| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [6:25] | Waminhum man yastamiAAu ilayka wajaAAalnaAAala quloobihim akinnatan an yafqahoohu wafee athanihimwaqran wa-in yaraw kulla ayatin la yu/minoo bihahatta itha jaooka yujadiloonakayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena |  ومنهم من يستمع إليك وجعلنا على قلوبهم أكنة أن يفقهوه وفي آذانهم وقرا وإن يروا كل آية لا يؤمنوا بها حتى إذا جاءوك يجادلونك يقول الذين كفروا إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولينوَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا وَإِن يَرَوْاْ كُلَّ آيَةٍ لاَّ يُؤْمِنُواْ بِهَا حَتَّى إِذَا جَآؤُوكَ يُجَادِلُونَكَ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ إِنْ هَذَآ إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ان میں کچھ وہ (بھی) ہیں جو آپ کی طرف کان لگائے رہتے ہیں اور ہم نے ان کے دلوں پر(ان کی اپنی بدنیتی کے باعث) پردے ڈال دیئے ہیں (سو اب ان کے لئے ممکن نہیں) کہ وہ اس (قرآن) کو سمجھ سکیں اور (ہم نے) ان کے کانوں میں ڈاٹ دے دی ہے، اور اگر وہ تمام نشانیوں کو (کھلا بھی) دیکھ لیں تو (بھی) اس پر ایمان نہیں لائیں گے۔ حتیٰ کہ جب آپ کے پاس آتے ہیں، آپ سے جھگڑا کرتے ہیں (اس وقت) کافر لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ یہ (قرآن) پہلے لوگوں کی جھوٹی کہانیوں کے سوا (کچھ) نہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Of them there are some who (pretend to) listen to thee; but We have thrown veils on their hearts, So they understand it not, and deafness in their ears; if they saw every one of the signs, not they will believe in them; in so much that when they come to thee, they (but) dispute with thee; the Unbelievers say: "These are nothing but tales of the ancients."

[8:31] | Wa-itha tutla AAalayhim ayatunaqaloo qad samiAAna law nashao laqulnamithla hatha in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena | وإذا تتلى عليهم آياتنا قالوا قد سمعنا لو نشاء لقلنا مثل هذا إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولين وَإِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا قَالُواْ قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَـذَا إِنْ هَـذَا إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ان پر ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں (تو) وہ کہتے ہیں: بیشک ہم نے سن لیا اگر ہم چاہیں تو ہم بھی اس (کلام) کے مثل کہہ سکتے ہیں یہ تو اگلوں کی (خیالی) داستانوں کے سوا (کچھ بھی) نہیں ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients."

| 3. [16:24] | Wa-itha qeela lahum mathaanzala rabbukum qaloo asateeru al-awwaleena | وإذا قيل لهم ماذا أنزل ربكم قالوا أساطير الأولين وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَا أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُواْ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب اُن سے پوچھا جاتا ہے کہ تمہارے رب نے کیا نازل فرمایا ہے؟ (تو) وہ کہتے ہیں: اگلی قوموں کے جھوٹے قصے (اتارے ہیں) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When it is said to them, "What is it that your Lord has revealed?" they say, "Tales of the ancients!"

[17:58] | Wa-in min qaryatin illa nahnumuhlikooha qabla yawmi alqiyamati aw muAAaththiboohaAAathaban shadeedan kana thalika fee alkitabimastooran | وإن من قرية إلا نحن مهلكوها قبل يوم القيامة أو معذبوها عذابا شديدا كان ذلك في الكتاب مسطورا وَإِن مَّن قَرْيَةٍ إِلاَّ نَحْنُ مُهْلِكُوهَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُوهَا عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا كَانَ ذَلِك فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (کفر و سرکشی کرنے والوں کی) کوئی بستی ایسی نہیں مگر ہم اسے روزِ قیامت سے قبل ہی تباہ کر دیں گے یا اسے نہایت ہی سخت عذاب دیں گے، یہ (امر) کتاب (لوحِ محفوظ) میں لکھا ہوا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | There is not a population but We shall destroy it before the Day of Judgment or punish it with a dreadful Penalty: that is written in the (eternal) Record.

| 5. [23:83] | Laqad wuAAidna nahnu waabaonahatha min qablu in hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena | لقد وعدنا نحن وآباؤنا هذا من قبل إن هذا إلا أساطير الأولين لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم سے (بھی) اور ہمارے آباء و اجداد سے (بھی) پہلے یہی وعدہ کیا جاتا رہا (ہے)، یہ (باتیں) محض پہلے لوگوں کے افسانے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Such things have been promised to us and to our fathers before! they are nothing but tales of the ancients!"

