| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [63:1] | Itha jaaka almunafiqoonaqaloo nashhadu innaka larasoolu Allahi waAllahuyaAAlamu innaka larasooluhu waAllahu yashhadu innaalmunafiqeena lakathiboona |  إذا جاءك المنافقون قالوا نشهد إنك لرسول الله والله يعلم إنك لرسوله والله يشهد إن المنافقين لكاذبونإِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ قَالُوا نَشْهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُ وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَكَاذِبُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) جب منافق آپ کے پاس آتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں: ہم گواہی دیتے ہیں کہ آپ یقیناً اللہ کے رسول ہیں، اور اللہ جانتا ہے کہ یقیناً آپ اُس کے رسول ہیں، اور اللہ گواہی دیتا ہے کہ یقیناً منافق لوگ جھوٹے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When the Hypocrites come to thee, they say, "We bear witness that thou art indeed the Messenger of Allah." Yea, Allah knoweth that thou art indeed His Messenger, and Allah beareth witness that the Hypocrites are indeed liars.

| Words | |إذا - When| جاءك - come to you| المنافقون - the hypocrites,| قالوا - they say,| نشهد - "We testify| إنك - that you| لرسول - (are) surely (the) Messenger| الله - (of) Allah."| والله - And Allah| يعلم - knows| إنك - that you| لرسوله - (are) surely His Messenger,| والله - and Allah| يشهد - testifies| إن - that| المنافقين - the hypocrites| لكاذبون - (are) surely liars.| | ||||||
| 2. [63:2] | Ittakhathoo aymanahum junnatanfasaddoo AAan sabeeli Allahi innahum saa makanoo yaAAmaloona | اتخذوا أيمانهم جنة فصدوا عن سبيل الله إنهم ساء ما كانوا يعملون اتَّخَذُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُمْ سَاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | انہوں نے اپنی قَسموں کو ڈھال بنا رکھا ہے پھر یہ (لوگوں کو) اللہ کی راہ سے روکتے ہیں، بیشک وہ بہت ہی برا (کام) ہے جو یہ لوگ کر رہے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They have made their oaths a screen (for their misdeeds): thus they obstruct (men) from the Path of Allah: truly evil are their deeds.

| 3. [63:3] | Thalika bi-annahum amanoothumma kafaroo fatubiAAa AAala quloobihim fahum layafqahoona | ذلك بأنهم آمنوا ثم كفروا فطبع على قلوبهم فهم لا يفقهون ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ آمَنُوا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا فَطُبِعَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ اِس وجہ سے کہ وہ (زبان سے) ایمان لائے پھر (دل سے) کافر رہے تو اُن کے دلوں پر مُہر لگا دی گئی سو وہ (کچھ) نہیں سمجھتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That is because they believed, then they rejected Faith: So a seal was set on their hearts: therefore they understand not.

[63:4] | Wa-itha raaytahum tuAAjibuka ajsamuhumwa-in yaqooloo tasmaAA liqawlihim kaannahum khushubunmusannadatun yahsaboona kulla sayhatinAAalayhim humu alAAaduwwu faihtharhum qatalahumuAllahu anna yu/fakoona | وإذا رأيتهم تعجبك أجسامهم وإن يقولوا تسمع لقولهم كأنهم خشب مسندة يحسبون كل صيحة عليهم هم العدو فاحذرهم قاتلهم الله أنى يؤفكون وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ أَجْسَامُهُمْ وَإِن يَقُولُوا تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُّسَنَّدَةٌ يَحْسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ هُمُ الْعَدُوُّ فَاحْذَرْهُمْ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے بندے!) جب تو انہیں دیکھے تو اُن کے جسم (اور قد و قامت) تجھے بھلے معلوم ہوں، اور اگر وہ باتیں کریں تو اُن کی گفتگو تُو غور سے سنے (یعنی تجھے یوں معقول دکھائی دیں، مگر حقیقت یہ ہے کہ) وہ لوگ گویا دیوار کے سہارے کھڑی کی ہوئی لکڑیاں ہیں، وہ ہر اونچی آواز کو اپنے اوپر (بَلا اور آفت) سمجھتے ہیں، وہی (منافق تمہارے) دشمن ہیں سو اُن سے بچتے رہو، اللہ انہیں غارت کرے وہ کہاں بہکے پھرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When thou lookest at them, their exteriors please thee; and when they speak, thou listenest to their words. They are as (worthless as hollow) pieces of timber propped up, (unable to stand on their own). They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies; so beware of them. The curse of Allah be on them! How are they deluded (away from the Truth)!

