| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [10:36] | Wama yattabiAAu aktharuhum illathannan inna alththanna layughnee mina alhaqqi shay-an inna Allaha AAaleemunbima yafAAaloona |  وما يتبع أكثرهم إلا ظنا إن الظن لا يغني من الحق شيئا إن الله عليم بما يفعلونوَمَا يَتَّبِعُ أَكْثَرُهُمْ إِلاَّ ظَنًّا إِنَّ الظَّنَّ لاَ يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلَيمٌ بِمَا يَفْعَلُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | ان میں سے اکثر لوگ صرف گمان کی پیروی کرتے ہیں، بیشک گمان حق سے معمولی سا بھی بے نیاز نہیں کرسکتا، یقیناً اللہ خوب جانتا ہے جو کچھ وہ کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But most of them follow nothing but fancy: truly fancy can be of no avail against truth. Verily Allah is well aware of all that they do.

[12:68] | Walamma dakhaloo min haythuamarahum aboohum ma kana yughnee AAanhum mina Allahimin shay-in illa hajatan fee nafsi yaAAqooba qadahawa-innahu lathoo AAilmin lima AAallamnahuwalakinna akthara alnnasi layaAAlamoona | ولما دخلوا من حيث أمرهم أبوهم ما كان يغني عنهم من الله من شيء إلا حاجة في نفس يعقوب قضاها وإنه لذو علم لما علمناه ولكن أكثر الناس لا يعلمون وَلَمَّا دَخَلُواْ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَهُمْ أَبُوهُم مَّا كَانَ يُغْنِي عَنْهُم مِّنَ اللّهِ مِن شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ حَاجَةً فِي نَفْسِ يَعْقُوبَ قَضَاهَا وَإِنَّهُ لَذُو عِلْمٍ لِّمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب وہ (مصر میں) داخل ہوئے جس طرح ان کے باپ نے انہیں حکم دیا تھا، وہ (حکم) انہیں اﷲ (کی تقدیر) سے کچھ نہیں بچا سکتا تھا مگر یہ یعقوب (علیہ السلام) کے دل کی ایک خواہش تھی جسے اس نے پورا کیا، اور (اس خواہش و تدبیر کو لغو بھی نہ سمجھنا، تمہیں کیا خبر!) بیشک یعقوب (علیہ السلام) صاحبِ علم تھے اس وجہ سے کہ ہم نے انہیں علمِ (خاص) سے نوازا تھا مگر اکثر لوگ (ان حقیقتوں کو) نہیں جانتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And when they entered in the manner their father had enjoined, it did not profit them in the least against (the plan of) Allah: It was but a necessity of Jacob's soul, which he discharged. For he was, by our instruction, full of knowledge (and experience): but most men know not.

| 3. [19:42] | Ith qala li-abeehi yaabati lima taAAbudu ma la yasmaAAu wala yubsiruwala yughnee AAanka shay-an | إذ قال لأبيه يا أبت لم تعبد ما لا يسمع ولا يبصر ولا يغني عنك شيئا إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لاَ يَسْمَعُ وَلاَ يُبْصِرُ وَلاَ يُغْنِي عَنكَ شَيْئًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب انہوں نے اپنے باپ (یعنی چچا آزر سے جس نے آپ کے والد تارخ کے انتقال کے بعد آپ کو پالا تھا) سے کہا: اے میرے باپ! تم ان (بتوں) کی پرستش کیوں کرتے ہو جو نہ سن سکتے ہیں اور نہ دیکھ سکتے ہیں اور نہ تم سے کوئی (تکلیف دہ) چیز دور کرسکتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold, he said to his father: "O my father! why worship that which heareth not and seeth not, and can profit thee nothing?

| 4. [44:41] | Yawma la yughnee mawlan AAan mawlanshay-an wala hum yunsaroona | يوم لا يغني مولى عن مولى شيئا ولا هم ينصرون يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جس دن کوئی دوست کسی دوست کے کچھ کام نہ آئے گا اور نہ ہی اُن کی مدد کی جائے گی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive,

[45:10] | Min wara-ihim jahannamu walayughnee AAanhum ma kasaboo shay-an wala maittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa walahumAAathabun AAatheemun | من ورائهم جهنم ولا يغني عنهم ما كسبوا شيئا ولا ما اتخذوا من دون الله أولياء ولهم عذاب عظيم مِن وَرَائِهِمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُم مَّا كَسَبُوا شَيْئًا وَلَا مَا اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اُن کے (اس عرصۂ حیات کے) بعد دوزخ ہے اور جو (مالِ دنیا) انہوں نے کما رکھا ہے اُن کے کچھ کام نہیں آئے گا اور نہ وہ بت (ہی کام آئیں گے) جنہیں اللہ کے سوا انہوں نے کارساز بنا رکھا ہے، اور اُن کے لئے بہت سخت عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | In front of them is Hell: and of no profit to them is anything they may have earned, nor any protectors they may have taken to themselves besides Allah: for them is a tremendous Penalty.

| 6. [52:46] | Yawma la yughnee AAanhum kayduhumshay-an wala hum yunsaroona | يوم لا يغني عنهم كيدهم شيئا ولا هم ينصرون يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جس دِن نہ اُن کا مکر و فریب ان کے کچھ کام آئے گا اور نہ ہی اُن کی مدد کی جائے گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them.

[53:28] | Wama lahum bihi min AAilmin inyattabiAAoona illa alththanna wa-innaalththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqishay-an | وما لهم به من علم إن يتبعون إلا الظن وإن الظن لا يغني من الحق شيئا وَمَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور انہیں اِس کا کچھ بھی علم نہیں ہے، وہ صرف گمان کے پیچھے چلتے ہیں، اور بیشک گمان یقین کے مقابلے میں کسی کام نہیں آتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth.

| 8. [77:31] | La thaleelin walayughnee mina allahabi | لا ظليل ولا يغني من اللهب لاَّ ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو نہ (تو) ٹھنڈا سایہ ہے اور نہ ہی آگ کی تپش سے بچانے والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze.

| 9. [88:7] | La yusminu wala yughnee minjooAAin | لا يسمن ولا يغني من جوع لاَّ يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِن جُوعٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (یہ کھانا) نہ فربہ کرے گا اور نہ بھوک ہی دور کرے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger.

| 10. [92:11] | Wama yughnee AAanhu maluhu ithataradda | وما يغني عنه ماله إذا تردى وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس کا مال اس کے کسی کام نہیں آئے گا جب وہ ہلاکت (کے گڑھے) میں گرے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit).
