| 1. [15:1] | Alif-lam-ra tilka ayatualkitabi waqur-anin mubeenin |  الر تلك آيات الكتاب وقرآن مبينالر تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ وَقُرْآنٍ مُّبِينٍ | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | A. L. R. These are the Ayats of Revelation,- of a Qur'an that makes things clear.

| 2. [15:2] | Rubama yawaddu allatheenakafaroo law kanoo muslimeena | ربما يود الذين كفروا لو كانوا مسلمين رُّبَمَا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْ كَانُواْ مُسْلِمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کفار (آخرت میں مومنوں پر اللہ کی رحمت کے مناظر دیکھ کر) بار بار آرزو کریں گے کہ کاش! وہ مسلمان ہوتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to Allah's will) in Islam.

| 3. [15:3] | Tharhum ya/kuloo wayatamattaAAoowayulhihimu al-amalu fasawfa yaAAlamoona | ذرهم يأكلوا ويتمتعوا ويلههم الأمل فسوف يعلمون ذَرْهُمْ يَأْكُلُواْ وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ وَيُلْهِهِمُ الْأَمَلُ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | آپ (غمگین نہ ہوں) انہیں چھوڑ دیجئے وہ کھاتے (پیتے) رہیں اور عیش کرتے رہیں اور (ان کی) جھوٹی امیدیں انہیں (آخرت سے) غافل رکھیں پھر وہ عنقریب (اپنا انجام) جان لیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them).

| 4. [15:4] | Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illawalaha kitabun maAAloomun | وما أهلكنا من قرية إلا ولها كتاب معلوم وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلاَّ وَلَهَا كِتَابٌ مَّعْلُومٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے کوئی بھی بستی ہلاک نہیں کی مگر یہ کہ اُس کے لئے ایک معلوم نوشتۂ (قانون) تھا (جس کی انہوں نے خلاف ورزی کی اور اپنے انجام کو جا پہنچے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Never did We destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand.

| 5. [15:30] | Fasajada almala-ikatu kulluhumajmaAAoona | فسجد الملائكة كلهم أجمعون فَسَجَدَ الْمَلآئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس (اس پیکرِ بشری کے اندر نورِ ربانی کا چراغ جلتے ہی) سارے کے سارے فرشتوں نے سجدہ کیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together:

| Words | |فسجد - So prostrated| الملائكة - the Angels| كلهم - all of them| أجمعون - together,| | ||||||
| 6. [15:37] | Qala fa-innaka mina almunthareena | قال فإنك من المنظرين قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اللہ نے فرمایا: سو بیشک تو مہلت یافتہ لوگوں میں سے ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee
| ||||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| فإنك - "Then indeed you,| من - (are) of| المنظرين - the ones given respite.| | ||||||
| 7. [15:38] | Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi | إلى يوم الوقت المعلوم إِلَى يَومِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وقتِ مقررہ کے دن (قیامت) تک | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Till the Day of the Time appointed."

| Words | |إلى - Till| يوم - the Day| الوقت - (of) the time| المعلوم - well-known."| | ||||||
| 8. [15:5] | Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalahawama yasta/khiroona | ما تسبق من أمة أجلها وما يستأخرون مَّا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کوئی بھی قوم (قانونِ عروج و زوال کی) اپنی مقررہ مدت سے نہ آگے بڑھ سکتی ہے اور نہ پیچھے ہٹ سکتی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Neither can a people anticipate its term, nor delay it.

| Words | |ما - Not| تسبق - (can) advance| من - any| أمة - nation| أجلها - its term| وما - and not| يستأخرون - (can) delay it.| | ||||||
| 9. [15:6] | Waqaloo ya ayyuha allatheenuzzila AAalayhi alththikru innaka lamajnoonun | وقالوا يا أيها الذي نزل عليه الذكر إنك لمجنون وَقَالُواْ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِي نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجْنُونٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (کفار گستاخی کرتے ہوئے) کہتے ہیں: اے وہ شخص جس پر قرآن اتارا گیا ہے! بیشک تم دیوانے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They say: "O thou to whom the Message is being revealed! truly thou art mad (or possessed)!

