| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [24:1] | Sooratun anzalnaha wafaradnahawaanzalna feeha ayatin bayyinatinlaAAallakum tathakkaroona |  سورة أنزلناها وفرضناها وأنزلنا فيها آيات بينات لعلكم تذكرونسُورَةٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهَا وَفَرَضْنَاهَا وَأَنزَلْنَا فِيهَا آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | (یہ) ایک (عظیم) سورت ہے جسے ہم نے اتارا ہے اور ہم نے اس (کے احکام) کو فرض کر دیا ہے اور ہم نے اس میں واضح آیتیں نازل فرمائی ہیں تاکہ تم نصیحت حاصل کرو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | A sura which We have sent down and which We have ordained in it have We sent down Clear Signs, in order that ye may receive admonition.

| Words | |سورة - A Surah -| أنزلناها - We (have) sent it down| وفرضناها - and We (have) made it obligatory,| وأنزلنا - and We (have) revealed| فيها - therein| آيات - Verses| بينات - clear,| لعلكم - so that you may| تذكرون - take heed.| | ||||||

[24:2] | Alzzaniyatu waalzzaneefaijlidoo kulla wahidin minhuma mi-atajaldatin wala ta/khuthkum bihima ra/fatunfee deeni Allahi in kuntum tu/minoona biAllahiwaalyawmi al-akhiri walyashhad AAathabahumata-ifatun mina almu/mineena | الزانية والزاني فاجلدوا كل واحد منهما مائة جلدة ولا تأخذكم بهما رأفة في دين الله إن كنتم تؤمنون بالله واليوم الآخر وليشهد عذابهما طائفة من المؤمنين الزَّانِيَةُ وَالزَّانِي فَاجْلِدُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا مِئَةَ جَلْدَةٍ وَلَا تَأْخُذْكُم بِهِمَا رَأْفَةٌ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَلْيَشْهَدْ عَذَابَهُمَا طَائِفَةٌ مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بدکار عورت اور بدکار مرد (اگر غیر شادی شدہ ہوں) تو ان دونوں میں سے ہر ایک کو (شرائطِ حد کے ساتھ جرمِ زنا کے ثابت ہو جانے پر) سو (سو) کوڑے مارو (جبکہ شادی شدہ مرد و عورت کی بدکاری پر سزا رجم ہے اور یہ سزائے موت ہے) اور تمہیں ان دونوں پر (دین کے حکم کے اجراء) میں ذرا ترس نہیں آنا چاہئے اگر تم اللہ پر اور آخرت کے دن پر ایمان رکھتے ہو، اور چاہئے کہ ان دونوں کی سزا (کے موقع) پر مسلمانوں کی (ایک اچھی خاصی) جماعت موجود ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment.

| 3. [24:3] | Alzzanee la yankihuilla zaniyatan aw mushrikatan waalzzaniyatula yankihuha illa zanin awmushrikun wahurrima thalika AAalaalmu/mineena | الزاني لا ينكح إلا زانية أو مشركة والزانية لا ينكحها إلا زان أو مشرك وحرم ذلك على المؤمنين الزَّانِي لَا يَنكِحُ إلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوْ مُشْرِكَةً وَالزَّانِيَةُ لَا يَنكِحُهَا إِلَّا زَانٍ أَوْ مُشْرِكٌ وَحُرِّمَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بدکار مرد سوائے بدکار عورت یا مشرک عورت کے (کسی پاکیزہ عورت سے) نکاح (کرنا پسند) نہیں کرتا اور بدکار عورت (بھی) سوائے بدکار مرد یا مشرک کے (کسی صالح شخص سے) نکاح (کرنا پسند) نہیں کرتی، اور یہ (فعلِ زنا) مسلمانوں پر حرام کر دیا گیا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Let no man guilty of adultery or fornication marry and but a woman similarly guilty, or an Unbeliever: nor let any but such a man or an Unbeliever marry such a woman: to the Believers such a thing is forbidden.

