| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [77:31] | La thaleelin walayughnee mina allahabi |  لا ظليل ولا يغني من اللهبلاَّ ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | جو نہ (تو) ٹھنڈا سایہ ہے اور نہ ہی آگ کی تپش سے بچانے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze.

| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک وہ (دوزخ) اونچے محل کی طرح (بڑے بڑے) شعلے اور چنگاریاں اڑاتی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts,

| Tahir ul Qadri | (یوں بھی لگتا ہے) گویا وہ (چنگاریاں) زرد رنگ والے اونٹ ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)."

| Yousuf Ali | Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

| 5. [77:35] | Hatha yawmu la yantiqoona | هذا يوم لا ينطقون هَذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ ایسا دن ہے کہ وہ (اس میں) بول بھی نہ سکیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak.

| 6. [77:36] | Wala yu/thanu lahum fayaAAtathiroona | ولا يؤذن لهم فيعتذرون وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور نہ ہی انہیں اجازت دی جائے گی کہ وہ معذرت کرسکیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas.

| Words | |ولا - And not| يؤذن - will it be permitted| لهم - for them| فيعتذرون - to make excuses.| | ||||||
| 7. [77:37] | Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena | ويل يومئذ للمكذبين وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُس دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے بڑی ہلاکت ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

| 8. [77:38] | Hatha yawmu alfasli jamaAAnakumwaal-awwaleena | هذا يوم الفصل جمعناكم والأولين هَذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ فیصلے کا دن ہے (جس میں) ہم تمہیں اور (سب) پہلے لوگوں کو جمع کریں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)!

| Words | |هذا - This| يوم - (is the) Day| الفصل - (of) Judgment;| جمعناكم - We have gathered you| والأولين - and the former (people).| | ||||||
| 9. [77:39] | Fa-in kana lakum kaydun fakeedooni | فإن كان لكم كيد فكيدون فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اگر تمہارے پاس (عذاب سے بچنے کا) کوئی حیلہ (اور داؤ) ہے تو (وہ) داؤ مجھ پر چلا لو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me!

| Words | |فإن - So if| كان - is| لكم - for you| كيد - a plan,| فكيدون - then plan against Me.| | ||||||
| 10. [77:40] | Waylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeena | ويل يومئذ للمكذبين وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس دن جھٹلانے والوں کے لئے بڑا افسوس ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

| Words | |ويل - Woe| يومئذ - that Day| للمكذبين - to the deniers.| | ||||||
| 11. [77:41] | Inna almuttaqeena fee thilalinwaAAuyoonin | إن المتقين في ظلال وعيون إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک پرہیزگار ٹھنڈے سایوں اور چشموں میں (عیش و راحت کے ساتھ) ہوں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | As to the Righteous, they shall be amidst (cool) shades and springs (of water).

| Words | |إن - Indeed,| المتقين - the righteous| في - (will be) in| ظلال - shades| وعيون - and springs,| | ||||||
| 12. [77:42] | Wafawakiha mimma yashtahoona | وفواكه مما يشتهون وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور پھل اور میوے جس کی بھی وہ خواہش کریں گے (ان کے لئے موجود ہوں گے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And (they shall have) fruits,- all they desire.

| Words | |وفواكه - And fruits| مما - from what| يشتهون - they desire.| | ||||||
| 13. [77:43] | Kuloo waishraboo hanee-an bimakuntum taAAmaloona | كلوا واشربوا هنيئا بما كنتم تعملون كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (ان سے کہا جائے گا:) تم خوب مزے سے کھاؤ پیو اُن اَعمالِ (صالحہ) کے عوض جو تم کرتے رہے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Eat ye and drink ye to your heart's content: for that ye worked (Righteousness).

| 14. [77:44] | Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena | إنا كذلك نجزي المحسنين إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک ہم اِسی طرح نیکو کاروں کو جزا دیا کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thus do We certainly reward the Doers of Good.

| Yousuf Ali | Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

| Yousuf Ali | Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

| 17. [77:46] | Kuloo watamattaAAoo qaleelan innakummujrimoona | كلوا وتمتعوا قليلا إنكم مجرمون كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اے حق کے منکرو!) تم تھوڑا عرصہ کھا لو اور فائدہ اٹھا لو، بے شک تم مجرم ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (O ye unjust!) Eat ye and enjoy yourselves (but) a little while, for that ye are Sinners.

| Words | |كلوا - Eat| وتمتعوا - and enjoy yourselves| قليلا - a little;| إنكم - indeed, you| مجرمون - (are) criminals."| | ||||||
| 18. [77:48] | Wa-itha qeela lahumu irkaAAoo layarkaAAoona | وإذا قيل لهم اركعوا لا يركعون وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ تم (اﷲ کے حضور) جھکو تو وہ نہیں جھکتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And when it is said to them, "Prostrate yourselves!" they do not so.

| Words | |وإذا - And when| قيل - it is said| لهم - to them,| اركعوا - "Bow,"| لا - not| يركعون - they bow.| | ||||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر وہ اِس (قرآن) کے بعد کس کلام پر ایمان لائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then what Message, after that, will they believe in?