| Words | |وقالوا - And they say,| يا - O| أيها - "O you| الذي - (to) whom| نزل - has been sent down| عليه - [on him]| الذكر - the Reminder,| إنك - indeed, you| لمجنون - (are) surely mad.| | ||||||
| 10. [15:7] | Law ma ta/teena bialmala-ikatiin kunta mina alssadiqeena | لو ما تأتينا بالملائكة إن كنت من الصادقين لَّوْ مَا تَأْتِينَا بِالْمَلَائِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تم ہمارے پاس فرشتوں کو کیوں نہیں لے آتے اگر تم سچے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Why bringest thou not angels to us if it be that thou hast the Truth?"

| Words | |لو - Why| ما - not| تأتينا - you bring to us| بالملائكة - the Angels,| إن - if| كنت - you are| من - of| الصادقين - the truthful?"| | ||||||
| 11. [15:8] | Ma nunazzilu almala-ikata illabialhaqqi wama kanoo ithan munthareena | ما ننزل الملائكة إلا بالحق وما كانوا إذا منظرين مَا نُنَزِّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَمَا كَانُواْ إِذًا مُّنظَرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ہم فرشتوں کو نہیں اتارا کرتے مگر (فیصلۂ) حق کے ساتھ (یعنی جب عذاب کی گھڑی آپہنچے تو اس کے نفاذ کے لئے اتارتے ہیں) اور اس وقت انہیں مہلت نہیں دی جاتی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have!

| Words | |ما - Not| ننزل - We send down| الملائكة - the Angels| إلا - except| بالحق - with the truth;| وما - and not| كانوا - they would be| إذا - then| منظرين - given respite.| | ||||||
| 12. [15:40] | Illa AAibadaka minhumualmukhlaseena | إلا عبادك منهم المخلصين إِلاَّ عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سوائے تیرے ان برگزیدہ بندوں کے جو (میرے اور نفس کے فریبوں سے) خلاصی پا چکے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)."

| Words | |إلا - Except,| عبادك - Your slaves| منهم - among them| المخلصين - the ones who are sincere."| | ||||||
| 13. [15:43] | Wa-inna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeena | وإن جهنم لموعدهم أجمعين وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوْعِدُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ان سب کے لئے وعدہ کی جگہ جہنم ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all!
| ||||||
| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| جهنم - Hell| لموعدهم - (is) surely the promised place for them| أجمعين - all.| | ||||||
| 14. [15:9] | Inna nahnu nazzalna alththikrawa-inna lahu lahafithoona | إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر وإنا له لحافظون إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک یہ ذکرِ عظیم (قرآن) ہم نے ہی اتارا ہے اور یقیناً ہم ہی اس کی حفاظت کریں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption).
| ||||||
| Words | |إنا - Indeed, We| نحن - We| نزلنا - have sent down| الذكر - the Reminder,| وإنا - and indeed, We| له - of it| لحافظون - (are) surely Guardians.| | ||||||
| 15. [15:10] | Walaqad arsalna min qablika feeshiyaAAi al-awwaleena | ولقد أرسلنا من قبلك في شيع الأولين وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے آپ سے قبل پہلی امتوں میں بھی رسول بھیجے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old:

