| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [7:4] | Wakam min qaryatin ahlaknahafajaaha ba/suna bayatan aw hum qa-iloona |  وكم من قرية أهلكناها فجاءها بأسنا بياتا أو هم قائلونوَكَم مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا فَجَاءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَآئِلُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کتنی ہی بستیاں (ایسی) ہیں جنہیں ہم نے ہلاک کر ڈالا سو ان پر ہمارا عذاب رات کے وقت آیا یا (جبکہ) وہ دوپہر کو سو رہے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest.

| Tahir ul Qadri | ان سے پہلے ہم نے جس بھی بستی کو ہلاک کیا وہ (انہی نشانیوں پر) ایمان نہیں لائی تھی، تو کیا یہ ایمان لے آئیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe?

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس بستی کو ہم نے ہلاک کر ڈالا ناممکن ہے کہ اس کے لوگ (مرنے کے بعد) ہماری طرف پلٹ کر نہ آئیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But there is a ban on any population which We have destroyed: that they shall not return,

[22:45] | Fakaayyin min qaryatin ahlaknahawahiya thalimatun fahiya khawiyatunAAala AAurooshiha wabi/rin muAAattalatinwaqasrin masheedin | فكأين من قرية أهلكناها وهي ظالمة فهي خاوية على عروشها وبئر معطلة وقصر مشيد فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَى عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئْرٍ مُّعَطَّلَةٍ وَقَصْرٍ مَّشِيدٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر کتنی ہی (ایسی) بستیاں ہیں جنہیں ہم نے ہلاک کر ڈالا اس حال میں کہ وہ ظالم تھیں پس وہ اپنی چھتوں پر گری پڑی ہیں اور (ان کی ہلاکت سے) کتنے کنویں بے کار (ہوگئے) اور کتنے مضبوط محل اجڑے پڑے (ہیں) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | How many populations have We destroyed, which were given to wrong-doing? They tumbled down on their roofs. And how many wells are lying idle and neglected, and castles lofty and well-built?
