| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [49:12] | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooijtaniboo katheeran mina alththanni innabaAAda alththanni ithmun walatajassasoo wala yaghtab baAAdukum baAAdanayuhibbu ahadukum an ya/kula lahma akheehimaytan fakarihtumoohu waittaqoo Allaha inna Allahatawwabun raheemun |  يا أيها الذين آمنوا اجتنبوا كثيرا من الظن إن بعض الظن إثم ولا تجسسوا ولا يغتب بعضكم بعضا أيحب أحدكم أن يأكل لحم أخيه ميتا فكرهتموه واتقوا الله إن الله تواب رحيميَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا يَغْتَب بَّعْضُكُم بَعْضًا أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن يَأْكُلَ لَحْمَ أَخِيهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوهُ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَوَّابٌ رَّحِيمٌ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اے ایمان والو! زیادہ تر گمانوں سے بچا کرو بیشک بعض گمان (ایسے) گناہ ہوتے ہیں (جن پر اُخروی سزا واجب ہوتی ہے) اور (کسی کے غیبوں اور رازوں کی) جستجو نہ کیا کرو اور نہ پیٹھ پیچھے ایک دوسرے کی برائی کیا کرو، کیا تم میں سے کوئی شخص پسند کرے گا کہ وہ اپنے مُردہ بھائی کا گوشت کھائے، سو تم اس سے نفرت کرتے ہو۔ اور (اِن تمام معاملات میں) اﷲ سے ڈرو بیشک اﷲ توبہ کو بہت قبول فرمانے والا بہت رحم فرمانے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | O ye who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, ye would abhor it...But fear Allah: For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

| Literal | You, you those who believed, avoid/distance yourselves from much of the doubt/suspicion , that truly some/part (of) the doubt/suspicion (is a) sin/crime, and do not spy/seek information (about others) and some of youdo not backbite some (each other). Does any of you love/like that (E) he eats his dead/lifeless brother's flesh ? So you hated it, and fear and obey God, that truly God (is) forgiving, merciful. | ||||||