[24:4] | Waallatheena yarmoona almuhsanatithumma lam ya/too bi-arbaAAati shuhadaa faijlidoohumthamaneena jaldatan wala taqbaloo lahum shahadatanabadan waola-ika humu alfasiqoona | والذين يرمون المحصنات ثم لم يأتوا بأربعة شهداء فاجلدوهم ثمانين جلدة ولا تقبلوا لهم شهادة أبدا وأولئك هم الفاسقون وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ثَمَانِينَ جَلْدَةً وَلَا تَقْبَلُوا لَهُمْ شَهَادَةً أَبَدًا وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ پاک دامن عورتوں پر (بدکاری کی) تہمت لگائیں پھر چار گواہ پیش نہ کر سکیں تو تم انہیں (سزائے قذف کے طور پر) اسّی کوڑے لگاؤ اور کبھی بھی ان کی گواہی قبول نہ کرو، اور یہی لوگ بدکردار ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And those who launch a charge against chaste women, and produce not four witnesses (to support their allegations),- flog them with eighty stripes; and reject their evidence ever after: for such men are wicked transgressors;-

| Words | |والذين - And those who| يرمون - accuse| المحصنات - the chaste women,| ثم - then| لم - not| يأتوا - they bring| بأربعة - four| شهداء - witnesses,| فاجلدوهم - then flog them| ثمانين - (with) eighty| جلدة - lashe(s)| ولا - and (do) not| تقبلوا - accept| لهم - their| شهادة - testimony| أبدا - ever.| وأولئك - And those,| هم - they| الفاسقون - (are) the defiantly disobedient,| | ||||||
| 5. [24:5] | Illa allatheena taboomin baAAdi thalika waaslahoo fa-inna Allahaghafoorun raheemun | إلا الذين تابوا من بعد ذلك وأصلحوا فإن الله غفور رحيم إِلَّا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا مِن بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سوائے ان کے جنہوں نے اس (تہمت لگنے) کے بعد توبہ کر لی اور (اپنی) اصلاح کر لی، تو بیشک اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے (ان کا شمار فاسقوں میں نہیں ہوگا مگر اس سے حدِ قذف معاف نہیں ہوگی) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Unless they repent thereafter and mend (their conduct); for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[24:6] | Waallatheena yarmoona azwajahumwalam yakun lahum shuhadao illa anfusuhum fashahadatuahadihim arbaAAu shahadatin biAllahiinnahu lamina alssadiqeena | والذين يرمون أزواجهم ولم يكن لهم شهداء إلا أنفسهم فشهادة أحدهم أربع شهادات بالله إنه لمن الصادقين وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ شُهَدَاءُ إِلَّا أَنفُسُهُمْ فَشَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَرْبَعُ شَهَادَاتٍ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ اپنی بیویوں پر (بدکاری کی) تہمت لگائیں اور ان کے پاس سوائے اپنی ذات کے کوئی گواہ نہ ہوں تو ایسے کسی بھی ایک شخص کی گواہی یہ ہے کہ (وہ خود) چار مرتبہ اللہ کی قَسم کھا کر گواہی دے کہ وہ (الزام لگانے میں) سچا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And for those who launch a charge against their spouses, and have (in support) no evidence but their own,- their solitary evidence (can be received) if they bear witness four times (with an oath) by Allah that they are solemnly telling the truth;

| 7. [24:7] | Waalkhamisatu anna laAAnata AllahiAAalayhi in kana mina alkathibeena | والخامسة أن لعنت الله عليه إن كان من الكاذبين وَالْخَامِسَةُ أَنَّ لَعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور پانچویں مرتبہ یہ (کہے) کہ اس پر اللہ کی لعنت ہو اگر وہ جھوٹا ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the fifth (oath) (should be) that they solemnly invoke the curse of Allah on themselves if they tell a lie.

| Words | |والخامسة - And the fifth| أن - that| لعنت - (the) curse of Allah| الله - (the) curse of Allah| عليه - (be) upon him| إن - if| كان - he is| من - of| الكاذبين - the liars.| | ||||||
| 8. [24:8] | Wayadrao AAanha alAAathaba antashhada arbaAAa shahadatin biAllahiinnahu lamina alkathibeena | ويدرأ عنها العذاب أن تشهد أربع شهادات بالله إنه لمن الكاذبين وَيَدْرَؤُاْ عَنْهَا الْعَذَابَ أَنْ تَشْهَدَ أَرْبَعَ شَهَادَاتٍ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اسی طرح) یہ بات اس (عورت) سے (بھی) سزا کو ٹال سکتی ہے کہ وہ چار مرتبہ اللہ کی قسم کھا کر (خود) گواہی دے کہ وہ (مرد اس تہمت کے لگانے میں) جھوٹا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But it would avert the punishment from the wife, if she bears witness four times (with an oath) By Allah, that (her husband) is telling a lie;

