| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [28:61] | Afaman waAAadnahu waAAdan hasananfahuwa laqeehi kaman mattaAAnahu mataAAa alhayatialddunya thumma huwa yawma alqiyamati minaalmuhdareena |  أفمن وعدناه وعدا حسنا فهو لاقيه كمن متعناه متاع الحياة الدنيا ثم هو يوم القيامة من المحضرينأَفَمَن وَعَدْنَاهُ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ لَاقِيهِ كَمَن مَّتَّعْنَاهُ مَتَاعَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا وہ شخص جس سے ہم نے کوئی (آخرت کا) اچھا وعدہ فرمایا ہو پھر وہ اسے پانے والا ہو جائے، اس (بدنصیب) کی مثل ہو سکتا ہے جسے ہم نے دنیوی زندگی کے سامان سے نوازا ہو پھر وہ (کفرانِ نعمت کے باعث) روزِ قیامت (عذاب کے لئے) حاضر کئے جانے والوں میں سے ہو جائے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Are (these two) alike?- one to whom We have made a goodly promise, and who is going to reach its (fulfilment), and one to whom We have given the good things of this life, but who, on the Day of Judgment, is to be among those brought up (for punishment)?

| 2. [28:62] | Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu aynashuraka-iya allatheena kuntum tazAAumoona | ويوم يناديهم فيقول أين شركائي الذين كنتم تزعمون وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس دن (اللہ) انہیں پکارے گا تو فرمائے گا کہ میرے وہ شریک کہاں ہیں جنہیں تم (معبود) خیال کیا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That Day (Allah) will call to them, and say "Where are my 'partners'?- whom ye imagined (to be such)?"

[28:64] | Waqeela odAAoo shurakaakumfadaAAawhum falam yastajeeboo lahum waraawoo alAAathabalaw annahum kanoo yahtadoona | وقيل ادعوا شركاءكم فدعوهم فلم يستجيبوا لهم ورأوا العذاب لو أنهم كانوا يهتدون وَقِيلَ ادْعُوا شُرَكَاءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُمْ وَرَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ لَوْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَهْتَدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (ان سے) کہا جائے گا: تم اپنے (خود ساختہ) شریکوں کو بلاؤ، سو وہ انہیں پکاریں گے پس وہ (شریک) انہیں کوئی جواب نہ دیں گے اور وہ لوگ عذاب کو دیکھ لیں گے، کاش! وہ (دنیا میں) راہِ ہدایت پا چکے ہوتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It will be said (to them): "Call upon your 'partners' (for help)" :they will call upon them, but they will not listen to them; and they will see the Penalty (before them); (how they will wish) 'if only they had been open to guidance!'

| Words | |وقيل - And it will be said,| ادعوا - "Call| شركاءكم - your partners."| فدعوهم - And they will call them,| فلم - but not| يستجيبوا - they will respond| لهم - to them| ورأوا - and they will see| العذاب - the punishment.| لو - If only| أنهم - [that] they| كانوا - had been| يهتدون - guided!| | ||||||

[28:63] | Qala allatheena haqqaAAalayhimu alqawlu rabbana haola-i allatheenaaghwayna aghwaynahum kama ghawaynatabarra/na ilayka ma kanoo iyyanayaAAbudoona | قال الذين حق عليهم القول ربنا هؤلاء الذين أغوينا أغويناهم كما غوينا تبرأنا إليك ما كانوا إيانا يعبدون قَالَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ رَبَّنَا هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ أَغْوَيْنَا أَغْوَيْنَاهُمْ كَمَا غَوَيْنَا تَبَرَّأْنَا إِلَيْكَ مَا كَانُوا إِيَّانَا يَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ لوگ جن پر (عذاب کا) فرمان ثابت ہو چکا کہیں گے: اے ہمارے رب! یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کو ہم نے گمراہ کیا تھا ہم نے انہیں (اسی طرح) گمراہ کیا تھا جس طرح ہم (خود) گمراہ ہوئے تھے، ہم ان سے بیزاری ظاہر کرتے ہوئے تیری طرف متوجہ ہوتے ہیں اور وہ (درحقیقت) ہماری پرستش نہیں کرتے تھے (بلکہ اپنی نفسانی خواہشات کے پجاری تھے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those against whom the charge will be proved, will say: "Our Lord! These are the ones whom we led astray: we led them astray, as we were astray ourselves: we free ourselves (from them) in Thy presence: it was not us they worshipped."