| Words | |ولقد - And certainly| أرسلنا - We (had) sent| من - before you| قبلك - before you| في - in| شيع - the sects| الأولين - (of) the former (people).| | ||||||
| 16. [15:11] | Wama ya/teehim min rasoolin illakanoo bihi yastahzi-oona | وما يأتيهم من رسول إلا كانوا به يستهزئون وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ كَانُواْ بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِؤُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ان کے پاس کوئی رسول نہیں آتا تھا مگر یہ کہ وہ اس کے ساتھ مذاق کیا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him.
| ||||||
| Words | |وما - And not| يأتيهم - came to them| من - any| رسول - Messenger| إلا - but| كانوا - they did| به - at him| يستهزئون - mock.| | ||||||
| 17. [15:12] | Kathalika naslukuhu fee quloobialmujrimeena | كذلك نسلكه في قلوب المجرمين كَذَلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اسی طرح ہم اس (تمسخر اور استہزاء) کو مجرموں کے دلوں میں داخل کر دیتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners -

| Words | |كذلك - Thus| نسلكه - We let it enter| في - in| قلوب - (the) hearts| المجرمين - (of) the criminals.| | ||||||
| 18. [15:46] | Odkhulooha bisalamin amineena | ادخلوها بسلام آمنين ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلاَمٍ آمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (ان سے کہا جائے گا:) ان میں سلامتی کے ساتھ بے خوف ہو کر داخل ہو جاؤ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security."
| ||||||
| Words | |ادخلوها - "Enter it| بسلام - in peace,| آمنين - secure."| | ||||||
| 19. [15:51] | Wanabbi/hum AAan dayfi ibraheema | ونبئهم عن ضيف إبراهيم وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْراَهِيمَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور انہیں ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کے مہمانوں کی خبر (بھی) سنائیے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Tell them about the guests of Abraham.
| ||||||
| Words | |ونبئهم - And inform them| عن - about| ضيف - (the) guests| إبراهيم - (of) Ibrahim,| | ||||||
| 20. [15:62] | Qala innakum qawmun munkaroona | قال إنكم قوم منكرون قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | لوط (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: بیشک تم اجنبی لوگ (معلوم ہوتے) ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk."
| ||||||
| Words | |قال - He said,| إنكم - "Indeed, you| قوم - (are) a people| منكرون - unknown."| | ||||||
| 21. [15:64] | Waataynaka bialhaqqiwa-inna lasadiqoona | وأتيناك بالحق وإنا لصادقون وَأَتَيْنَاكَ بَالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم آپ کے پاس حق (کا فیصلہ) لے کر آئے ہیں اور ہم یقیناً سچے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth.
| ||||||
| Words | |وأتيناك - And we have come to you| بالحق - with the truth,| وإنا - and indeed, we| لصادقون - surely (are) truthful.| | ||||||
| 22. [15:13] | La yu/minoona bihi waqad khalatsunnatu al-awwaleena | لا يؤمنون به وقد خلت سنة الأولين لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ لوگ اِس (قرآن) پر ایمان نہیں لائیں گے اور بیشک پہلوں کی (یہی) روش گزر چکی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away.
| ||||||
| Words | |لا - Not| يؤمنون - they believe| به - in it,| وقد - and verily| خلت - have passed| سنة - the way(s)| الأولين - (of) the former (people).| | ||||||
| 23. [15:14] | Walaw fatahna AAalayhim babanmina alssama-i fathalloo feehiyaAArujoona | ولو فتحنا عليهم بابا من السماء فظلوا فيه يعرجون وَلَوْ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَابًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فَظَلُّواْ فِيهِ يَعْرُجُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر ہم ان پر آسمان کا کوئی دروازہ (بھی) کھول دیں (اور ان کے لئے یہ بھی ممکن بنا دیں کہ) وہ سارا دن اس میں (سے) اوپر چڑھتے رہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein,

| Words | |ولو - And (even) if| فتحنا - We opened| عليهم - to them| بابا - a gate| من - from| السماء - the heaven,| فظلوا - and they were to continue| فيه - therein| يعرجون - (to) ascend,| | ||||||
| 24. [15:15] | Laqaloo innama sukkirat absarunabal nahnu qawmun mashooroona | لقالوا إنما سكرت أبصارنا بل نحن قوم مسحورون لَقَالُواْ إِنَّمَا سُكِّرَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا بَلْ نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ مَّسْحُورُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (تب بھی) یہ لوگ یقیناً (یہ) کہیں گے کہ ہماری آنکھیں (کسی حیلہ و فریب کے ذریعے) باندھ دی گئی ہیں بلکہ ہم لوگوں پر جادو کر دیا گیا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery."

