[2:118] | Waqala allatheena layaAAlamoona lawla yukallimuna Allahu awta/teena ayatun kathalika qala allatheenamin qablihim mithla qawlihim tashabahat quloobuhum qadbayyanna al-ayati liqawmin yooqinoona |  وقال الذين لا يعلمون لولا يكلمنا الله أو تأتينا آية كذلك قال الذين من قبلهم مثل قولهم تشابهت قلوبهم قد بينا الآيات لقوم يوقنونوَقَالَ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ لَوْلاَ يُكَلِّمُنَا اللّهُ أَوْ تَأْتِينَا آيَةٌ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ تَشَابَهَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا الآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ علم نہیں رکھتے کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ ہم سے کلام کیوں نہیں فرماتا یا ہمارے پاس (براہِ راست) کوئی نشانی کیوں نہیں آتی؟ اسی طرح ان سے پہلے لوگوں نے بھی انہی جیسی بات کہی تھی، ان (سب) لوگوں کے دل آپس میں ایک جیسے ہیں، بیشک ہم نے یقین والوں کے لئے نشانیاں خوب واضح کر دی ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say those without knowledge: "Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or why cometh not unto us a Sign?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike. We have indeed made clear the Signs unto any people who hold firmly to Faith (in their hearts).
