Huwa allathee yusayyirukum feealbarri waalbahri hatta ithakuntum fee alfulki wajarayna bihim bireehin tayyibatinwafarihoo biha jaat-ha reehunAAasifun wajaahumu almawju min kulli makaninwathannoo annahum oheeta bihimdaAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeenala-in anjaytana min hathihi lanakoonanna mina alshshakireena هو الذي يسيركم في البر والبحر حتى إذا كنتم في الفلك وجرين بهم بريح طيبة وفرحوا بها جاءتها ريح عاصف وجاءهم الموج من كل مكان وظنوا أنهم أحيط بهم دعوا الله مخلصين له الدين لئن أنجيتنا من هذه لنكونن من الشاكرين
هُوَ الَّذِي يُسَيِّرُكُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنتُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَجَرَيْنَ بِهِم بِرِيحٍ طَيِّبَةٍ وَفَرِحُواْ بِهَا جَاءَتْهَا رِيحٌ عَاصِفٌ وَجَاءَهُمُ الْمَوْجُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَظَنُّواْ أَنَّهُمْ أُحِيطَ بِهِمْ دَعَوُاْ اللّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ لَئِنْ أَنجَيْتَنَا مِنْ هَـذِهِ لَنَكُونَنِّ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ

  وہی ہے جو تمہیں خشک زمین اور سمندر میں چلنے پھرنے (کی توفیق) دیتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ جب تم کشتیوں میں (سوار) ہوتے ہو اور وہ (کشتیاں) لوگوں کو لے کر موافق ہوا کے جھونکوں سے چلتی ہیں اور وہ اس سے خوش ہوتے ہیں تو (ناگہاں) ان (کشتیوں) کو تیز و تند ہوا کا جھونکا آلیتا ہے اور ہر طرف سے ان (سواروں) کو (جوش مارتی ہوئی) موجیں آگھیرتی ہیں اور وہ سمجھنے لگتے ہیں کہ (اب) وہ ان (لہروں) سے گھر گئے (تو اس وقت) وہ اللہ کو پکارتے ہیں (اس حال میں) کہ اپنے دین کو اسی کے لئے خالص کرنے والے ہیں (اور کہتے ہیں: اے اللہ!) اگر تو نے ہمیں اس (بَلا) سے نجات بخش دی تو ہم ضرور (تیرے) شکر گزار بندوں میں سے ہوجائیں گے

Yousuf AliHe it is Who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye even board ships;- they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think they are being overwhelmed: they cry unto Allah, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly show our gratitude!"