| Words | |لقالوا - They would surely say| إنما - "Only| سكرت - have been dazzled| أبصارنا - our eyes.| بل - Nay,| نحن - we| قوم - (are) a people| مسحورون - bewitched."| | ||||||
| 25. [15:16] | Walaqad jaAAalna fee alssama-iburoojan wazayyannaha lilnnathireena | ولقد جعلنا في السماء بروجا وزيناها للناظرين وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِي السَّمَاءِ بُرُوجًا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا لِلنَّاظِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے آسمان میں (کہکشاؤں کی صورت میں ستاروں کی حفاطت کے لئے) قلعے بنائے اور ہم نے اس (خلائی کائنات) کو دیکھنے والوں کے لئے آراستہ کر دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is We Who have set out the zodiacal signs in the heavens, and made them fair-seeming to (all) beholders;
| ||||||
| Words | |ولقد - And verily| جعلنا - We have placed| في - in| السماء - the heavens| بروجا - constellations| وزيناها - and We have beautified it| للناظرين - for the observers.| | ||||||
| 26. [15:67] | Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroona | وجاء أهل المدينة يستبشرون وَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اہلِ شہر (اپنی بد مستی میں) خوشیاں مناتے ہوئے (لوط علیہ السلام کے پاس) آپہنچے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men).
| ||||||
| Words | |وجاء - And came| أهل - (the) people| المدينة - (of) the city,| يستبشرون - rejoicing.| | ||||||
| 27. [15:69] | Waittaqoo Allaha walatukhzooni | واتقوا الله ولا تخزون وَاتَّقُوا اللّهَ وَلاَ تُخْزُونِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ (کے غضب) سے ڈرو اور مجھے رسوا نہ کرو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "But fear Allah, and shame me not."
| ||||||
| Words | |واتقوا - And fear| الله - Allah,| ولا - and (do) not| تخزون - disgrace me."| | ||||||
| 28. [15:17] | Wahafithnahamin kulli shaytanin rajeemin | وحفظناها من كل شيطان رجيم وَحَفِظْنَاهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ رَّجِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے اس (آسمانی کائنات کے نظام) کو ہر مردود شیطان (یعنی ہر سرکش قوت کے شرانگیز عمل) سے محفوظ کر دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And (moreover) We have guarded them from every cursed devil:

| Words | |وحفظناها - And We have protected it| من - from| كل - every| شيطان - devil| رجيم - accursed.| | ||||||
| 29. [15:18] | Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAafaatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun | إلا من استرق السمع فأتبعه شهاب مبين إِلاَّ مَنِ اسْتَرَقَ السَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | مگر جو کوئی بھی چوری چھپے سننے کے لئے آگھسا تو اس کے پیچھے ایک (جلتا) چمکتا شہاب ہو جاتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see).
| ||||||
| Words | |إلا - Except| من - (one) who| استرق - steals| السمع - the hearing,| فأتبعه - then follows him| شهاب - a burning flame| مبين - clear.| | ||||||
| 30. [15:19] | Waal-arda madadnahawaalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatnafeeha min kulli shay-in mawzoonin | والأرض مددناها وألقينا فيها رواسي وأنبتنا فيها من كل شيء موزون وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْزُونٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور زمین کو ہم نے (گولائی کے باوجود) پھیلا دیا اور ہم نے اس میں (مختلف مادوں کو باہم ملا کر) مضبوط پہاڑ بنا دیئے اور ہم نے اس میں ہر جنس کو (مطلوبہ) توازن کے مطابق نشو و نما دی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance.
