| 1. [37:92] | Ma lakum la tantiqoona |  ما لكم لا تنطقونمَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?"

| 2. [37:93] | Faragha AAalayhim darban bialyameeni | فراغ عليهم ضربا باليمين فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًا بِالْيَمِينِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر (ابراہیم علیہ السلام) پوری قوّت کے ساتھ انہیں مارنے (اور توڑنے) لگے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand.

| Words | |فراغ - Then he turned| عليهم - upon them| ضربا - striking| باليمين - with the right hand.| | ||||||
| 3. [37:91] | Faragha ila alihatihimfaqala ala ta/kuloona | فراغ إلى آلهتهم فقال ألا تأكلون فَرَاغَ إِلَى آلِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر (ابراہیم علیہ السلام) ان کے معبودوں (یعنی بتوں) کے پاس خاموشی سے گئے اور اُن سے کہا: کیا تم کھاتے نہیں ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?...

| 4. [37:94] | Faaqbaloo ilayhi yaziffoona | فأقبلوا إليه يزفون فَأَقْبَلُوا إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر لوگ (میلے سے واپسی پر) دوڑتے ہوئے ان کی طرف آئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him).

| Words | |فأقبلوا - Then they advanced| إليه - towards him,| يزفون - hastening.| | ||||||
| 5. [37:95] | Qala ataAAbudoona ma tanhitoona | قال أتعبدون ما تنحتون قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) نے (اُن سے) کہا: کیا تم اِن (ہی بے جان پتھروں) کو پوجتے ہو جنہیں خود تراشتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved?
| ||||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| أتعبدون - "Do you worship| ما - what| تنحتون - you carve| | ||||||
| 6. [37:96] | WaAllahu khalaqakum wamataAAmaloona | والله خلقكم وما تعملون وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | حالانکہ اﷲ نے تمہیں اور تمہارے (سارے) کاموں کو خَلق فرمایا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "But Allah has created you and your handwork!"
| ||||||
| Words | |والله - While Allah| خلقكم - created you| وما - and what| تعملون - you make?"| | ||||||
| 7. [37:97] | Qaloo ibnoo lahu bunyananfaalqoohu fee aljaheemi | قالوا ابنوا له بنيانا فألقوه في الجحيم قَالُوا ابْنُوا لَهُ بُنْيَانًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِي الْجَحِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ کہنے لگے: ان کے (جلانے کے) لئے ایک عمارت بناؤ پھر ان کو (اس کے اندر) سخت بھڑکتی آگ میں ڈال دو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!"

| Words | |قالوا - They said,| ابنوا - "Build| له - for him| بنيانا - a structure| فألقوه - and throw him| في - into| الجحيم - the blazing Fire."| | ||||||
| 8. [37:98] | Faaradoo bihi kaydan fajaAAalnahumual-asfaleena | فأرادوا به كيدا فجعلناهم الأسفلين فَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَسْفَلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | غرض انہوں نے ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کے ساتھ ایک چال چلنا چاہی سو ہم نے اُن ہی کو نیچا دکھا دیا (نتیجۃً آگ گلزار بن گئی) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated!

| Words | |فأرادوا - And they intended| به - for him| كيدا - a plot,| فجعلناهم - but We made them| الأسفلين - the lowest.| | ||||||
| 9. [37:101] | Fabashsharnahu bighulamin haleemin | فبشرناه بغلام حليم فَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِغُلَامٍ حَلِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس ہم نے انہیں بڑے بُرد بار بیٹے (اسماعیل علیہ السلام) کی بشارت دی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear.
| ||||||
| Words | |فبشرناه - So We gave him the glad tidings| بغلام - of a boy| حليم - forbearing.| | ||||||
| 10. [37:103] | Falamma aslama watallahuliljabeeni | فلما أسلما وتله للجبين فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُ لِلْجَبِينِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر جب دونوں (رضائے الٰہی کے سامنے) جھک گئے (یعنی دونوں نے مولا کے حکم کو تسلیم کرلیا) اور ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) نے اسے پیشانی کے بل لِٹا دیا (اگلا منظر بیان نہیں فرمایا) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice),

| 11. [37:104] | Wanadaynahu an ya ibraheemu | وناديناه أن يا إبراهيم وَنَادَيْنَاهُ أَنْ يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے اسے ندا دی کہ اے ابراہیم! | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We called out to him "O Abraham!
| ||||||
| Words | |وناديناه - And We called out to him| أن - that| يا - O| إبراهيم - "O Ibrahim!| | ||||||
| 12. [37:99] | Waqala innee thahibun ilarabbee sayahdeeni | وقال إني ذاهب إلى ربي سيهدين وَقَالَ إِنِّي ذَاهِبٌ إِلَى رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: میں (ہجرت کر کے) اپنے رب کی طرف جانے والا ہوں وہ مجھے ضرور راستہ دکھائے گا (وہ ملکِ شام کی طرف ہجرت فرما گئے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me!