| 5. [28:65] | Wayawma yunadeehim fayaqoolu mathaajabtumu almursaleena | ويوم يناديهم فيقول ماذا أجبتم المرسلين وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَا أَجَبْتُمُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس دن (اللہ) انہیں پکارے گا تو وہ فرمائے گا: تم نے پیغمبروں کو کیا جواب دیا تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That Day (Allah) will call to them, and say: "What was the answer ye gave to the messengers?"

| Words | |ويوم - And (the) Day| يناديهم - He will call them| فيقول - and say,| ماذا - "What| أجبتم - did you answer| المرسلين - the Messengers?"| | ||||||
| 6. [28:66] | FaAAamiyat AAalayhimu al-anbaoyawma-ithin fahum la yatasaaloona | فعميت عليهم الأنباء يومئذ فهم لا يتساءلون فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَنبَاءُ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَهُمْ لَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو ان پر اس دن خبریں پوشیدہ ہو جائیں گی سو وہ ایک دوسرے سے پوچھ (بھی) نہ سکیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then the (whole) story that Day will seem obscure to them (like light to the blind) and they will not be able (even) to question each other.

| 7. [28:67] | Faamma man taba waamanawaAAamila salihan faAAasa an yakoona minaalmufliheena | فأما من تاب وآمن وعمل صالحا فعسى أن يكون من المفلحين فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَعَسَى أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | لیکن جس نے توبہ کر لی اور ایمان لے آیا اور نیک عمل کیا تو یقیناً وہ فلاح پانے والوں میں سے ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But any that (in this life) had repented, believed, and worked righteousness, will have hopes to be among those who achieve salvation.

| Words | |فأما - But as for| من - (him) who| تاب - repented| وآمن - and believed,| وعمل - and did| صالحا - righteousness,| فعسى - then perhaps| أن - [that]| يكون - he will be| من - of| المفلحين - the successful ones.| | ||||||

[28:68] | Warabbuka yakhluqu ma yashaowayakhtaru ma kana lahumu alkhiyaratu subhanaAllahi wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona | وربك يخلق ما يشاء ويختار ما كان لهم الخيرة سبحان الله وتعالى عما يشركون وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيَخْتَارُ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَتَعَالَى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ کا رب جو چاہتا ہے پیدا فرماتا ہے اور (جسے چاہتا ہے نبوت اور حقِ شفاعت سے نوازنے کے لئے) منتخب فرما لیتا ہے، ان (منکر اور مشرک) لوگوں کو (اس امر میں) کوئی مرضی اور اختیار حاصل نہیں ہے۔ اللہ پاک ہے اور بالاتر ہے ان (باطل معبودوں) سے جنہیں وہ (اللہ کا) شریک گردانتے ہیں۔ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thy Lord does create and choose as He pleases: no choice have they (in the matter): Glory to Allah! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)!

| 9. [28:69] | Warabbuka yaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhumwama yuAAlinoona | وربك يعلم ما تكن صدورهم وما يعلنون وَرَبُّكَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ کا رب ان (تمام باتوں) کو جانتا ہے جو ان کے سینے (اپنے اندر) چھپائے ہوئے ہیں اور جو کچھ وہ آشکار کرتے ہیں۔ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And thy Lord knows all that their hearts conceal and all that they reveal.

| Words | |وربك - And your Lord| يعلم - knows| ما - what| تكن - conceals| صدورهم - their breasts| وما - and what| يعلنون - they declare.| | ||||||

[28:70] | Wahuwa Allahu la ilahailla huwa lahu alhamdu fee al-oola waal-akhiratiwalahu alhukmu wa-ilayhi turjaAAoona | وهو الله لا إله إلا هو له الحمد في الأولى والآخرة وله الحكم وإليه ترجعون وَهُوَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْأُولَى وَالْآخِرَةِ وَلَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہی اللہ ہے اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ دنیا اور آخرت میں ساری تعریفیں اسی کے لئے ہیں، اور (حقیقی) حکم و فرمانروائی (بھی) اسی کی ہے اور تم اسی کی طرف لوٹائے جاؤ گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And He is Allah: There is no god but He. To Him be praise, at the first and at the last: for Him is the Command, and to Him shall ye (all) be brought back.

[28:73] | Wamin rahmatihi jaAAala lakumuallayla waalnnahara litaskunoo feehi walitabtaghoomin fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona | ومن رحمته جعل لكم الليل والنهار لتسكنوا فيه ولتبتغوا من فضله ولعلكم تشكرون وَمِن رَّحْمَتِهِ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اس نے اپنی رحمت سے تمہارے لئے رات اور دن کو بنایا تاکہ تم رات میں آرام کرو اور (دن میں) اس کا فضل (روزی) تلاش کرسکو اور تاکہ تم شکر گزار بنو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is out of His Mercy that He has made for you Night and Day,- that ye may rest therein, and that ye may seek of his Grace;- and in order that ye may be grateful.