| Words | |ويدرأ - But it would prevent| عنها - from her| العذاب - the punishment| أن - that| تشهد - she bears witness| أربع - four| شهادات - testimonies| بالله - by Allah| إنه - that he| لمن - (is) surely of| الكاذبين - the liars.| | ||||||
| 9. [24:9] | Waalkhamisata anna ghadabaAllahi AAalayha in kana mina alssadiqeena | والخامسة أن غضب الله عليها إن كان من الصادقين وَالْخَامِسَةَ أَنَّ غَضَبَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور پانچویں مرتبہ یہ (کہے) کہ اس پر (یعنی مجھ پر) اللہ کا غضب ہو اگر یہ (مرد اس الزام لگانے میں) سچا ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And the fifth (oath) should be that she solemnly invokes the wrath of Allah on herself if (her accuser) is telling the truth.

| Words | |والخامسة - And the fifth,| أن - that| غضب - the wrath of Allah| الله - the wrath of Allah| عليها - (be) upon her| إن - if| كان - he is| من - of| الصادقين - the truthful.| | ||||||
| 10. [24:10] | Walawla fadlu AllahiAAalaykum warahmatuhu waanna Allaha tawwabunhakeemun | ولولا فضل الله عليكم ورحمته وأن الله تواب حكيم وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ حَكِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر تم پر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی (تو تم ایسے حالات میں زیادہ پریشان ہوتے) اور بیشک اللہ بڑا ہی توبہ قبول فرمانے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | If it were not for Allah's grace and mercy on you, and that Allah is Oft-Returning, full of Wisdom,- (Ye would be ruined indeed).

| Words | |ولولا - And if not| فضل - (for) the Grace of Allah| الله - (for) the Grace of Allah| عليكم - upon you| ورحمته - and His Mercy -| وأن - and that,| الله - Allah| تواب - (is) Oft-Returning (to Mercy),| حكيم - All-Wise.| | ||||||

[24:11] | Inna allatheena jaoo bial-ifkiAAusbatun minkum la tahsaboohu sharran lakumbal huwa khayrun lakum likulli imri-in minhum ma iktasabamina al-ithmi waallathee tawalla kibrahuminhum lahu AAathabun AAatheemun | إن الذين جاءوا بالإفك عصبة منكم لا تحسبوه شرا لكم بل هو خير لكم لكل امرئ منهم ما اكتسب من الإثم والذي تولى كبره منهم له عذاب عظيم إِنَّ الَّذِينَ جَاؤُوا بِالْإِفْكِ عُصْبَةٌ مِّنكُمْ لَا تَحْسَبُوهُ شَرًّا لَّكُم بَلْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُم مَّا اكْتَسَبَ مِنَ الْإِثْمِ وَالَّذِي تَوَلَّى كِبْرَهُ مِنْهُمْ لَهُ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جن لوگوں نے (عائشہ صدیقہ طیبہ طاہرہ رضی اﷲ عنہا پر) بہتان لگایا تھا (وہ بھی) تم ہی میں سے ایک جماعت تھی، تم اس (بہتان کے واقعہ) کو اپنے حق میں برا مت سمجھو بلکہ وہ تمہارے حق میں بہتر (ہوگیا) ہے٭ ان میں سے ہر ایک کے لئے اتنا ہی گناہ ہے جتنا اس نے کمایا، اور ان میں سے جس نے اس (بہتان) میں سب سے زیادہ حصہ لیا اس کے لئے زبردست عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who brought forward the lie are a body among yourselves: think it not to be an evil to you; On the contrary it is good for you: to every man among them (will come the punishment) of the sin that he earned, and to him who took on himself the lead among them, will be a penalty grievous.

[24:12] | Lawla ith samiAAtumoohu thannaalmu/minoona waalmu/minatu bi-anfusihim khayran waqaloohatha ifkun mubeenun | لولا إذ سمعتموه ظن المؤمنون والمؤمنات بأنفسهم خيرا وقالوا هذا إفك مبين لَوْلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ خَيْرًا وَقَالُوا هَذَا إِفْكٌ مُّبِينٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ایسا کیوں نہ ہوا کہ جب تم نے اس (بہتان) کو سنا تھا تو مومن مرد اور مومن عورتیں اپنوں کے بارے میں نیک گمان کر لیتے اور (یہ) کہہ دیتے کہ یہ کھلا (جھوٹ پر مبنی) بہتان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Why did not the believers - men and women - when ye heard of the affair,- put the best construction on it in their own minds and say, "This (charge) is an obvious lie"?

