Falamma raawhu AAaridanmustaqbila awdiyatihim qaloo hatha AAaridunmumtiruna bal huwa ma istaAAjaltum bihi reehunfeeha AAathabun aleemun فلما رأوه عارضا مستقبل أوديتهم قالوا هذا عارض ممطرنا بل هو ما استعجلتم به ريح فيها عذاب أليم
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا بَلْ هُوَ مَا اسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

  پھر جب انہوں نے اس (عذاب) کو بادل کی طرح اپنی وادیوں کے سامنے آتا ہوا دیکھا تو کہنے لگے: یہ (تو) بادل ہے جو ہم پر برسنے والا ہے، (ایسا نہیں) وہ (بادل) تو وہ (عذاب) ہے جس کی تم نے جلدی مچا رکھی تھی۔ (یہ) آندھی ہے جس میں دردناک عذاب (آرہا) ہے

Yousuf AliThen, when they saw the (Penalty in the shape of) a cloud traversing the sky, coming to meet their valleys, they said, "This cloud will give us rain!" "Nay, it is the (Calamity) ye were asking to be hastened!- A wind wherein is a Grievous Penalty!

Ahmed Aliپھر جب انہوں نے اسے دیکھا کہ وہ ایک ابر ہے جو ان کے میدانوں کی طرف بڑھا چلا آ رہا ہے کہنے لگے کہ یہ تو ابر ہے جو ہم پر برسے گا (نہیں) بلکہ یہ وہی ہے جسے تم جلدی چاہتے تھے یعنی آندھی جس میں دردناک عذاب ہے

Shabbir Ahmed پھر جب دیکھا انہوں نے اس (عذاب) کو بادل کی شکل میں آتے ہوئے اپنی وادیوں کی طرف تو کہنے لگے: یہ تو بادل ہے جو ہمیں سیراب کردے گا۔ نہیں بلکہ یہ وہ چیز ہے کہ جلدی مچا رہے تھے تم جس کی۔ یہ ہوا کا طوفان ہے جس میں ہے درد ناک عذاب۔

Mehmood Al Hassanپھر جب دیکھا اس کو ابر سامنے آیا انکے نالوں کے بولے یہ ابر ہے ہم پر برسے گا کوئی نہیں یہ تو وہ چیز ہے جسکی تم جلدی کرتے تھے ہوا ہے جس میں عذاب ہے دردناک
Abul Ala Maududiپھر جب انہوں نے اُس عذاب کو اپنی وادیوں کی طرف آتے دیکھا تو کہنے لگے "یہ بادل ہے جو ہم کو سیراب کر دے گا" "نہیں، بلکہ یہ وہی چیز ہے جس کے لیے تم جلدی مچا رہے تھے یہ ہوا کا طوفان ہے جس میں دردناک عذاب چلا آ رہا ہے

LiteralSo when they saw/understood it an obstructing cloud approaching/coming (to) their valleys, they said: "That obstructing cloud (is) raining on us." No/rather it is what you hurried/hastened with it, a wind/smell in it (is) a painful torture.
