Sayaqoolu laka almukhallafoona mina al-aAArabishaghalatna amwaluna waahloona faistaghfirlana yaqooloona bi-alsinatihim ma laysa feequloobihim qul faman yamliku lakum mina Allahi shay-an inarada bikum darran aw arada bikum nafAAanbal kana Allahu bima taAAmaloona khabeeran سيقول لك المخلفون من الأعراب شغلتنا أموالنا وأهلونا فاستغفر لنا يقولون بألسنتهم ما ليس في قلوبهم قل فمن يملك لكم من الله شيئا إن أراد بكم ضرا أو أراد بكم نفعا بل كان الله بما تعملون خبيرا
سَيَقُولُ لَكَ الْمُخَلَّفُونَ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ شَغَلَتْنَا أَمْوَالُنَا وَأَهْلُونَا فَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا يَقُولُونَ بِأَلْسِنَتِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ قُلْ فَمَن يَمْلِكُ لَكُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ ضَرًّا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ نَفْعًا بَلْ كَانَ اللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا

  عنقریب دیہاتیوں میں سے وہ لوگ جو (حدیبیہ میں شرکت سے) پیچھے رہ گئے تھے آپ سے (معذرۃً یہ) کہیں گے کہ ہمارے اموال اور اہل و عیال نے ہمیں مشغول کر رکھا تھا (اس لئے ہم آپ کی معیت سے محروم رہ گئے) سو آپ ہمارے لئے بخشش طلب کریں۔ یہ لوگ اپنی زبانوں سے وہ (باتیں) کہتے ہیں جو ان کے دلوں میں نہیں ہیں۔ آپ فرما دیں کہ کون ہے جو تمہیں اﷲ کے (فیصلے کے) خلاف بچانے کا اختیار رکھتا ہو اگر اس نے تمہارے نقصان کا ارادہ فرما لیا ہو یا تمہارے نفع کا ارادہ فرما لیا ہو، بلکہ اﷲ تمہارے کاموں سے اچھی طرح باخبر ہے

Yousuf AliThe desert Arabs who lagged behind will say to thee: "We were engaged in (looking after) our flocks and herds, and our families: do thou then ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if His Will is to give you some loss or to give you some profit? But Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

Ahmed Aliعنقریب آ پ سے وہ لوگ کہیں گے جو بدویوں میں سے پیچھے رہ گئے تھے کہ ہمیں ہمارے اور اہل و عیال نے مشغول رکھا ہے آپ ہمارے لیے مغفرت مانگیئے وہ اپنی زبانوں سے وہ بات کہتے ہیں جو ان کے دلوں میں نہیں ہے کہدو وہ کون ہے جو الله کے سامنے تمہارے لیے کسی چیز کا (کچھ بھی) اختیار رکھتا ہوگا اگر الله تمہیں کوئی نقصان یا کوئی نفع پہنچانا چاہے بلکہ الله تمہارے سب اعمال پر خبردار ہے
Ahmed Raza Khanاب تم سے کہیں گے جو گنوار (اعرابی) پیچھے رہ گئے تھے کہ ہمیں ہمارے مال اور ہمارے گھر والوں نے مشغول رکھا اب حضور ہماری مغفرت چاہیں اپنی زبانوں سے وہ بات کہتے ہیں جو ان کے دلوں میں نہیں تم فرماؤ تو اللہ کے سامنے کسے تمہارا کچھ اختیار ہے اگر وہ تمہارا برا چاہے یا تمہاری بھلائی کا ارادہ فرمائے، بلکہ اللہ کو تمہارے کاموں کی خبر ہے،
Shabbir Ahmedضرور کہیں گے تم سے وہ لوگ جو پیچھے رہ گئے تھے بدوی عربوں میں سے کہ مشغول کر رکھا تھا ہمیں ہمارے مالوں اور گھر والوں (کی فکر نے) سو مغفرت کی دعا کریں آپ ہمارے لیے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں اپنی زبانوں سے وہ باتیں جو نہیں ہیں ان کے دلوں میں۔ ان سے کہیے اچھا تو کس میں یہ طاقت ہے (کہ روک دے) تم سے اللہ کو ذرا بھی۔ اگر وہ چاہے تمہیں نقصان پہنچانا یا چاہے تمہیں نفع پہنچانا۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ ہے اللہ ان باتوں سے جو تم کررہے ہو پوری طرح باخبر۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyجو گنوار پیچھے رہ گئے وہ تم سے کہیں گے کہ ہم کو ہمارے مال اور اہل وعیال نے روک رکھا آپ ہمارے لئے (خدا سے) بخشش مانگیں۔ یہ لوگ اپنی زبان سے وہ بات کہتے ہیں جو ان کے دل میں نہیں ہے۔ کہہ دو کہ اگر خدا تم (لوگوں) کو نقصان پہنچانا چاہے یا تمہیں فائدہ پہنچانے کا ارادہ فرمائے تو کون ہے جو اس کے سامنے تمہارے لئے کسی بات کا کچھ اختیار رکھے (کوئی نہیں) بلکہ جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو خدا اس سے واقف ہے

Abul Ala Maududiاے نبیؐ، بدوی عربوں میں سے جو لوگ پیچھے چھوڑ دیے گئے تھے اب وہ آ کر ضرور تم سے کہیں گے کہ "ہمیں اپنے اموال اور بال بچوں کی فکر نے مشغول کر رکھا تھا، آپ ہمارے لیے مغفرت کی دعا فرمائیں" یہ لوگ اپنی زبانوں سے وہ باتیں کہتے ہیں جو ان کے دلوں میں نہیں ہوتیں ان سے کہنا "اچھا، یہی بات ہے تو کون تمہارے معاملہ میں اللہ کے فیصلے کو روک دینے کا کچھ بھی اختیار رکھتا ہے اگر وہ تمہیں کوئی نقصان پہنچانا چاہے یا نفع بخشنا چاہے؟ تمہارے اعمال سے تو اللہ ہی باخبر ہے

(Muhammad), tell them, "Who will help you against God, if He intends to harm you, who will prevent Him from benefitting you? In fact, God is Well Aware of whatever you do".

George SaleThe Arabs of the desert who were left behind will say unto thee, our substance and our families employed us, so that we went not forth with thee to war; wherefore ask pardon for us. The excuses mentioned in the sequence were made after the Prophet's and his followers' successful return to Medina; hence the future tense, sayaqul.] "[The need to take care of] our chattels and our families kept us busy: do then, [O Prophet,] ask God to forgive us!" [Implying that the excuses which they would proffer would be purely hypocritical.] Say: "Who, then, has it in his power to avert from you aught that God may have willed, [Lit., "has anything in his power (that could be obtained) in your behalf from God": a construction which, in order to become meaningful in translation, necessitates a paraphrase.] whether it be His will to harm you or to confer a benefit on you? Nay, but God is fully aware of what you do!
Khalifa**The sedentary Arabs who stay behind will say, "We have been preoccupied with our money and our families, so ask forgiveness for us!" They utter with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say, "Who can protect you from GOD, if He willed any adversity for you, or if He willed any blessing for you?" GOD is fully Cognizant of everything you do.
Hilali/Khan**Those of the bedouins who lagged behind will say to you: "Our possessions and our families occupied us, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if He intends you hurt or intends you benefit?
