| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [47:31] | Walanabluwannakum hattanaAAlama almujahideena minkum waalssabireenawanabluwa akhbarakum |  ولنبلونكم حتى نعلم المجاهدين منكم والصابرين ونبلو أخباركموَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتَّى نَعْلَمَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ مِنكُمْ وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَنَبْلُوَاْ أَخْبَارَكُمْ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم ضرور تمہاری آزمائش کریں گے یہاں تک کہ تم میں سے (ثابت قدمی کے ساتھ) جہاد کرنے والوں اور صبر کرنے والوں کو (بھی) ظاہر کر دیں اور تمہاری (منافقانہ بزدلی کی مخفی) خبریں (بھی) ظاہر کر دیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We shall try you until We test those among you who strive their utmost and persevere in patience; and We shall try your reported (mettle).

| Words | |ولنبلونكم - And surely We will test you| حتى - until| نعلم - We make evident| المجاهدين - those who strive| منكم - among you| والصابرين - and the patient ones,| ونبلو - and We will test| أخباركم - your affairs.| | ||||||
| 2. [47:33] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooateeAAoo Allaha waateeAAoo alrrasoolawala tubtiloo aAAmalakum | يا أيها الذين آمنوا أطيعوا الله وأطيعوا الرسول ولا تبطلوا أعمالكم يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَلَا تُبْطِلُوا أَعْمَالَكُمْ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے ایمان والو! تم اﷲ کی اطاعت کیا کرو اور رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی اطاعت کیا کرو اور اپنے اعمال برباد مت کرو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the messenger, and make not vain your deeds!

| Words | |يا - O| أيها - O you who believe!| الذين - O you who believe!| آمنوا - O you who believe!| أطيعوا - Obey| الله - Allah| وأطيعوا - and obey| الرسول - the Messenger,| ولا - and (do) not| تبطلوا - make vain| أعمالكم - your deeds.| | ||||||

[47:32] | Inna allatheena kafaroo wasaddooAAan sabeeli Allahi washaqqoo alrrasoola minbaAAdi ma tabayyana lahumu alhuda lan yadurooAllaha shay-an wasayuhbitu aAAmalahum | إن الذين كفروا وصدوا عن سبيل الله وشاقوا الرسول من بعد ما تبين لهم الهدى لن يضروا الله شيئا وسيحبط أعمالهم إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَشَاقُّوا الرَّسُولَ مِن بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الهُدَى لَن يَضُرُّوا اللَّهَ شَيْئًا وَسَيُحْبِطُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا اور (لوگوں کو) اﷲ کی راہ سے روکا اور رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی مخالفت (اور ان سے جدائی کی راہ اختیار) کی اس کے بعد کہ ان پر ہدایت (یعنی عظمتِ رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی معرفت) واضح ہو چکی تھی وہ اللہ کا ہرگز کچھ نقصان نہیں کر سکیں گے (یعنی رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی قدر و منزلت کو گھٹا نہیں سکیں گے)،٭ اور اﷲ ان کے (سارے) اعمال کو (مخالفتِ رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے باعث) نیست و نابود کر دے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect.

| 4. [47:34] | Inna allatheena kafaroo wasaddooAAan sabeeli Allahi thumma matoo wahum kuffarunfalan yaghfira Allahu lahum | إن الذين كفروا وصدوا عن سبيل الله ثم ماتوا وهم كفار فلن يغفر الله لهم إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَن يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا اور (لوگوں کو) اﷲ کی راہ سے روکا پھر اس حال میں مر گئے کہ وہ کافر تھے تو اﷲ انہیں کبھی نہ بخشے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who reject Allah, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, then die rejecting Allah,- Allah will not forgive them.