[28:71] | Qul araaytum in jaAAala AllahuAAalaykumu allayla sarmadan ila yawmi alqiyamatiman ilahun ghayru Allahi ya/teekum bidiya-inafala tasmaAAoona | قل أرأيتم إن جعل الله عليكم الليل سرمدا إلى يوم القيامة من إله غير الله يأتيكم بضياء أفلا تسمعون قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ اللَّيْلَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِضِيَاءٍ أَفَلَا تَسْمَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | فرما دیجئے: ذرا اتنا بتاؤ کہ اگر اللہ تمہارے اوپر روزِ قیامت تک ہمیشہ رات طاری فرما دے (تو) اللہ کے سوا کون معبود ہے جو تمہیں روشنی لا دے۔ کیا تم (یہ باتیں) سنتے نہیں ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say: See ye? If Allah were to make the night perpetual over you to the Day of Judgment, what god is there other than Allah, who can give you enlightenment? Will ye not then hearken?

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس دن وہ انہیں پکارے گا تو ارشاد فرمائے گا کہ میرے وہ شریک کہاں ہیں جنہیں تم (معبود) خیال کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The Day that He will call on them, He will say: "Where are my 'partners'? whom ye imagined (to be such)?"

[28:72] | Qul araaytum in jaAAala AllahuAAalaykumu alnnahara sarmadan ila yawmialqiyamati man ilahun ghayru Allahiya/teekum bilaylin taskunoona feehi afala tubsiroona | قل أرأيتم إن جعل الله عليكم النهار سرمدا إلى يوم القيامة من إله غير الله يأتيكم بليل تسكنون فيه أفلا تبصرون قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ النَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | فرما دیجئے: ذرا یہ (بھی) بتاؤ کہ اگر اللہ تمہارے اوپر روزِ قیامت تک ہمیشہ دن طاری فرما دے (تو) اللہ کے سوا کون معبود ہے جو تمہیں رات لا دے کہ تم اس میں آرام کر سکو، کیا تم دیکھتے نہیں ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Say: See ye? If Allah were to make the day perpetual over you to the Day of Judgment, what god is there other than Allah, who can give you a night in which ye can rest? Will ye not then see?

[28:75] | WanazaAAna min kulli ommatinshaheedan faqulna hatoo burhanakumfaAAalimoo anna alhaqqa lillahi wadallaAAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona | ونزعنا من كل أمة شهيدا فقلنا هاتوا برهانكم فعلموا أن الحق لله وضل عنهم ما كانوا يفترون وَنَزَعْنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا فَقُلْنَا هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ فَعَلِمُوا أَنَّ الْحَقَّ لِلَّهِ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم ہر امت سے ایک گواہ نکالیں گے پھر ہم (کفار سے) کہیں گے کہ تم اپنی دلیل لاؤ تو وہ جان لیں گے کہ سچ بات اللہ ہی کی ہے اور ان سے وہ سب (باتیں) جاتی رہیں گی جو وہ جھوٹ باندھا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And from each people shall We draw a witness, and We shall say: "Produce your Proof": then shall they know that the Truth is in Allah (alone), and the (lies) which they invented will leave them in lurch.