| Words | |وقال - And he said,| إني - "Indeed, I am| ذاهب - going| إلى - to| ربي - my Lord,| سيهدين - He will guide me.| | ||||||
| 13. [37:100] | Rabbi hab lee mina alssaliheena | رب هب لي من الصالحين رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (پھر اَرضِ مقدّس میں پہنچ کر دعا کی:) اے میرے رب! صالحین میں سے مجھے ایک (فرزند) عطا فرما | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!"

| Words | |رب - My Lord| هب - grant| لي - me| من - of| الصالحين - the righteous."| | ||||||

[37:102] | Falamma balagha maAAahu alssaAAyaqala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanamiannee athbahuka faonthur mathatara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tu/marusatajidunee in shaa Allahu mina alssabireena | فلما بلغ معه السعي قال يا بني إني أرى في المنام أني أذبحك فانظر ماذا ترى قال يا أبت افعل ما تؤمر ستجدني إن شاء الله من الصابرين فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعْيَ قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنِّي أَرَى فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنِّي أَذْبَحُكَ فَانظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَى قَالَ يَا أَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ سَتَجِدُنِي إِن شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر جب وہ (اسماعیل علیہ السلام) ان کے ساتھ دوڑ کر چل سکنے (کی عمر) کو پہنچ گیا تو (ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: اے میرے بیٹے! میں خواب میں دیکھتا ہوں کہ میں تجھے ذبح کررہا ہوں سو غور کرو کہ تمہاری کیا رائے ہے۔ (اسماعیل علیہ السلام نے) کہا: ابّاجان! وہ کام (فوراً) کر ڈالیے جس کا آپ کو حکم دیا جا رہا ہے۔ اگر اﷲ نے چاہا تو آپ مجھے صبر کرنے والوں میں سے پائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!"

| 15. [37:107] | Wafadaynahu bithibhinAAatheemin | وفديناه بذبح عظيم وَفَدَيْنَاهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے ایک بہت بڑی قربانی کے ساتھ اِس کا فدیہ کر دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice:

| Words | |وفديناه - And We ransomed him| بذبح - with a sacrifice| عظيم - great,| | ||||||
| 16. [37:105] | Qad saddaqta alrru/yainna kathalika najzee almuhsineena | قد صدقت الرؤيا إنا كذلك نجزي المحسنين قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ الرُّؤْيَا إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | واقعی تم نے اپنا خواب (کیاخوب) سچا کر دکھایا۔ بے شک ہم محسنوں کو ایسا ہی صلہ دیا کرتے ہیں (سو تمہیں مقامِ خلّت سے نواز دیا گیا ہے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
| ||||||
| Words | |قد - Verily,| صدقت - you have fulfilled| الرؤيا - the vision."| إنا - Indeed, We| كذلك - thus| نجزي - [We] reward| المحسنين - the good-doers.| | ||||||
| 17. [37:106] | Inna hatha lahuwa albalaoalmubeenu | إن هذا لهو البلاء المبين إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْبَلَاءُ الْمُبِينُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک یہ بہت بڑی کھلی آزمائش تھی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For this was obviously a trial-
| ||||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| هذا - this| لهو - (was) surely [it]| البلاء - the trial| المبين - clear.| | ||||||
| 18. [37:108] | Watarakna AAalayhi fee al-akhireena | وتركنا عليه في الآخرين وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے پیچھے آنے والوں میں اس کا ذکرِ خیر برقرار رکھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times:

| 19. [37:109] | Salamun AAala ibraheema | سلام على إبراهيم سَلَامٌ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | "Peace and salutation to Abraham!"
| ||||||
| Words | |سلام - "Peace be| على - on| إبراهيم - Ibrahim."| | ||||||
| 20. [37:110] | Kathalika najzee almuhsineena | كذلك نجزي المحسنين كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ہم اسی طرح محسنوں کو صلہ دیا کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
| ||||||
| Words | |كذلك - Thus| نجزي - We reward| المحسنين - the good-doers.| | ||||||
| 21. [37:111] | Innahu min AAibadinaalmu/mineena | إنه من عبادنا المؤمنين إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک وہ ہمارے (کامل) ایمان والے بندوں میں سے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For he was one of our believing Servants.
| ||||||
| Words | |إنه - Indeed, he (was)| من - of| عبادنا - Our slaves| المؤمنين - believing.| | ||||||
| 22. [37:116] | Wanasarnahum fakanoohumu alghalibeena | ونصرناهم فكانوا هم الغالبين وَنَصَرْنَاهُمْ فَكَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے اُن کی مدد فرمائی تو وہی غالب ہوگئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles);
| ||||||
| Words | |ونصرناهم - And We helped them,| فكانوا - so they became| هم - so they became| الغالبين - the victors.| | ||||||
| 23. [37:117] | Waataynahuma alkitabaalmustabeena | وآتيناهما الكتاب المستبين وَآتَيْنَاهُمَا الْكِتَابَ الْمُسْتَبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے ان دونوں کو واضح اور بیّن کتاب (تورات) عطا فرمائی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear;
| ||||||
| Words | |وآتيناهما - And We gave both of them| الكتاب - the Book| المستبين - the clear.| | ||||||
| 24. [37:118] | Wahadaynahuma alssirataalmustaqeema | وهديناهما الصراط المستقيم وَهَدَيْنَاهُمَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے ان دونوں کو سیدھی راہ پر چلایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We guided them to the Straight Way.
| ||||||
| Words | |وهديناهما - And We guided both of them| الصراط - (to) the Path| المستقيم - the Straight.| | ||||||
| 25. [37:119] | Watarakna AAalayhima fee al-akhireena | وتركنا عليهما في الآخرين وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِي الْآخِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے ان دونوں کے حق میں (بھی) پیچھے آنے والوں میں ذکرِ خیر باقی رکھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times:

| Words | |وتركنا - And We left| عليهما - for both of them,| في - among| الآخرين - the later generations.| | ||||||
| 26. [37:112] | Wabashsharnahu bi-ishaqanabiyyan mina alssaliheena | وبشرناه بإسحاق نبيا من الصالحين وَبَشَّرْنَاهُ بِإِسْحَقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے (اِسما عیل علیہ السلام کے بعد) انہیں اِسحاق (علیہ السلام) کی بشارت دی (وہ بھی) صالحین میں سے نبی تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous.
| ||||||
| Words | |وبشرناه - And We gave him glad tidings| بإسحاق - of Isaac,| نبيا - a Prophet| من - among| الصالحين - the righteous.| | ||||||
| 27. [37:113] | Wabarakna AAalayhi waAAalaishaqa wamin thurriyyatihima muhsinunwathalimun linafsihi mubeenun | وباركنا عليه وعلى إسحاق ومن ذريتهما محسن وظالم لنفسه مبين وَبَارَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى إِسْحَقَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِ مُبِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے اُن پر اور اسحاق (علیہ السلام) پر برکتیں نازل فرمائیں، اور ان دونوں کی نسل میں نیکو کار بھی ہیں اور اپنی جان پر کھلے ظلم شِعار بھی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls.

| Words | |وباركنا - And We blessed| عليه - him| وعلى - and [on]| إسحاق - Isaac.| ومن - And of| ذريتهما - their offspring| محسن - (are) good-doers| وظالم - and unjust| لنفسه - to himself| مبين - clear.| | ||||||
| 28. [37:114] | Walaqad mananna AAala moosawaharoona | ولقد مننا على موسى وهارون وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَى مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بے شک ہم نے موسٰی اور ہارون (علیھما السلام) پر بھی احسان کئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Again (of old) We bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron,
| ||||||
| Words | |ولقد - And verily,| مننا - We conferred Favor| على - upon| موسى - Musa| وهارون - and Harun.| | ||||||
| 29. [37:115] | Wanajjaynahuma waqawmahumamina alkarbi alAAatheemi | ونجيناهما وقومهما من الكرب العظيم وَنَجَّيْنَاهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے خود ان دونوں کو اور دونوں کی قوم کو سخت تکلیف سے نجات بخشی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity;

| Yousuf Ali | "Peace and salutation to Moses and Aaron!"
