| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [54:25] | Aolqiya alththikru AAalayhimin baynina bal huwa kaththabun ashirun |  أألقي الذكر عليه من بيننا بل هو كذاب أشرأَؤُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا ہم سب میں سے اسی پر نصیحت (یعنی وحی) اتاری گئی ہے؟ بلکہ وہ بڑا جھوٹا اور خود پسند (اور متکبّر) ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Is it that the Message is sent to him, of all people amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent one!"

| Tahir ul Qadri | انہیں کل (قیامت کے دن) ہی معلوم ہو جائے گا کہ کون بڑا جھوٹا، خود پسند (اور متکبّر) ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Ah! they will know on the morrow, which is the liar, the insolent one!

| Words | |سيعلمون - They will know| غدا - tomorrow| من - who| الكذاب - (is) the liar,| الأشر - the insolent one.| | ||||||
| 3. [54:27] | Inna mursiloo alnnaqatifitnatan lahum fairtaqibhum waistabir | إنا مرسلو الناقة فتنة لهم فارتقبهم واصطبر إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم اُن کی آزمائش کے لئے اونٹنی بھیجنے والے ہیں، پس (اے صالح!) اُن (کے انجام) کا انتظار کریں اور صبر جاری رکھیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience!

| Words | |إنا - Indeed, We| مرسلو - (are) sending| الناقة - the she-camel| فتنة - (as) a trial| لهم - for them,| فارتقبهم - so watch them| واصطبر - and be patient.| | ||||||
| 4. [54:28] | Wanabbi/hum anna almaa qismatunbaynahum kullu shirbin muhtadarun | ونبئهم أن الماء قسمة بينهم كل شرب محتضر وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُّحْتَضَرٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | انہیں اس بات سے آگاہ کر دیں کہ اُن کے (اور اونٹنی کے) درمیان پانی تقسیم کر دیا گیا ہے، ہر ایک (کو) پانی کا حصّہ اس کی باری پر حاضر کیا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And tell them that the water is to be divided between them: Each one's right to drink being brought forward (by suitable turns).

| 5. [54:31] | Inna arsalna AAalayhim sayhatanwahidatan fakanoo kahasheemi almuhtathiri | إنا أرسلنا عليهم صيحة واحدة فكانوا كهشيم المحتظر إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم نے اُن پر ایک نہایت خوفناک آواز بھیجی سو وہ باڑ لگانے والے کے بچے ہوئے اور روندے گئے بھوسے کی طرح ہوگئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle.

| 6. [54:32] | Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana lilththikrifahal min muddakirin | ولقد يسرنا القرآن للذكر فهل من مدكر وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے قرآن کو نصیحت کے لئے آسان کر دیا ہے تو کیا کوئی نصیحت حاصل کرنے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?

| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| يسرنا - We have made easy| القرآن - the Quran| للذكر - for remembrance,| فهل - so is (there)| من - any| مدكر - who will receive admonition?| | ||||||
| 7. [54:34] | Inna arsalna AAalayhim hasibanilla ala lootin najjaynahum bisaharin | إنا أرسلنا عليهم حاصبا إلا آل لوط نجيناهم بسحر إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ نَّجَّيْنَاهُم بِسَحَرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم نے اُن پر کنکریاں برسانے والی آندھی بھیجی سوائے اولادِ لُوط (علیہ السلام) کے، ہم نے انہیں پچھلی رات (عذاب سے) بچا لیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,-

| 8. [54:35] | NiAAmatan min AAindina kathalikanajzee man shakara | نعمة من عندنا كذلك نجزي من شكر نِعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَن شَكَرَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اپنی طرف سے خاص انعام کے ساتھ، اسی طرح ہم اس شخص کو جزا دیا کرتے ہیں جو شکر گزار ہوتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks.

| Words | |نعمة - (As) a favor| من - from| عندنا - Us.| كذلك - Thus| نجزي - We reward| من - (one) who| شكر - (is) grateful.| | ||||||
| 9. [54:36] | Walaqad antharahum batshatanafatamaraw bialnnuthuri | ولقد أنذرهم بطشتنا فتماروا بالنذر وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک لُوط (علیہ السلام) نے انہیں ہماری پکڑ سے ڈرایا تھا پھر اُن لوگوں نے اُن کے ڈرانے میں شک کرتے ہوئے جھٹلایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning.

| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| أنذرهم - he warned them| بطشتنا - (of) Our seizure,| فتماروا - but they disputed| بالنذر - the warnings.| | ||||||
| 10. [54:37] | Walaqad rawadoohu AAan dayfihifatamasna aAAyunahum fathooqoo AAathabeewanuthuri | ولقد راودوه عن ضيفه فطمسنا أعينهم فذوقوا عذابي ونذر وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک اُن لوگوں نے لُوط (علیہ السلام) سے اُن کے مہمانوں کو چھین لینے کا ارادہ کیا سو ہم نے اُن کی آنکھوں کی ساخت مٹا کر انہیں بے نور کر دیا۔ پھر (اُن سے کہا:) میرے عذاب اور ڈرانے کا مزہ چکھو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning."

| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| راودوه - they demanded from him| عن - they demanded from him| ضيفه - his guests,| فطمسنا - so We blinded| أعينهم - their eyes.| فذوقوا - "So taste| عذابي - My punishment| ونذر - and My warnings."| | ||||||
| 11. [54:38] | Walaqad sabbahahum bukratanAAathabun mustaqirrun | ولقد صبحهم بكرة عذاب مستقر وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک اُن پر صبح سویرے ہی ہمیشہ قائم رہنے والا عذاب آپہنچا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them:

| 12. [54:40] | Walaqad yassarna alqur-ana lilththikrifahal min muddakirin | ولقد يسرنا القرآن للذكر فهل من مدكر وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے قرآن کو نصیحت کے لئے آسان کر دیا ہے تو کیا کوئی نصیحت حاصل کرنے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?

| 13. [54:41] | Walaqad jaa ala firAAawna alnnuthuru | ولقد جاء آل فرعون النذر وَلَقَدْ جَاءَ آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک قومِ فرعون کے پاس (بھی) ڈر سنانے والے آئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | To the People of Pharaoh, too, aforetime, came Warners (from Allah).

| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| جاء - came| آل - (to the) people| فرعون - (of) Firaun| النذر - warnings.| | ||||||
| 14. [54:42] | Kaththaboo bi-ayatinakulliha faakhathnahum akhthaAAazeezin muqtadirin | كذبوا بآياتنا كلها فأخذناهم أخذ عزيز مقتدر كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | انہوں نے ہماری سب نشانیوں کو جھٹلا دیا پھر ہم نے انہیں بڑے غالب بڑی قدرت والے کی پکڑ کی شان کے مطابق پکڑ لیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will.

| Words | |كذبوا - They denied| بآياتنا - Our Signs,| كلها - all of them,| فأخذناهم - so We seized them| أخذ - (with) a seizure| عزيز - (of) All-Mighty,| مقتدر - (the) Powerful One.| | ||||||
| 15. [54:43] | Akuffarukum khayrun min ola-ikumam lakum baraatun fee alzzuburi | أكفاركم خير من أولئكم أم لكم براءة في الزبر أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أُوْلَئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَاءَةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے قریشِ مکہ!) کیا تمہارے کافر اُن (اگلے) لوگوں سے بہتر ہیں یا تمہارے لئے (آسمانی) کتابوں میں نجات لکھی ہوئی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Are your Unbelievers, (O Quraish), better than they? Or have ye an immunity in the Sacred Books?

| Words | |أكفاركم - Are your disbelievers,| خير - better| من - than| أولئكم - those,| أم - or| لكم - for you| براءة - (is) an exemption| في - in| الزبر - the Scriptures?| | ||||||
| 16. [54:44] | Am yaqooloona nahnu jameeAAun muntasirun | أم يقولون نحن جميع منتصر أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یا یہ (کفّار) کہتے ہیں کہ ہم (نبیِ مکرّم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پر) غالب رہنے والی مضبوط جماعت ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"?

