| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |

[13:34] | Lahum AAathabun fee alhayatialddunya walaAAathabu al-akhiratiashaqqu wama lahum mina Allahi min waqin |  لهم عذاب في الحياة الدنيا ولعذاب الآخرة أشق وما لهم من الله من واقلَّهُمْ عَذَابٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَشَقُّ وَمَا لَهُم مِّنَ اللّهِ مِن وَاقٍ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | ان کے لئے دنیوی زندگی میں (بھی) عذاب ہے اور یقیناً آخرت کا عذاب زیادہ سخت ہے، اور انہیں اﷲ (کے عذاب) سے کوئی بچانے والا نہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For them is a penalty in the life of this world, but harder, truly, is the penalty of the Hereafter: and defender have they none against Allah.

[13:37] | Wakathalika anzalnahu hukmanAAarabiyyan wala-ini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda majaaka mina alAAilmi ma laka mina Allahi minwaliyyin wala waqin | وكذلك أنزلناه حكما عربيا ولئن اتبعت أهواءهم بعدما جاءك من العلم ما لك من الله من ولي ولا واق وَكَذَلِكَ أَنزَلْنَاهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُم بَعْدَ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلاَ وَاقٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اسی طرح ہم نے اس (قرآن) کو حکم بنا کر عربی زبان میں اتارا ہے، اور (اے سننے والے!) اگر تو نے ان (کافروں) کی خواہشات کی پیروی کی اس کے بعد کہ تیرے پاس (قطعی) علم آچکا ہے تو تیرے لئے اﷲ کے مقابلہ میں نہ کوئی مددگار ہوگا اور نہ کوئی محافظ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thus have We revealed it to be a judgment of authority in Arabic. Wert thou to follow their (vain) desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither protector nor defender against Allah.

[40:21] | Awa lam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fayanthurookayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena kanoomin qablihim kanoo hum ashadda minhum quwwatan waatharanfee al-ardi faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihimwama kana lahum mina Allahi min waqin | أولم يسيروا في الأرض فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين كانوا من قبلهم كانوا هم أشد منهم قوة وآثارا في الأرض فأخذهم الله بذنوبهم وما كان لهم من الله من واق أَوَ لَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَاقٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کیا یہ لوگ زمین میں چلے پھرے نہیں کہ دیکھ لیتے ان لوگوں کا انجام کیسا ہوا جو ان سے پہلے تھے، وہ لوگ قوّت میں (بھی) اِن سے بہت زیادہ تھے اور اُن آثار و نشانات میں (بھی) جو زمین میں (چھوڑ گئے) تھے۔ پھر اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں کی وجہ سے انہیں پکڑ لیا، اور ان کے لئے اللہ (کے عذاب) سے بچانے والا کوئی نہ تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were even superior to them in strength, and in the traces (they have left) in the land: but Allah did call them to account for their sins, and none had they to defend them against Allah.
