| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [5:49] | Waani ohkum baynahum bimaanzala Allahu wala tattabiAA ahwaahum waihtharhuman yaftinooka AAan baAAdi ma anzala Allahuilayka fa-in tawallaw faiAAlam annama yureedu Allahuan yuseebahum bibaAAdi thunoobihim wa-innakatheeran mina alnnasi lafasiqoona |  وأن احكم بينهم بما أنزل الله ولا تتبع أهواءهم واحذرهم أن يفتنوك عن بعض ما أنزل الله إليك فإن تولوا فاعلم أنما يريد الله أن يصيبهم ببعض ذنوبهم وإن كثيرا من الناس لفاسقونوَأَنِ احْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ اللّهُ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَاحْذَرْهُمْ أَن يَفْتِنُوكَ عَن بَعْضِ مَا أَنزَلَ اللّهُ إِلَيْكَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللّهُ أَن يُصِيبَهُم بِبَعْضِ ذُنُوبِهِمْ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ لَفَاسِقُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اے حبیب! ہم نے یہ حکم کیا ہے کہ) آپ ان کے درمیان اس (فرمان) کے مطابق فیصلہ فرمائیں جو اﷲ نے نازل فرمایا ہے اور ان کی خواہشات کی پیروی نہ کریں اور آپ ان سے بچتے رہیں کہیں وہ آپ کو ان بعض (احکام) سے جو اللہ نے آپ کی طرف نازل فرمائے ہیں پھیر (نہ) دیں، پھر اگر وہ (آپ کے فیصلہ سے) روگردانی کریں تو آپ جان لیں کہ بس اﷲ ان کے بعض گناہوں کے باعث انہیں سزا دینا چاہتا ہے، اور لوگوں میں سے اکثر نافرمان (ہوتے) ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And this (He commands): Judge thou between them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires, but beware of them lest they beguile thee from any of that (teaching) which Allah hath sent down to thee. And if they turn away, be assured that for some of their crime it is Allah's purpose to punish them. And truly most men are rebellious.

| Ahmed Raza Khan | اور یہ کہ اے مسلمان! اللہ کے اتارے پر حکم کر اور ان کی خواہشوں پر نہ چل اور ان سے بچتا رہ کہ کہیں تجھے لغزش نہ دے دیں کسی حکم میں جو تیری طرف اترا پھر اگر وہ منہ پھیریں تو جان لو کہ اللہ ان کے بعض گناہوں کی سزا ان کو پہنچایا چاہتا ہے اور بیشک بہت آدمی بے حکم ہیں، | ||||||
| Shabbir Ahmed | اور (حُکم دیتے ہیں ہم تم کو) کہ فیصلہ کیا کرو اُن کے معاملات کا اس کے مطابق جو نازل کیا ہے اللہ نے اور نہ پیروی کرنا اُن کی خواہشات کی اور محتاط رہنا کہ مبادا یہ لوگ تم کو فتنے میں مبتلا کردیں (اور منحرف کردیں) کسی ایسے حُکم سے جو نازل کیا ہے اللہ نے تم پر۔ پھر اگر وہ منہ موڑ جائیں تو جان لو کہ چاہتا ہے اللہ کہ مُبتلائے مصیبت کرے اُن کو پاداش میں ان کے بعض گناہوں کی۔ اور بے شک انسانوں میں سے اکثر نافرمان ہیں۔ | ||||||
| Fateh Muhammad Jalandhary | اور (ہم پھر تاکید کرتے ہیں کہ) جو (حکم) خدا نے نازل فرمایا ہے اسی کے مطابق ان میں فیصلہ کرنا اور ان کی خواہشوں کی پیروی نہ کرنا اور ان سے بچتے رہنا کہ کسی حکم سے جو خدا نے تم پر نازل فرمایا ہے یہ کہیں تم کو بہکانہ دیں اگر یہ نہ مانیں تو جان لو کہ خدا چاہتا ہے کہ ان کے بعض گناہوں کے سبب ان پر مصیبت نازل کرے اور اکثر لوگ تو نافرمان ہیں | ||||||

| Abul Ala Maududi | پس اے محمدؐ! تم اللہ کے نازل کردہ قانون کے مطابق اِن لوگوں کے معاملات کا فیصلہ کرو اور ان کی خواہشات کی پیروی نہ کرو ہوشیار رہو کہ یہ لوگ تم کو فتنہ میں ڈال کر اُس ہدایت سے ذرہ برابر منحرف نہ کرنے پائیں جو خدا نے تمہاری طرف نازل کی ہے پھر اگر یہ اس سے منہ موڑیں تو جان لو کہ اللہ نے اِن کے بعض گناہوں کی پاداش میں ان کو مبتلائے مصیبت کرنے کا ارادہ ہی کر لیا ہے، اور یہ حقیقت ہے کہ اِن لوگوں میں سے اکثر فاسق ہیں | ||||||

| QXP Shabbir Ahemd** | Rule and judge between people by what Allah has revealed. Do not follow their desires giving in to their demands, lest they divert you from what Allah has revealed to you. If they turn away from the Ultimate Truth, know that Allah's Law of Requital is going to chastise them for trailing behind in attaining belief and for their previous transgressions. A great many people choose to drift away from the Right Path. | ||||||