Ahmed Aliوہ وہی ہے جو تمہیں جنگل اور دریا میں سیر کرنے کی توفیق دیتا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب تم کشتیوں میں بیٹھتے ہو اور وہ کشتیاں لوگو ں کو موافق ہوا کے ذریعہ سے لے کرچلتی ہیں اور وہ لوگ ان سے خوش ہوتے ہیں تو ناگہاں تیز ہوا چلتی ہے اور ہر طرف سے ان پر لہریں چھانے لگتی ہیں اور و ہ خیال کرتے ہیں کہ بےشک وہ لہروں میں گھر گئے ہیں تو سب خالص اعتقاد سے الله ہی کو پکارنے لگتے ہیں کہ اگر تو ہمیں اس مصیبت سے بچادے تو ہم ضرور شکر گزار رہیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khanوہی ہے کہ تمہیں خشکی اور تری میں چلاتا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب تم کشتی میں ہو اور وہ اچھی ہوا سے انھیں لے کر چلیں اور اس پر خوش ہوئے ان پر آندھی کا جھونکا آیا اور ہر طرف لہروں نے انہیں آلیا اور سمجھ لے کہ ہم گِھر گئے اس وقت اللہ کو پکارتے ہیں نرے اس کے بندے ہوکر، کہ اگر تو اس سے ہمیں بچالے گا تو ہم ضرور شکر گزار ہوں گے
Shabbir Ahmed وہی تو ہے جو چلاتا ہے تم کو خشکی میں اور سمندر میں۔ یہاں تک کہ جب ہوتے ہو تم کشتیوں میں اور وہ لے کر چلتی ہیں لوگوں کو موافق ہواؤں کی مدد سے اور خوش ہوجاتے ہیں وہ اس پر تو یکایک آجاتی ہے اس (کشتی) پر بادِ مخالف اور آنے لگتی ہیں اُن پر موجیں ہر طرف سے اور وہ سمجھنے لگتے ہیں کہ یقینا وہ اب گھِرگئے ہیں (طوفان میں) تو اُس وقت دُعائیں مانگتے ہیں اللہ سے خالص کر کے اس کے لیے اپنے دین کو کہ اگر نجات دے دی تو نے ہم کو اس (مصیبت) سے تو ضرور ہوجائیں گے ہم (تیرے) شکر گزار بندے۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyوہی تو ہے جو تم کو جنگل اور دریا میں چلنے پھرنے اور سیر کرنے کی توفیق دیتا ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ جب تم کشتیوں میں (سوار) ہوتے اور کشتیاں پاکیزہ ہوا (کے نرم نرم جھونکوں) سے سواروں کو لے کر چلنے لگتی ہیں اور وہ ان سے خوش ہوتے ہیں تو ناگہاں زناٹے کی ہوا چل پڑتی ہے اور لہریں ہر طرف سے ان پر (جوش مارتی ہوئی) آنے لگتی ہیں اور وہ خیال کرتے ہیں کہ (اب تو) لہروں میں گھر گئے تو اس وقت خالص خدا ہی کی عبادت کرکے اس سے دعا مانگنے لگتے ہیں کہ (اے خدا) اگر تو ہم کو اس سے نجات بخشے تو ہم (تیرے) بہت ہی شکر گزار ہوں
Mehmood Al Hassanوہی تم کو پھراتا ہے جنگل اور دریا میں یہاں تک کہ جب تم بیٹھے کشتیوں میں اور لے کر چلیں وہ لوگوں کو اچھی ہوا سے اور خوش ہوئے اس سے آئی کشتیوں پر ہوا تند اور آئی ان پر موج ہر جگہ سے اور جان لیا انہوں نےکہ وہ گھر گئے پکارنے لگے اللہ کو خالص ہو کر اس کی بندگی
Abul Ala Maududiوہ اللہ ہی ہے جو تم کو خشکی اور تری میں چلاتا ہے چنانچہ جب تم کشتیوں میں سوار ہو کر بادِ موافق پر فرحاں و شاداں سفر کر رہے ہوتے ہو اور پھر یکایک بادِ مخالف کا زور ہوتا ہے اور ہر طرف سے موجوں کے تھپیڑے لگتے ہیں اور مسافر سمجھ لیتے ہیں کہ طوفان میں گھر گئے، اُس وقت سب اپنے دین کو اللہ ہی کے لیے خالص کر کے اس سے دُعائیں مانگتے ہیں کہ “اگر تو نے ہم کو اس بلا سے نجات دے دی تو ہم شکر گزار بندے بنیں گے"

LiteralHe is who makes you walk/move/ride in the shore/land and the sea (large body of water) until when you were in the ships, and We flowed/ran with them with a good/enjoyable wind/breeze, and they became happy/rejoiced with it, (then) a stormy/violent wind came to it, and the waves/surges came to them from every place, and they thought/assumed that they are (being) surrounded/encircled with them, they called God faithful/loyal/devoted for Him (in) the religion: "If (E) you saved/rescued us from this, we will become (E) from the thankful/grateful."

SarwarWhen you are rejoicing in a boat, a favorable breeze and a violent storm arises with waves surrounding you from all sides. Thinking that you will not survive, you start to pray sincerely to God. In prayer, you say, "If You rescue us from this we shall certainly be grateful".