| Words | |ونزعنا - And We will draw forth| من - from| كل - every| أمة - nation| شهيدا - a witness| فقلنا - and We will say,| هاتوا - "Bring| برهانكم - your proof?"| فعلموا - Then they will know| أن - that| الحق - the truth| لله - (is) for Allah| وضل - and (will be) lost| عنهم - from them| ما - what| كانوا - they used (to)| يفترون - invent.| | ||||||
| 16. [28:76] | Inna qaroona kana min qawmimoosa fabagha AAalayhim waataynahumina alkunoozi ma inna mafatihahu latanoo-obialAAusbati olee alquwwati ith qalalahu qawmuhu la tafrah inna Allaha layuhibbu alfariheena | إن قارون كان من قوم موسى فبغى عليهم وآتيناه من الكنوز ما إن مفاتحه لتنوء بالعصبة أولي القوة إذ قال له قومه لا تفرح إن الله لا يحب الفرحين إِنَّ قَارُونَ كَانَ مِن قَوْمِ مُوسَى فَبَغَى عَلَيْهِمْ وَآتَيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْكُنُوزِ مَا إِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهُ لَتَنُوءُ بِالْعُصْبَةِ أُولِي الْقُوَّةِ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُ قَوْمُهُ لَا تَفْرَحْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَرِحِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک قارون موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کی قوم سے تھا پھر اس نے لوگوں پر سرکشی کی اور ہم نے اسے اس قدر خزانے عطا کئے تھے کہ اس کی کنجیاں (اٹھانا) ایک بڑی طاقتور جماعت کو دشوار ہوتا تھا، جبکہ اس کی قوم نے اس سے کہا: تُو (خوشی کے مارے) غُرور نہ کر بیشک اللہ اِترانے والوں کو پسند نہیں فرماتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Qarun was doubtless, of the people of Moses; but he acted insolently towards them: such were the treasures We had bestowed on him that their very keys would have been a burden to a body of strong men, behold, his people said to him: "Exult not, for Allah loveth not those who exult (in riches).

[28:77] | Waibtaghi feema atakaAllahu alddara al-akhirata walatansa naseebaka mina alddunya waahsinkama ahsana Allahu ilayka wala tabghialfasada fee al-ardi inna Allaha layuhibbu almufsideena | وابتغ فيما آتاك الله الدار الآخرة ولا تنس نصيبك من الدنيا وأحسن كما أحسن الله إليك ولا تبغ الفساد في الأرض إن الله لا يحب المفسدين وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَأَحْسِن كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ وَلَا تَبْغِ الْفَسَادَ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تو اس (دولت) میں سے جو اللہ نے تجھے دے رکھی ہے آخرت کا گھر طلب کر، اور دنیا سے (بھی) اپنا حصہ نہ بھول اور تو (لوگوں سے ویسا ہی) احسان کر جیسا احسان اللہ نے تجھ سے فرمایا ہے اور ملک میں (ظلم، ارتکاز اور استحصال کی صورت میں) فساد انگیزی (کی راہیں) تلاش نہ کر، بیشک اللہ فساد بپا کرنے والوں کو پسند نہیں فرماتا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "But seek, with the (wealth) which Allah has bestowed on thee, the Home of the Hereafter, nor forget thy portion in this world: but do thou good, as Allah has been good to thee, and seek not (occasions for) mischief in the land: for Allah loves not those who do mischief."

[28:80] | Waqala allatheena ootooalAAilma waylakum thawabu Allahi khayrun liman amanawaAAamila salihan wala yulaqqahailla alssabiroona | وقال الذين أوتوا العلم ويلكم ثواب الله خير لمن آمن وعمل صالحا ولا يلقاها إلا الصابرون وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَلَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (دوسری طرف) وہ لوگ جنہیں علمِ (حق) دیا گیا تھا بول اٹھے: تم پر افسوس ہے اللہ کا ثواب اس شخص کے لئے (اس دولت و زینت سے کہیں زیادہ) بہتر ہے جو ایمان لایا ہو اور نیک عمل کرتا ہو، مگر یہ (اجر و ثواب) صبر کرنے والوں کے سوا کسی کو عطا نہیں کیا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But those who had been granted (true) knowledge said: "Alas for you! The reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is best for those who believe and work righteousness: but this none shall attain, save those who steadfastly persevere (in good)."

[28:78] | Qala innama ooteetuhu AAalaAAilmin AAindee awa lam yaAAlam anna Allaha qad ahlaka minqablihi mina alqurooni man huwa ashaddu minhu quwwatan waaktharujamAAan wala yus-alu AAan thunoobihimu almujrimoona | قال إنما أوتيته على علم عندي أولم يعلم أن الله قد أهلك من قبله من القرون من هو أشد منه قوة وأكثر جمعا ولا يسأل عن ذنوبهم المجرمون قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَى عِلْمٍ عِندِي أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِن قَبْلِهِ مِنَ القُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا وَلَا يُسْأَلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہ کہنے لگا: (میں یہ مال معاشرے اور عوام پر کیوں خرچ کروں) مجھے تویہ مال صرف اس (کسبی) علم و ہنر کی بنا پر دیا گیا ہے جو میرے پاس ہے۔ کیا اسے یہ معلوم نہ تھا کہ اللہ نے واقعۃً اس سے پہلے بہت سی ایسی قوموں کو ہلاک کر دیا تھا جو طاقت میں اس سے کہیں زیادہ سخت تھیں اور (مال و دولت اور افرادی قوت کے) جمع کرنے میں کہیں زیادہ (آگے) تھیں، اور (بوقتِ ہلاکت) مجرموں سے ان کے گناہوں کے بارے میں (مزید تحقیق یا کوئی عذر اور سبب) نہیں پوچھا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge which I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed, before him, (whole) generations,- which were superior to him in strength and greater in the amount (of riches) they had collected? but the wicked are not called (immediately) to account for their sins.