| Words | |أم - Or| يقولون - (do) they say,| نحن - "We| جميع - (are) an assembly| منتصر - helping (each other)?"| | ||||||
| 17. [54:46] | Bali alssaAAatu mawAAiduhum waalssaAAatuadha waamarru | بل الساعة موعدهم والساعة أدهى وأمر بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بلکہ اُن کا (اصل) وعدہ تو قیامت ہے اور قیامت کی گھڑی بہت ہی سخت اور بہت ہی تلخ ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nay, the Hour (of Judgment) is the time promised them (for their full recompense): And that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter.

| Words | |بل - Nay,| الساعة - the Hour| موعدهم - (is) their promised time,| والساعة - and the Hour| أدهى - (will be) more grievous| وأمر - and more bitter.| | ||||||
| 18. [54:47] | Inna almujrimeena fee dalalinwasuAAurin | إن المجرمين في ضلال وسعر إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک مجرم لوگ گمراہی اور دیوانگی (یا آگ کی لپیٹ) میں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Truly those in sin are the ones straying in mind, and mad.

| Words | |إن - Indeed,| المجرمين - the criminals| في - (are) in| ضلال - an error| وسعر - and madness.| | ||||||
| 19. [54:48] | Yawma yushaboona fee alnnariAAala wujoohihim thooqoo massa saqara | يوم يسحبون في النار على وجوههم ذوقوا مس سقر يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جس دن وہ لوگ اپنے مُنہ کے بل دوزخ میں گھسیٹے جائیں گے (تو اُن سے کہا جائے گا:) آگ میں جلنے کا مزہ چکھو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!"

| Words | |يوم - (The) Day| يسحبون - they will be dragged| في - into| النار - the Fire| على - on| وجوههم - their faces,| ذوقوا - "Taste| مس - (the) touch| سقر - (of) Hell."| | ||||||
| 20. [54:49] | Inna kulla shay-in khalaqnahubiqadarin | إنا كل شيء خلقناه بقدر إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم نے ہر چیز کو ایک مقرّرہ اندازے کے مطابق بنایا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure.

| Words | |إنا - Indeed, [We]| كل - every| شيء - thing| خلقناه - We created it| بقدر - by a measure.| | ||||||
| 21. [54:50] | Wama amruna illa wahidatunkalamhin bialbasari | وما أمرنا إلا واحدة كلمح بالبصر وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍ بِالْبَصَرِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہمارا حکم تو فقط یک بارگی واقع ہو جاتا ہے جیسے آنکھ کا جھپکنا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And Our Command is but a single (Act),- like the twinkling of an eye.

| Words | |وما - And not| أمرنا - (is) Our Command| إلا - but| واحدة - one,| كلمح - like the twinkling| بالبصر - (of) the eye.| | ||||||
| 22. [54:51] | Walaqad ahlakna ashyaAAakumfahal min muddakirin | ولقد أهلكنا أشياعكم فهل من مدكر وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے تمہارے (بہت سے) گروہوں کو ہلاک کر ڈالا، سو کیا کوئی نصیحت حاصل کرنے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition?

| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| أهلكنا - We destroyed| أشياعكم - your kinds,| فهل - so is (there)| من - any| مدكر - who will receive admonition?| | ||||||
| 23. [54:52] | Wakullu shay-in faAAaloohu fee alzzuburi | وكل شيء فعلوه في الزبر وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِي الزُّبُرِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو کچھ (بھی) انہوں نے کیا اعمال ناموں میں (درج) ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | All that they do is noted in (their) Books (of Deeds):

| Words | |وكل - And every| شيء - thing| فعلوه - they did| في - (is) in| الزبر - the written records.| | ||||||
| 24. [54:54] | Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwanaharin | إن المتقين في جنات ونهر إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک پرہیزگار جنتوں اور نہروں میں (لطف اندوز) ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers,

| 25. [54:55] | Fee maqAAadi sidqin AAinda maleekinmuqtadirin | في مقعد صدق عند مليك مقتدر فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پاکیزہ مجالس میں (حقیقی) اقتدار کے مالک بادشاہ کی خاص قربت میں (بیٹھے) ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent.