[47:35] | Fala tahinoo watadAAoo ila alssalmiwaantumu al-aAAlawna waAllahu maAAakum walanyatirakum aAAmalakum | فلا تهنوا وتدعوا إلى السلم وأنتم الأعلون والله معكم ولن يتركم أعمالكم فَلَا تَهِنُوا وَتَدْعُوا إِلَى السَّلْمِ وَأَنتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ وَاللَّهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَن يَتِرَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے مومنو!) پس تم ہمت نہ ہارو اور ان (متحارب کافروں) سے صلح کی درخواست نہ کرو (کہیں تمہاری کمزوری ظاہر نہ ہو)، اور تم ہی غالب رہو گے، اور اﷲ تمہارے ساتھ ہے اور وہ تمہارے اعمال (کا ثواب) ہرگز کم نہ کرے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost: for Allah is with you, and will never put you in loss for your (good) deeds.

| Words | |فلا - So (do) not| تهنوا - weaken| وتدعوا - and call| إلى - for| السلم - peace| وأنتم - while you| الأعلون - (are) superior,| والله - and Allah| معكم - (is) with you| ولن - and never| يتركم - will deprive you| أعمالكم - (of) your deeds.| | ||||||
| 6. [47:36] | Innama alhayatu alddunyalaAAibun walahwun wa-in tu/minoo watattaqoo yu/tikum ojoorakumwala yas-alkum amwalakum | إنما الحياة الدنيا لعب ولهو وإن تؤمنوا وتتقوا يؤتكم أجوركم ولا يسألكم أموالكم إِنَّمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا يُؤْتِكُمْ أُجُورَكُمْ وَلَا يَسْأَلْكُمْ أَمْوَالَكُمْ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بس دنیا کی زندگی تو محض کھیل اور تماشا ہے، اور اگر تم ایمان لے آؤ اور تقوٰی اختیار کرو تو وہ تمہیں تمہارے (اعمال پر کامل) ثواب عطا فرمائے گا اور تم سے تمہارے مال طلب نہیں کرے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The life of this world is but play and amusement: and if ye believe and guard against Evil, He will grant you your recompense, and will not ask you (to give up) your possessions.

| 7. [47:37] | In yas-alkumooha fayuhfikumtabkhaloo wayukhrij adghanakum | إن يسألكموها فيحفكم تبخلوا ويخرج أضغانكم إِن يَسْأَلْكُمُوهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَانَكُمْ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اگر وہ تم سے اس مال کو طلب کر لے پھر تمہیں طلب میں تنگی دے تو تمہیں (دل میں) تنگی محسوس ہوگی (اور) تم بخل کرو گے اور (اس طرح) وہ تمہارے (دنیا پرستی کے باعث باطنی) زنگ ظاہر کر دے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | If He were to ask you for all of them, and press you, ye would covetously withhold, and He would bring out all your ill-feeling.

| Words | |إن - If| يسألكموها - He were to ask you for it| فيحفكم - and press you,| تبخلوا - you will withhold| ويخرج - and He will bring forth| أضغانكم - your hatred.| | ||||||
| 8. [47:38] | Ha antum haola-itudAAawna litunfiqoo fee sabeeli Allahi faminkum manyabkhalu waman yabkhal fa-innama yabkhalu AAan nafsihi waAllahualghaniyyu waantumu alfuqarao wa-in tatawallaw yastabdilqawman ghayrakum thumma la yakoonoo amthalakum | ها أنتم هؤلاء تدعون لتنفقوا في سبيل الله فمنكم من يبخل ومن يبخل فإنما يبخل عن نفسه والله الغني وأنتم الفقراء وإن تتولوا يستبدل قوما غيركم ثم لا يكونوا أمثالكم هَاأَنتُمْ هَؤُلَاءِ تُدْعَوْنَ لِتُنفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَمِنكُم مَّن يَبْخَلُ وَمَن يَبْخَلْ فَإِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَن نَّفْسِهِ وَاللَّهُ الْغَنِيُّ وَأَنتُمُ الْفُقَرَاءُ وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَكُمْ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یاد رکھو! تم وہ لوگ ہو جنہیں اﷲ کی راہ میں خرچ کرنے کے لئے بلایا جاتا ہے تو تم میں سے بعض ایسے بھی ہیں جو بُخل کرتے ہیں، اور جو کوئی بھی بُخل کرتا ہے وہ محض اپنی جان ہی سے بخل کرتا ہے، اور اﷲ بے نیاز ہے اور تم (سب) محتاج ہو، اور اگر تم (حکمِ الٰہی سے) رُوگردانی کرو گے تو وہ تمہاری جگہ بدل کر دوسری قوم کو لے آئے گا پھر وہ تمہارے جیسے نہ ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold, ye are those invited to spend (of your substance) in the Way of Allah: But among you are some that are niggardly. But any who are niggardly are so at the expense of their own souls. But Allah is free of all wants, and it is ye that are needy. If ye turn back (from the Path), He will substitute in your stead another people; then they would not be like you!
