| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [4:78] | Aynama takoonoo yudrikkumu almawtuwalaw kuntum fee buroojin mushayyadatin wa-in tusibhum hasanatunyaqooloo hathihi min AAindi Allahi wa-in tusibhumsayyi-atun yaqooloo hathihi min AAindika qul kullun minAAindi Allahi famali haola-i alqawmila yakadoona yafqahoona hadeethan |  أينما تكونوا يدرككم الموت ولو كنتم في بروج مشيدة وإن تصبهم حسنة يقولوا هذه من عند الله وإن تصبهم سيئة يقولوا هذه من عندك قل كل من عند الله فمال هؤلاء القوم لا يكادون يفقهون حديثاأَيْنَمَا تَكُونُواْ يُدْرِككُّمُ الْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنتُمْ فِي بُرُوجٍ مُّشَيَّدَةٍ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَقُولُواْ هَـذِهِ مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَقُولُواْ هَـذِهِ مِنْ عِندِكَ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ اللّهِ فَمَا لِهَـؤُلاَءِ الْقَوْمِ لاَ يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ حَدِيثًا | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے موت کے ڈر سے جہاد سے گریز کرنے والو!) تم جہاں کہیں (بھی) ہوگے موت تمہیں (وہیں) آپکڑے گی خواہ تم مضبوط قلعوں میں (ہی) ہو، اور (ان کی ذہنیت یہ ہے کہ) اگر انہیں کوئی بھلائی (فائدہ) پہنچے توکہتے ہیں کہ یہ (تو) اللہ کی طرف سے ہے (اس میں رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی برکت اور واسطے کا کوئی دخل نہیں)، اور اگر انہیں کوئی برائی (نقصان) پہنچے تو کہتے ہیں: (اے رسول!) یہ آپ کی طرف سے (یعنی آپ کی وجہ سے) ہے۔ آپ فرما دیں: (حقیقۃً) سب کچھ اللہ کی طرف سے (ہوتا) ہے۔ پس اس قوم کو کیا ہوگیا ہے کہ یہ کوئی بات سمجھنے کے قریب ہی نہیں آتے | ||||||

If some good befalls them, they say, "This is from Allah"; but if evil, they say, "This is from thee" (O Prophet). Say: "All things are from Allah." But what hath come to these people, that they fail to understand a single fact?

| Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | (اے جہاد سے ڈرنے والو) تم کہیں رہو موت تو تمہیں آ کر رہے گی خواہ بڑے بڑے محلوں میں رہو اور ان لوگوں کو اگر کوئی فائدہ پہنچتا ہے تو کہتے ہیں یہ خدا کی طرف سے ہے اور اگر کوئی گزند پہنچتا ہے تو (اے محمدﷺ تم سے) کہتے ہیں کہ یہ گزند آپ کی وجہ سے (ہمیں پہنچا) ہے کہہ دو کہ (رنج وراحت) سب الله ہی کی طرف سے ہے ان لوگوں کو کیا ہوگیا ہے کہ بات بھی نہیں سمجھ سکتے | ||||||

And if a sin/crime (harm) strikes them, they say: "This (is) from at you." Say: "All/each (are) from at God, so how those the nation, they almost do not understand an information/speech?" | ||||||

When such people are blessed with some benefit, they say: "This is from Allah;" but if they suffer a loss, they say: "this is because of you." O Muhammad tell them: "Everything is from Allah."