| Words | |لولا - Why not,| إذ - when| سمعتموه - you heard it,| ظن - think| المؤمنون - the believing men| والمؤمنات - and the believing women| بأنفسهم - good of themselves| خيرا - good of themselves| وقالوا - and say,| هذا - "This| إفك - (is) a lie| مبين - clear?"| | ||||||

[24:13] | Lawla jaoo AAalayhibi-arbaAAati shuhadaa fa-ith lam ya/too bialshshuhada-ifaola-ika AAinda Allahi humu alkathiboona | لولا جاءوا عليه بأربعة شهداء فإذ لم يأتوا بالشهداء فأولئك عند الله هم الكاذبون لَوْلَا جَاؤُوا عَلَيْهِ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاءَ فَإِذْ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِالشُّهَدَاءِ فَأُوْلَئِكَ عِندَ اللَّهِ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ (افترا پرداز لوگ) اس (طوفان) پر چار گواہ کیوں نہ لائے، پھر جب وہ گواہ نہیں لا سکے تو یہی لوگ اللہ کے نزدیک جھوٹے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Why did they not bring four witnesses to prove it? When they have not brought the witnesses, such men, in the sight of Allah, (stand forth) themselves as liars!

[24:14] | Walawla fadlu AllahiAAalaykum warahmatuhu fee alddunya waal-akhiratilamassakum fee ma afadtum feehi AAathabunAAatheemun | ولولا فضل الله عليكم ورحمته في الدنيا والآخرة لمسكم في ما أفضتم فيه عذاب عظيم وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِي مَا أَفَضْتُمْ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر تم پر دنیا و آخرت میں اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو جس (تہمت کے) چرچے میں تم پڑ گئے ہو اس پر تمہیں زبردست عذاب پہنچتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, in this world and the Hereafter, a grievous penalty would have seized you in that ye rushed glibly into this affair.

| Words | |ولولا - And if not| فضل - (for the) Grace| الله - (of) Allah| عليكم - upon you| ورحمته - and His Mercy| في - in| الدنيا - the world| والآخرة - and the Hereafter,| لمسكم - surely would have touched you| في - in| ما - what| أفضتم - you had rushed glibly| فيه - concerning it| عذاب - a punishment| عظيم - great.| | ||||||

[24:15] | Ith talaqqawnahu bi-alsinatikumwataqooloona bi-afwahikum ma laysa lakum bihiAAilmun watahsaboonahu hayyinan wahuwa AAinda AllahiAAatheemun | إذ تلقونه بألسنتكم وتقولون بأفواهكم ما ليس لكم به علم وتحسبونه هينا وهو عند الله عظيم إِذْ تَلَقَّوْنَهُ بِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَتَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَاهِكُم مَّا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَتَحْسَبُونَهُ هَيِّنًا وَهُوَ عِندَ اللَّهِ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب تم اس (بات) کو (ایک دوسرے سے سن کر) اپنی زبانوں پر لاتے رہے اور اپنے منہ سے وہ کچھ کہتے رہے جس کا (خود) تمہیں کوئی علم ہی نہ تھا اور اس (چرچے) کو معمولی بات خیال کر رہے تھے، حالانکہ وہ اللہ کے حضور بہت بڑی (جسارت ہو رہی) تھی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold, ye received it on your tongues, and said out of your mouths things of which ye had no knowledge; and ye thought it to be a light matter, while it was most serious in the sight of Allah.

[24:16] | Walawla ith samiAAtumoohuqultum ma yakoonu lana an natakallama bihathasubhanaka hatha buhtanun AAatheemun | ولولا إذ سمعتموه قلتم ما يكون لنا أن نتكلم بهذا سبحانك هذا بهتان عظيم وَلَوْلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ قُلْتُم مَّا يَكُونُ لَنَا أَن نَّتَكَلَّمَ بِهَذَا سُبْحَانَكَ هَذَا بُهْتَانٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب تم نے یہ (بہتان) سنا تھا تو تم نے (اسی وقت) یہ کیوں نہ کہہ دیا کہ ہمارے لئے یہ (جائز ہی) نہیں کہ ہم اسے زبان پر لے آئیں (بلکہ تم یہ کہتے کہ اے اللہ!) تو پاک ہے (اس بات سے کہ ایسی عورت کو اپنے حبیب مکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی محبوب زوجہ بنا دے)، یہ بہت بڑا بہتان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And why did ye not, when ye heard it, say? - "It is not right of us to speak of this: Glory to Allah! this is a most serious slander!"

