ایک ملنے والا تھا (جو آخرت کا منکِر تھا) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth),

| Words | |قال - Will say| قائل - a speaker| منهم - among them,| إني - "Indeed, I| كان - had| لي - for me| قرين - a companion,| | ||||||
| 24. [37:53] | A-itha mitna wakunnaturaban waAAithaman a-innalamadeenoona | أإذا متنا وكنا ترابا وعظاما أإنا لمدينون أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَئِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا جب ہم مر جائیں گے اور ہم مٹی اور ہڈیاں ہو جائیں گے تو کیا ہمیں (اس حال میں) بدلہ دیا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'"

| Words | |أإذا - Is (it) when| متنا - we have died| وكنا - and become| ترابا - dust| وعظاما - and bones,| أإنا - will we| لمدينون - surely be brought to Judgment?"| | ||||||
| 25. [37:58] | Afama nahnu bimayyiteena | أفما نحن بميتين أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو (جنّتی خوشی سے پوچھیں گے:) کیا اب ہم مریں گے تو نہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Is it (the case) that we shall not die,
| ||||||
| Words | |أفما - Then are not| نحن - we| بميتين - (to) die,| | ||||||
| 26. [37:61] | Limithli hatha falyaAAmali alAAamiloona | لمثل هذا فليعمل العاملون لِمِثْلِ هَذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ الْعَامِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ایسی (کامیابی) کے لئے عمل کرنے والوں کو عمل کرنا چاہیے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive.
| ||||||
| Words | |لمثل - For (the) like| هذا - (of) this,| فليعمل - let work| العاملون - the workers.| | ||||||
| 27. [37:63] | Inna jaAAalnahafitnatan lilththalimeena | إنا جعلناها فتنة للظالمين إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّالِمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم نے اس (درخت) کو ظالموں کے لئے عذاب بنایا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers.
| ||||||
| Words | |إنا - Indeed, We| جعلناها - [We] have made it| فتنة - a trial| للظالمين - for the wrongdoers.| | ||||||
| 28. [37:55] | FaittalaAAa faraahu feesawa-i aljaheemi | فاطلع فرآه في سواء الجحيم فَاطَّلَعَ فَرَآهُ فِي سَوَاءِ الْجَحِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر وہ جھانکے گا تو اسے دوزخ کے (بالکل) وسط میں پائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire.
| ||||||
| Words | |فاطلع - Then he (will) look| فرآه - and see him| في - in| سواء - (the) midst| الجحيم - (of) the Hellfire.| | ||||||
| 29. [37:56] | Qala taAllahi in kidtalaturdeeni | قال تالله إن كدت لتردين قَالَ تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اس سے) کہے گا: خدا کی قسم! تو اس کے قریب تھا کہ مجھے بھی ہلاک کر ڈالے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition!
| ||||||
| Words | |قال - He (will) say,| تالله - "By Allah,| إن - verily,| كدت - you almost| لتردين - ruined me.| | ||||||
| 30. [37:57] | Walawla niAAmatu rabbee lakuntu minaalmuhdareena | ولولا نعمة ربي لكنت من المحضرين وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر میرے رب کا احسان نہ ہوتا تو میں (بھی تمہارے ساتھ عذاب میں) حاضر کئے جانے والوں میں شامل ہو جاتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)!
| ||||||
| Words | |ولولا - And if not| نعمة - (for the) Grace| ربي - (of) my Lord,| لكنت - certainly, I (would) have been| من - among| المحضرين - those brought."| | ||||||