| Words | |وإذا - And when| رأيتهم - you see them| تعجبك - pleases you| أجسامهم - their bodies,| وإن - and if| يقولوا - they speak,| تسمع - you listen| لقولهم - to their speech,| كأنهم - as if they (were)| خشب - pieces of wood| مسندة - propped up.| يحسبون - They think| كل - every| صيحة - shout| عليهم - (is) against them.| هم - They| العدو - (are) the enemy,| فاحذرهم - so beware of them.| قاتلهم - May destroy them| الله - Allah!| أنى - How| يؤفكون - are they deluded?| | ||||||
| 5. [63:5] | Wa-itha qeela lahum taAAalawyastaghfir lakum rasoolu Allahi lawwaw ruoosahumwaraaytahum yasuddoona wahum mustakbiroona | وإذا قيل لهم تعالوا يستغفر لكم رسول الله لووا رءوسهم ورأيتهم يصدون وهم مستكبرون وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لَوَّوْا رُؤُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب اُن سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ آؤ رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تمہارے لئے مغفرت طلب فرمائیں تو یہ (منافق گستاخی سے) اپنے سر جھٹک کر پھیر لیتے ہیں اور آپ انہیں دیکھتے ہیں کہ وہ تکبر کرتے ہوئے (آپ کی خدمت میں آنے سے) گریز کرتے ہیں٭ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allah will pray for your forgiveness", they turn aside their heads, and thou wouldst see them turning away their faces in arrogance.

| Words | |وإذا - And when| قيل - it is said| لهم - to them,| تعالوا - "Come,| يستغفر - will ask forgiveness| لكم - for you| رسول - (the) Messenger| الله - (of) Allah."| لووا - They turn aside| رءوسهم - their heads| ورأيتهم - and you see them| يصدون - turning away| وهم - while they| مستكبرون - (are) arrogant.| | ||||||
| 6. [63:8] | Yaqooloona la-in rajaAAna ilaalmadeenati layukhrijanna al-aAAazzu minha al-athallawalillahi alAAizzatu walirasoolihi walilmu/mineena walakinnaalmunafiqeena la yaAAlamoona | يقولون لئن رجعنا إلى المدينة ليخرجن الأعز منها الأذل ولله العزة ولرسوله وللمؤمنين ولكن المنافقين لا يعلمون يَقُولُونَ لَئِن رَّجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْأَذَلَّ وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ کہتے ہیں: اگر (اب) ہم مدینہ واپس ہوئے تو (ہم) عزّت والے لوگ وہاں سے ذلیل لوگوں (یعنی مسلمانوں) کو باہر نکال دیں گے، حالانکہ عزّت تو صرف اللہ کے لئے اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لئے اور مومنوں کے لئے ہے مگر منافقین (اس حقیقت کو) جانتے نہیں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They say, "If we return to Medina, surely the more honourable (element) will expel therefrom the meaner." But honour belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and to the Believers; but the Hypocrites know not.

| Words | |يقولون - They say,| لئن - "If| رجعنا - we return| إلى - to| المدينة - Al-Madinah,| ليخرجن - surely, will expel| الأعز - the more honorable| منها - from it| الأذل - the more humble."| ولله - But for Allah| العزة - (is) the honor| ولرسوله - and for His Messenger| وللمؤمنين - and for the believers,| ولكن - but| المنافقين - the hypocrites| لا - (do) not| يعلمون - know.| | ||||||
| 7. [63:6] | Sawaon AAalayhim astaghfarta lahum amlam tastaghfir lahum lan yaghfira Allahu lahum inna Allahala yahdee alqawma alfasiqeena | سواء عليهم أستغفرت لهم أم لم تستغفر لهم لن يغفر الله لهم إن الله لا يهدي القوم الفاسقين سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ لَن يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اِن (بدبخت گستاخانِ رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے حق میں برابر ہے کہ آپ اُن کے لئے استغفار کریں یا آپ ان کے لئے استغفار نہ کریں، اللہ ان کو (تو) ہرگز نہیں بخشے گا (کیونکہ یہ آپ پر طعنہ زنی کرنے والے اور آپ سے بے رخی اور تکبّر کرنے والے لوگ ہیں)۔ بیشک اللہ نافرمان لوگوں کو ہدایت نہیں فرماتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is equal to them whether thou pray for their forgiveness or not. Allah will not forgive them. Truly Allah guides not rebellious transgressors.