| 17. [24:17] | YaAAithukumu Allahu antaAAoodoo limithlihi abadan in kuntum mu/mineena | يعظكم الله أن تعودوا لمثله أبدا إن كنتم مؤمنين يَعِظُكُمُ اللَّهُ أَن تَعُودُوا لِمِثْلِهِ أَبَدًا إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اللہ تم کو نصیحت فرماتا ہے کہ پھر کبھی بھی ایسی بات (عمر بھر) نہ کرنا اگر تم اہلِ ایمان ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Allah doth admonish you, that ye may never repeat such (conduct), if ye are (true) Believers.

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ تمہارے لئے آیتوں کو واضح طور پر بیان فرماتا ہے، اور اللہ خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And Allah makes the Signs plain to you: for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.

[24:19] | Inna allatheena yuhibboona antasheeAAa alfahishatu fee allatheena amanoolahum AAathabun aleemun fee alddunya waal-akhiratiwaAllahu yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona | إن الذين يحبون أن تشيع الفاحشة في الذين آمنوا لهم عذاب أليم في الدنيا والآخرة والله يعلم وأنتم لا تعلمون إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَن تَشِيعَ الْفَاحِشَةُ فِي الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جو لوگ اس بات کو پسند کرتے ہیں کہ مسلمانوں میں بے حیائی پھیلے ان کے لئے دنیا اور آخرت میں دردناک عذاب ہے، اور اللہ (ایسے لوگوں کے عزائم کو) جانتا ہے اور تم نہیں جانتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who love (to see) scandal published broadcast among the Believers, will have a grievous Penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: Allah knows, and ye know not.

| 20. [24:20] | Walawla fadlu AllahiAAalaykum warahmatuhu waanna Allaha raoofun raheemun | ولولا فضل الله عليكم ورحمته وأن الله رءوف رحيم وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ وَأَنَّ اللَّه رَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر تم پر (اس رسولِ مکرّم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے صدقہ میں) اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو (تم بھی پہلی امتوں کی طرح تباہ کر دیئے جاتے) مگر اللہ بڑا شفیق بڑا رحم فرمانے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, and that Allah is full of kindness and mercy, (ye would be ruined indeed).

[24:21] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tattabiAAoo khutuwati alshshaytaniwaman yattabiAA khutuwati alshshaytanifa-innahu ya/muru bialfahsha-i waalmunkariwalawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhuma zaka minkum min ahadin abadan walakinnaAllaha yuzakkee man yashao waAllahusameeAAun AAaleemun | يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تتبعوا خطوات الشيطان ومن يتبع خطوات الشيطان فإنه يأمر بالفحشاء والمنكر ولولا فضل الله عليكم ورحمته ما زكى منكم من أحد أبدا ولكن الله يزكي من يشاء والله سميع عليم يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَمَن يَتَّبِعْ خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ مَا زَكَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَبَدًا وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يُزَكِّي مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے ایمان والو! شیطان کے راستوں پر نہ چلو، اور جو شخص شیطان کے نقوشِ قدم پر چلتا ہے تو وہ یقیناً بے حیائی اور برے کاموں (کے فروغ) کا حکم دیتا ہے، اور اگر تم پر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو تم میں سے کوئی شخص بھی کبھی (اس گناہِ تہمت کے داغ سے) پاک نہ ہو سکتا لیکن اللہ جسے چاہتا ہے پاک فرما دیتا ہے، اور اللہ خوب سننے والا جاننے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O ye who believe! follow not Satan's footsteps: if any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is shameful and wrong: and were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, not one of you would ever have been pure: but Allah doth purify whom He pleases: and Allah is One Who hears and knows (all things).

