Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmunmina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla anyartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahumustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadlirabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fa-innamayashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun قال الذي عنده علم من الكتاب أنا آتيك به قبل أن يرتد إليك طرفك فلما رآه مستقرا عنده قال هذا من فضل ربي ليبلوني أأشكر أم أكفر ومن شكر فإنما يشكر لنفسه ومن كفر فإن ربي غني كريم
قَالَ الَّذِي عِندَهُ عِلْمٌ مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَن يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِندَهُ قَالَ هَذَا مِن فَضْلِ رَبِّي لِيَبْلُوَنِي أَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ وَمَن شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّي غَنِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ

  (پھر) ایک ایسے شخص نے عرض کیا جس کے پاس (آسمانی) کتاب کا کچھ علم تھا کہ میں اسے آپ کے پاس لا سکتا ہوں قبل اس کے کہ آپ کی نگاہ آپ کی طرف پلٹے (یعنی پلک جھپکنے سے بھی پہلے)، پھر جب (سلیمان علیہ السلام نے) اس (تخت) کو اپنے پاس رکھا ہوا دیکھا (تو) کہا: یہ میرے رب کا فضل ہے تاکہ وہ مجھے آزمائے کہ آیا میں شکر گزاری کرتا ہوں یا نا شکری، اور جس نے (اللہ کا) شکر ادا کیا سو وہ محض اپنی ہی ذات کے فائدہ کے لئے شکر مندی کرتا ہے اور جس نے ناشکری کی تو بیشک میرا رب بے نیاز، کرم فرمانے والا ہے

Yousuf AliSaid one who had knowledge of the Book: "I will bring it to thee within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord!- to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! and if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Free of all Needs, Supreme in Honour !"

Ahmed Aliاس شخص نے کہا جس کے پاس کتاب کا علم تھا میں اسے تیری آنکھ جھپکنے سے پہلے لا دیتا ہوں پھر جب اسے اپنے روبرو رکھا دیکھا تو کہنے لگا یہ میرے رب کا ایک فضل ہے تاکہ میری آزمائش کرے کیا میں شکر کرتا ہوں یا ناشکری اور جو شخص شکر کرتا ہے اپنے ہی نفع کے لیے شکر کرتا ہے اورجو ناشکری کرتا ہے تو میرا رب بھی بے پرواہ عزت والا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khanاس نے عرض کی جس کے پاس کتاب کا علم تھا کہ میں اسے حضور میں حاضر کردوں گا ایک پل مارنے سے پہلے پھر جب سلیمان نے تخت کو اپنے پاس رکھا دیکھا کہ یہ میرے رب کے فضل سے ہے، تاکہ مجھے آزمائے کہ میں شکر کرتا ہوں یا ناشکری، اور جو شکر کرے وہ اپنے بھلے کو شکر کرتا ہے اور جو ناشکری کرے تو میرا رب بے پرواہ ہے سب خوبیوں والا،
Shabbir Ahmed کہا اس شخص نے جس کے پاس تھا کتاب کا علم کہ میں لے آتا ہوں وہ تخت آپ کے پاس اس سے پہلے کہ جھپکے آپ کی پلک۔ چنانچہ جب دیکھا سلیمان نے اس تخت کو رکھا ہوا اپنے پاس تو پُکار اُٹھے یہ فضل ہے میرے رب کا۔ یہ اس لیے ہے تاکہ وہ مجھے آزمائے کہ میں شکر کرتا ہوں یا ناشکری کرتا ہوں اور جو کوئی شکر کرتا ہے تو درحقیقت وہ شکر کرتا ہے اپنے ہی فائدے کے لیے اور جو کوئی کفر کرتا ہے تو میرا رب بے نیاز اور بہت کریم ہے۔
Fateh Muhammad Jalandharyایک شخص جس کو کتاب الہیٰ کا علم تھا کہنے لگا کہ میں آپ کی آنکھ کے جھپکنے سے پہلے پہلے اسے آپ کے پاس حاضر کئے دیتا ہوں۔ جب سلیمان نے تخت کو اپنے پاس رکھا ہوا دیکھا تو کہا کہ یہ میرے پروردگار کا فضل ہے تاکہ مجھے آزمائے کہ میں شکر کرتا ہوں یا کفران نعمت کرتا ہوں اور جو شکر کرتا ہے تو اپنے ہی فائدے کے لئے شکر کرتا ہے اور جو ناشکری کرتا ہے تو میرا پروردگار بےپروا (اور) کرم کرنے والا ہے

Abul Ala Maududiجس شخص کے پاس کتاب کا علم تھا وہ بولا "میں آپ کی پلک جھپکنے سے پہلے اسے لائے دیتا ہوں" جونہی کہ سلیمانؑ نے وہ تخت اپنے پاس رکھا ہوا دیکھا، وہ پکار اٹھا "یہ میرے رب کا فضل ہے تاکہ وہ مجھے آزمائے کہ میں شکر کرتا ہوں یا کافر نعمت بن جاتا ہوں اور جو کوئی شکر کرتا ہے اس کا شکر اس کے اپنے ہی لیے مفید ہے، ورنہ کوئی ناشکری کرے تو میرا رب بے نیاز اور اپنی ذات میں آپ بزرگ ہے"

So when he saw it established/affixed at him, he said: "This (is) from my Lord's grace/favour/blessing, to test me do I thank/be grateful, or I disbelieve, and who thanked/became grateful, so but he thanks/becomes grateful for his self, and who disbelieved, so then my Lord (is) rich, honoured/generous ."

And when he saw it set in his presence, (Solomon) said: This is of the bounty of my Lord, that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful. Whosoever giveth thanks he only giveth thanks for (the good of) his own soul; and whosoever is ungrateful (is ungrateful only to his own soul's hurt). SarwarThe one who had knowledge from the Book said, "I can bring it to you before you even blink your eye." When Solomon saw the throne placed before him, he said, "This is a favor from my Lord by which He wants to test whether I am grateful or ungrateful. Whoever thanks God does so for his own good. Whoever is ungrateful to God should know that my Lord is Self-Sufficient and Benevolent."

As soon as Solomon saw the throne placed before him, he exclaimed: "This is by the grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful. Any who is grateful, surely his gratitude is a gain for his own soul, and any who is ungrateful should know that surely my Lord is Self-Sufficient, Self- Exalted."[40]

' And when he saw it set before him, he (Solomon) said: 'This is a favor from my Lord that He might test me whether I am thankful or ungrateful. Whosoever gives thanks gives thanks only for his (own soul's) good, but he who is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Rich and Generous. '

Hilali/Khan**One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: "I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!" then when (Sulaiman (Solomon)) saw it placed before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, his gratitude is for (the good of) his ownself, and whoever is ungrateful, (he is ungrateful only for the loss of his ownself). Certainly! My Lord is Rich (Free of all wants), Bountiful."
QXP Shabbir Ahemd**Another powerful commander, who had knowledge of the correspondence, said, "I can accomplish the mission even sooner, before your gaze returns to you (before you having to rethink)." (Solomon dispatched the forces, and the mission was smoothly accomplished. The Queen's throne was brought to Jerusalem before she arrived and) he saw it set in his presence. He said, "This success is a blessing from my Lord, that He may try me whether I am grateful or ungrateful. Whoever is grateful is grateful for his own good, and whoever is ungrateful, should know that my Lord is Self-Sufficient, Supremely Honorable."