| 6. [25:5] | Waqaloo asateeru al-awwaleenaiktatabaha fahiya tumla AAalayhi bukratan waaseelan | وقالوا أساطير الأولين اكتتبها فهي تملى عليه بكرة وأصيلا وَقَالُوا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ اكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِيَ تُمْلَى عَلَيْهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کہتے ہیں: (یہ قرآن) اگلوں کے افسانے ہیں جن کو اس شخص نے لکھوا رکھا ہے پھر وہ (افسانے) اسے صبح و شام پڑھ کر سنائے جاتے ہیں (تاکہ انہیں یاد کر کے آگے سنا سکے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And they say: "Tales of the ancients, which he has caused to be written: and they are dictated before him morning and evening."

| Tahir ul Qadri | درحقیقت اس کا وعدہ ہم سے (بھی) کیا گیا اور اس سے پہلے ہمارے باپ دادا سے (بھی)، یہ اگلے لوگوں کے من گھڑت افسانوں کے سوا کچھ نہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): these are nothing but tales of the ancients."

[33:6] | Alnnabiyyu awla bialmu/mineenamin anfusihim waazwajuhu ommahatuhum waoloo al-arhamibaAAduhum awla bibaAAdin fee kitabiAllahi mina almu/mineena waalmuhajireena illaan tafAAaloo ila awliya-ikum maAAroofan kanathalika fee alkitabi mastooran | النبي أولى بالمؤمنين من أنفسهم وأزواجه أمهاتهم وأولو الأرحام بعضهم أولى ببعض في كتاب الله من المؤمنين والمهاجرين إلا أن تفعلوا إلى أوليائكم معروفا كان ذلك في الكتاب مسطورا النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ وَأُوْلُواْ الْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَى بِبَعْضٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ إِلَّا أَن تَفْعَلُوا إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِكُم مَّعْرُوفًا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُورًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ نبیِ (مکرّم) مومنوں کے ساتھ اُن کی جانوں سے زیادہ قریب اور حق دار ہیں اور آپ کی اَزواجِ (مطہّرات) اُن کی مائیں ہیں، اور خونی رشتہ دار اللہ کی کتاب میں (دیگر) مومنین اور مہاجرین کی نسبت (تقسیمِ وراثت میں) ایک دوسرے کے زیادہ حق دار ہیں سوائے اس کے کہ تم اپنے دوستوں پر احسان کرنا چاہو، یہ حکم کتابِ (الٰہی) میں لکھا ہوا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers. Blood-relations among each other have closer personal ties, in the Decree of Allah. Than (the Brotherhood of) Believers and Muhajirs: nevertheless do ye what is just to your closest friends: such is the writing in the Decree (of Allah).

| Tahir ul Qadri | یا اُن کے پاس آپ کے رب کے خزانے ہیں یا وہ اُن پر نگران (اور) داروغے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)?

| Yousuf Ali | Every matter, small and great, is on record.

[46:17] | Waallathee qala liwalidayhioffin lakuma ataAAidaninee an okhraja waqad khalatialquroonu min qablee wahuma yastagheethani Allahawaylaka amin inna waAAda Allahi haqqunfayaqoolu ma hatha illa asateerual-awwaleena | والذي قال لوالديه أف لكما أتعدانني أن أخرج وقد خلت القرون من قبلي وهما يستغيثان الله ويلك آمن إن وعد الله حق فيقول ما هذا إلا أساطير الأولين وَالَّذِي قَالَ لِوَالِدَيْهِ أُفٍّ لَّكُمَا أَتَعِدَانِنِي أَنْ أُخْرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ الْقُرُونُ مِن قَبْلِي وَهُمَا يَسْتَغِيثَانِ اللَّهَ وَيْلَكَ آمِنْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس نے اپنے والدین سے کہا: تم سے بیزاری ہے، تم مجھے (یہ) وعدہ دیتے ہو کہ میں (قبر سے دوبارہ زندہ کر کے) نکالا جاؤں گا حالانکہ مجھ سے پہلے بہت سی امتیں گزر چکیں۔ اب وہ دونوں (ماں باپ) اللہ سے فریاد کرنے لگے (اور لڑکے سے کہا:) تو ہلاک ہوگا۔ (اے لڑکے!) ایمان لے آ، بیشک اللہ کا وعدہ حق ہے۔ تو وہ (جواب میں) کہتا ہے: یہ (باتیں) اگلے لوگوں کے جھوٹے افسانوں کے سوا (کچھ) نہیں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But (there is one) who says to his parents, "Fie on you! Do ye hold out the promise to me that I shall be raised up, even though generations have passed before me (without rising again)?" And they two seek Allah's aid, (and rebuke the son): "Woe to thee! Have faith! for the promise of Allah is true." But he says, "This is nothing but tales of the ancients!"