[24:22] | Wala ya/tali oloo alfadliminkum waalssaAAati an yu/too olee alqurba waalmasakeenawaalmuhajireena fee sabeeli AllahiwalyaAAfoo walyasfahoo ala tuhibboonaan yaghfira Allahu lakum waAllahu ghafoorunraheemun | ولا يأتل أولو الفضل منكم والسعة أن يؤتوا أولي القربى والمساكين والمهاجرين في سبيل الله وليعفوا وليصفحوا ألا تحبون أن يغفر الله لكم والله غفور رحيم وَلَا يَأْتَلِ أُوْلُوا الْفَضْلِ مِنكُمْ وَالسَّعَةِ أَن يُؤْتُوا أُوْلِي الْقُرْبَى وَالْمَسَاكِينَ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلْيَعْفُوا وَلْيَصْفَحُوا أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَن يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم میں سے (دینی) بزرگی والے اور (دنیوی) کشائش والے (اب) اس بات کی قَسم نہ کھائیں کہ وہ (اس بہتان کے جرم میں شریک) رشتہ داروں اور محتاجوں اور اللہ کی راہ میں ہجرت کرنے والوں کو (مالی امداد نہ) دیں گے انہیں چاہئے کہ (ان کا قصور) معاف کر دیں اور (ان کی غلطی سے) درگزر کریں، کیا تم اس بات کو پسند نہیں کرتے کہ اللہ تمہیں بخش دے، اور اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Let not those among you who are endued with grace and amplitude of means resolve by oath against helping their kinsmen, those in want, and those who have left their homes in Allah's cause: let them forgive and overlook, do you not wish that Allah should forgive you? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[24:23] | Inna allatheena yarmoona almuhsanatialghafilati almu/minati luAAinoo fee alddunyawaal-akhirati walahum AAathabun AAatheemun | إن الذين يرمون المحصنات الغافلات المؤمنات لعنوا في الدنيا والآخرة ولهم عذاب عظيم إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ الْغَافِلَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ لُعِنُوا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جو لوگ ان پارسا مومن عورتوں پر جو (برائی کے تصور سے بھی) بے خبر اور ناآشنا ہیں (ایسی) تہمت لگاتے ہیں وہ دنیا اور آخرت (دونوں جہانوں) میں ملعون ہیں اور ان کے لئے زبردست عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who slander chaste women, indiscreet but believing, are cursed in this life and in the Hereafter: for them is a grievous Penalty,-

| 24. [24:24] | Yawma tashhadu AAalayhim alsinatuhumwaaydeehim waarjuluhum bima kanoo yaAAmaloona | يوم تشهد عليهم ألسنتهم وأيديهم وأرجلهم بما كانوا يعملون يَوْمَ تَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَلْسِنَتُهُمْ وَأَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جس دن (خود) ان کی زبانیں اور ان کے ہاتھ اور ان کے پاؤں انہی کے خلاف گواہی دیں گے کہ جو کچھ وہ کرتے رہے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | On the Day when their tongues, their hands, and their feet will bear witness against them as to their actions.

| 25. [24:25] | Yawma-ithin yuwaffeehimu Allahudeenahumu alhaqqa wayaAAlamoona anna Allaha huwa alhaqqualmubeenu | يومئذ يوفيهم الله دينهم الحق ويعلمون أن الله هو الحق المبين يَوْمَئِذٍ يُوَفِّيهِمُ اللَّهُ دِينَهُمُ الْحَقَّ وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِينُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس دن اللہ انہیں ان (کے اعمال) کی پوری پوری جزا جس کے وہ صحیح حق دار ہیں دے دے گا اور وہ جان لیں گے کہ اللہ (خود بھی) حق ہے (اور حق کو) ظاہر فرمانے والا (بھی) ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | On that Day Allah will pay them back (all) their just dues, and they will realise that Allah is the (very) Truth, that makes all things manifest.

[24:26] | Alkhabeethatu lilkhabeetheena waalkhabeethoonalilkhabeethati waalttayyibatu lilttayyibeenawaalttayyiboona lilttayyibatiola-ika mubarraoona mimma yaqooloona lahummaghfiratun warizqun kareemun | الخبيثات للخبيثين والخبيثون للخبيثات والطيبات للطيبين والطيبون للطيبات أولئك مبرءون مما يقولون لهم مغفرة ورزق كريم الْخَبِيثَاتُ لِلْخَبِيثِينَ وَالْخَبِيثُونَ لِلْخَبِيثَاتِ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَالطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَاتِ أُوْلَئِكَ مُبَرَّؤُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ناپاک عورتیں ناپاک مردوں کے لئے (مخصوص) ہیں اور پلید مرد پلید عورتوں کے لئے ہیں، اور (اسی طرح) پاک و طیب عورتیں پاکیزہ مردوں کے لئے (مخصوص) ہیں اور پاک و طیب مرد پاکیزہ عورتوں کے لئے ہیں (سو تم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی پاکیزگی و طہارت کو دیکھ کر خود سوچ لیتے کہ اللہ نے ان کے لئے زوجہ بھی کس قدر پاکیزہ و طیب بنائی ہوگی)، یہ (پاکیزہ لوگ) ان (تہمتوں) سے کلیتًا بری ہیں جو یہ (بدزبان) لوگ کہہ رہے ہیں، ان کے لئے (تو) بخشائش اور عزت و بزرگی والی عطا (مقدر ہو چکی) ہے (تم ان کی شان میں زبان درازی کر کے کیوں اپنا منہ کالا اور اپنی آخرت تباہ و برباد کرتے ہو) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Women impure are for men impure, and men impure for women impure and women of purity are for men of purity, and men of purity are for women of purity: these are not affected by what people say: for them there is forgiveness, and a provision honourable.

