Walamma waqaAAa AAalayhimu alrrijzuqaloo ya moosa odAAu lana rabbaka bimaAAahida AAindaka la-in kashafta AAanna alrrijzalanu/minanna laka walanursilanna maAAaka banee isra-eela ولما وقع عليهم الرجز قالوا يا موسى ادع لنا ربك بما عهد عندك لئن كشفت عنا الرجز لنؤمنن لك ولنرسلن معك بني إسرائيل
وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّجْزُ قَالُواْ يَا مُوسَى ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا الرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِي إِسْرَآئِيلَ

  اور جب ان پر (کوئی) عذاب واقع ہوتا تو کہتے: اے موسٰی! آپ ہمارے لئے اپنے رب سے دعا کریں اس عہد کے وسیلہ سے جو (اس کا) آپ کے پاس ہے، اگر آپ ہم سے اس عذاب کو ٹال دیں تو ہم ضرور آپ پر ایمان لے آئیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو (بھی آزاد کر کے) آپ کے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے

Yousuf AliEvery time the penalty fell on them, they said: "O Moses! on your behalf call on thy Lord in virtue of his promise to thee: If thou wilt remove the penalty from us, we shall truly believe in thee, and we shall send away the Children of Israel with thee."

Ahmed Aliاور جب ان پر کوئی عذاب آتا تو کہتے اے موسیٰ ہمارے لیے اپنے رب سے دعا کر جس کا اس نے تجھ سے عہد کر رکھا ہے اگر تو نے ہم سے یہ عذاب دور کر دیا تو بے شک ہم تجھ پر ایمان لے آئيں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو تیرے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khanاور جب ان پر عذاب پڑتا کہتے اے موسیٰ ہمارے لیے اپنے رب سے دعا کرو اس عہد کے سبب جو اس کا تمہارے پاس ہے بیشک اگر تم ہم پر عذاب اٹھادو گے تو ہم ضرور تم پر ایمان لائیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو تمہارے ساتھ کردیں گے،
Shabbir Ahmed اور جب بھی نازل ہوتا اُن پر کوئی عذاب تو کہتے اے موسیٰ! دُعا کرو ہمارے حق میں اپنے رب سے اُس منصب کی بنا پر جو تمہیں حاصل ہے اگر تم ٹلوا دو ہم سے اس عذاب کو تو ہم ضرور ایمان لے آئیں گے تم پر اور بھیج دیں گے تمہارے ساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyاور جب ان پر عذاب واقع ہوتا تو کہتے کہ موسیٰ ہمارے لیے اپنے پروردگار سے دعا کرو۔ جیسا اس نے تم سے عہد کر رکھا ہے۔ اگر تم ہم سے عذاب کو ٹال دو گے تو ہم تم پر ایمان بھی لے آئیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو بھی تمہارے ساتھ جانے (کی اجازت) دیں گے
Mehmood Al Hassanاور جب پڑتا ان پر کوئی عذاب تو کہتے اے موسٰی دعا کر ہمارے واسطے اپنے رب سے جیسا کہ اس نے بتلا رکھا ہے تجھ کو اگر تو نے دور کر دیا ہم سے یہ عذاب تو بیشک ہم ایمان لے آئیں گے تجھ پر اور جانے دیں گے تیرے ساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو
Abul Ala Maududiجب کبھی اُن پر بلا نازل ہو جاتی تو کہتے "اے موسیٰؑ، تجھے اپنے رب کی طرف سے جو منصب حاصل ہے اس کی بنا پر ہمارے حق میں دعا کر، اگر اب کے تو ہم پر سے یہ بلا ٹلوا دے تو ہم تیری بات مان لیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو تیرے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے"

Arberry And when the wrath fell upon them, they said, 'Moses, pray to thy Lord for us by the covenant He has made with thee. If thou removest from us the wrath, surely we will believe thee, and send forth with thee the Children of Israel.'
ShakirAnd when the plague fell upon them, they said: O Musa! pray for us to your Lord as He has promised with you, if you remove the plague from us, we will certainly believe in you and we will certainly send away with you the children of Israel.
SarwarWhen the torment would strike them, they would ask Moses, "Pray for us to your Lord through your covenant with Him. If He saves us from the torment, we shall certainly believe in you and permit you and the children of Israel to leave".

MalikEvery time the plague befell them, they said: "O Moses! Pray for us to your Lord as He has made the promise with you, if you help remove the plague from us, we shall truly believe in you and send the Children of Israel with you."[134]

QXP Shabbir Ahemd**(The irrational Egyptians continued to remain sunken in superstition.) Whenever hardship struck, they turned to Moses for prayer stating that Allah had a pledge with him, and promising that they would believe and let the Children of Israel go with him. (They did not understand that the pledge of Allah with His Messenger was only that of obeying His Commands and His blessings in return. It did not involve any supernatural phenomena such as miracles).
