| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [40:21] | Awa lam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fayanthurookayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena kanoomin qablihim kanoo hum ashadda minhum quwwatan waatharanfee al-ardi faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihimwama kana lahum mina Allahi min waqin |  أولم يسيروا في الأرض فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين كانوا من قبلهم كانوا هم أشد منهم قوة وآثارا في الأرض فأخذهم الله بذنوبهم وما كان لهم من الله من واقأَوَ لَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کیا یہ لوگ زمین میں چلے پھرے نہیں کہ دیکھ لیتے ان لوگوں کا انجام کیسا ہوا جو ان سے پہلے تھے، وہ لوگ قوّت میں (بھی) اِن سے بہت زیادہ تھے اور اُن آثار و نشانات میں (بھی) جو زمین میں (چھوڑ گئے) تھے۔ پھر اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں کی وجہ سے انہیں پکڑ لیا، اور ان کے لئے اللہ (کے عذاب) سے بچانے والا کوئی نہ تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were even superior to them in strength, and in the traces (they have left) in the land: but Allah did call them to account for their sins, and none had they to defend them against Allah.