[24:27] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tadkhuloo buyootan ghayra buyootikum hattatasta/nisoo watusallimoo AAala ahliha thalikumkhayrun lakum laAAallakum tathakkaroona | يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تدخلوا بيوتا غير بيوتكم حتى تستأنسوا وتسلموا على أهلها ذلكم خير لكم لعلكم تذكرون يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ بُيُوتِكُمْ حَتَّى تَسْتَأْنِسُوا وَتُسَلِّمُوا عَلَى أَهْلِهَا ذَلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اے ایمان والو! اپنے گھروں کے سوا دوسرے گھروں میں داخل نہ ہوا کرو، یہاں تک کہ تم ان سے اجازت لے لو اور ان کے رہنے والوں کو (داخل ہوتے ہی) سلام کہا کرو، یہ تمہارے لئے بہتر (نصیحت) ہے تاکہ تم (اس کی حکمتوں میں) غور و فکر کرو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O ye who believe! enter not houses other than your own, until ye have asked permission and saluted those in them: that is best for you, in order that ye may heed (what is seemly).

[24:28] | Fa-in lam tajidoo feeha ahadanfala tadkhulooha hatta yu/thanalakum wa-in qeela lakumu irjiAAoo fairjiAAoo huwa azkalakum waAllahu bima taAAmaloona AAaleemun | فإن لم تجدوا فيها أحدا فلا تدخلوها حتى يؤذن لكم وإن قيل لكم ارجعوا فارجعوا هو أزكى لكم والله بما تعملون عليم فَإِن لَّمْ تَجِدُوا فِيهَا أَحَدًا فَلَا تَدْخُلُوهَا حَتَّى يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ وَإِن قِيلَ لَكُمُ ارْجِعُوا فَارْجِعُوا هُوَ أَزْكَى لَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اگر تم ان (گھروں) میں کسی شخص کو موجود نہ پاؤ تو تم ان کے اندر مت جایا کرو یہاں تک کہ تمہیں (اس بات کی) اجازت دی جائے اور اگر تم سے کہا جائے کہ واپس چلے جاؤ تو تم واپس پلٹ جایا کرو، یہ تمہارے حق میں بڑی پاکیزہ بات ہے، اور اللہ ان کاموں سے جو تم کرتے ہو خوب آگاہ ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | If ye find no one in the house, enter not until permission is given to you: if ye are asked to go back, go back: that makes for greater purity for yourselves: and Allah knows well all that ye do.

[24:29] | Laysa AAalaykum junahun an tadkhuloobuyootan ghayra maskoonatin feeha mataAAun lakum waAllahuyaAAlamu ma tubdoona wama taktumoona | ليس عليكم جناح أن تدخلوا بيوتا غير مسكونة فيها متاع لكم والله يعلم ما تبدون وما تكتمون لَّيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ مَسْكُونَةٍ فِيهَا مَتَاعٌ لَّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا تَكْتُمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس میں تم پر گناہ نہیں کہ تم ان مکانات (و عمارات) میں جو کسی کی مستقل رہائش گاہ نہیں ہیں (مثلاً ہوٹل، سرائے اور مسافر خانے وغیرہ میں بغیر اجازت کے) چلے جاؤ (کہ) ان میں تمہیں فائدہ اٹھانے کا حق (حاصل) ہے، اور اللہ ان (سب باتوں) کو جانتا ہے جو تم ظاہر کرتے ہو اور جو تم چھپاتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is no fault on your part to enter houses not used for living in, which serve some (other) use for you: And Allah has knowledge of what ye reveal and what ye conceal.