| 8. [63:11] | Walan yu-akhkhira Allahu nafsan ithajaa ajaluha waAllahu khabeerun bimataAAmaloona | ولن يؤخر الله نفسا إذا جاء أجلها والله خبير بما تعملون وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهَا وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ ہرگز کسی شخص کو مہلت نہیں دیتا جب اس کی موت کا وقت آجاتا ہے، اور اللہ اُن کاموں سے خوب آگاہ ہے جو تم کرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But to no soul will Allah grant respite when the time appointed (for it) has come; and Allah is well acquainted with (all) that ye do.

| Words | |ولن - But never| يؤخر - will (be) delayed| الله - (by) Allah| نفسا - a soul| إذا - when| جاء - has come| أجلها - its term.| والله - And Allah| خبير - (is) All-Aware| بما - of what| تعملون - you do.| | ||||||
| 9. [63:7] | Humu allatheena yaqooloona latunfiqoo AAala man AAinda rasooli Allahi hattayanfaddoo walillahi khaza-inu alssamawatiwaal-ardi walakinna almunafiqeena layafqahoona | هم الذين يقولون لا تنفقوا على من عند رسول الله حتى ينفضوا ولله خزائن السماوات والأرض ولكن المنافقين لا يفقهون هُمُ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُوا عَلَى مَنْ عِندَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَنفَضُّوا وَلِلَّهِ خَزَائِنُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَكِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جو (آپ سے بُغض و عِناد کی بنا پر) یہ (بھی) کہتے ہیں کہ جو (درویش اور فقراء) رسول اللہ (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی خدمت میں رہتے ہیں اُن پر خرچ مت کرو (یعنی ان کی مالی اعانت نہ کرو) یہاں تک کہ وہ (سب انہیں چھوڑ کر) بھاگ جائیں (منتشر ہوجائیں)، حالانکہ آسمانوں اور زمین کے سارے خزانے اللہ ہی کے ہیں لیکن منافقین نہیں سمجھتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They are the ones who say, "Spend nothing on those who are with Allah's Messenger, to the end that they may disperse (and quit Medina)." But to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth; but the Hypocrites understand not.

[63:9] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tulhikum amwalukum wala awladukumAAan thikri Allahi waman yafAAal thalikafaola-ika humu alkhasiroona | يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تلهكم أموالكم ولا أولادكم عن ذكر الله ومن يفعل ذلك فأولئك هم الخاسرون يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے ایمان والو! تمہارے مال اور تمہاری اولاد (کہیں) تمہیں اللہ کی یاد سے ہی غافل نہ کر دیں، اور جو شخص ایسا کرے گا تو وہی لوگ نقصان اٹھانے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O ye who believe! Let not your riches or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. If any act thus, the loss is their own.

[63:10] | Waanfiqoo min ma razaqnakummin qabli an ya/tiya ahadakumu almawtu fayaqoola rabbilawla akhkhartanee ila ajalin qareebin faassaddaqawaakun mina alssaliheena | وأنفقوا من ما رزقناكم من قبل أن يأتي أحدكم الموت فيقول رب لولا أخرتني إلى أجل قريب فأصدق وأكن من الصالحين وَأَنفِقُوا مِن مَّا رَزَقْنَاكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَا أَخَّرْتَنِي إِلَى أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ فَأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم اس (مال) میں سے جو ہم نے تمہیں عطا کیا ہے (اللہ کی راہ میں) خرچ کرو قبل اِس کے کہ تم میں سے کسی کو موت آجائے پھر وہ کہنے لگے: اے میرے رب! تو نے مجھے تھوڑی مدت تک کی مہلت اور کیوں نہ دے دی کہ میں صدقہ و خیرات کرلیتا اور نیکوکاروں میں سے ہو جاتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | and spend something (in charity) out of the substance which We have bestowed on you, before Death should come to any of you and he should say, "O my Lord! why didst Thou not give me respite for a little while? I should then have given (largely) in charity, and I should have been one of the doers of good".