[28:79] | Fakharaja AAala qawmihi fee zeenatihiqala allatheena yureedoona alhayata alddunyaya layta lana mithla ma ootiya qaroonuinnahu lathoo haththin AAatheemin | فخرج على قومه في زينته قال الذين يريدون الحياة الدنيا يا ليت لنا مثل ما أوتي قارون إنه لذو حظ عظيم فَخَرَجَ عَلَى قَوْمِهِ فِي زِينَتِهِ قَالَ الَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنيَا يَا لَيْتَ لَنَا مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ قَارُونُ إِنَّهُ لَذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر وہ اپنی قوم کے سامنے (پوری) زینت و آرائش (کی حالت) میں نکلا۔ (اس کی ظاہری شان و شوکت کو دیکھ کر) وہ لوگ بول اٹھے جو دنیوی زندگی کے خواہش مند تھے: کاش! ہمارے لئے (بھی) ایسا (مال و متاع) ہوتا جیسا قارون کو دیا گیا ہے، بیشک وہ بڑے نصیب والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So he went forth among his people in the (pride of his wordly) glitter. Said those whose aim is the Life of this World: "Oh! that we had the like of what Qarun has got! for he is truly a lord of mighty good fortune!"

[28:81] | Fakhasafna bihi wabidarihial-arda fama kana lahu min fi-atin yansuroonahumin dooni Allahi wama kana mina almuntasireena | فخسفنا به وبداره الأرض فما كان له من فئة ينصرونه من دون الله وما كان من المنتصرين فَخَسَفْنَا بِهِ وَبِدَارِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُ مِن فِئَةٍ يَنصُرُونَهُ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُنتَصِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھرہم نے اس (قارون) کو اور اس کے گھر کو زمین میں دھنسا دیا، سو اللہ کے سوا اس کے لئے کوئی بھی جماعت (ایسی) نہ تھی جو (عذاب سے بچانے میں) اس کی مدد کرسکتی اور نہ وہ خود ہی عذاب کو روک سکا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then We caused the earth to swallow up him and his house; and he had not (the least little) party to help him against Allah, nor could he defend himself.

[28:82] | Waasbaha allatheenatamannaw makanahu bial-amsi yaqooloona waykaannaAllaha yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashaomin AAibadihi wayaqdiru lawla an manna AllahuAAalayna lakhasafa bina waykaannahu la yuflihualkafiroona | وأصبح الذين تمنوا مكانه بالأمس يقولون ويكأن الله يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء من عباده ويقدر لولا أن من الله علينا لخسف بنا ويكأنه لا يفلح الكافرون وَأَصْبَحَ الَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا مَكَانَهُ بِالْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَقْدِرُ لَوْلَا أَن مَّنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا وَيْكَأَنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جو لوگ کل اس کے مقام و مرتبہ کی تمنا کر رہے تھے (اَز رہِ ندامت) کہنے لگے: کتنا عجیب ہے کہ اللہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جس کے لئے چاہتا ہے رزق کشادہ فرماتا اور (جس کے لئے چاہتا ہے) تنگ فرماتا ہے، اگر اللہ نے ہم پر احسان نہ فرمایا ہوتا تو ہمیں (بھی) دھنسا دیتا، ہائے تعجب ہے! (اب معلوم ہوا) کہ کافر نجات نہیں پا سکتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And those who had envied his position the day before began to say on the morrow: "Ah! it is indeed Allah Who enlarges the provision or restricts it, to any of His servants He pleases! had it not been that Allah was gracious to us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us up! Ah! those who reject Allah will assuredly never prosper."

[28:83] | Tilka alddaru al-akhiratunajAAaluha lillatheena la yureedoonaAAuluwwan fee al-ardi wala fasadan waalAAaqibatulilmuttaqeena | تلك الدار الآخرة نجعلها للذين لا يريدون علوا في الأرض ولا فسادا والعاقبة للمتقين تِلْكَ الدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ نَجْعَلُهَا لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُرِيدُونَ عُلُوًّا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فَسَادًا وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (یہ) وہ آخرت کا گھر ہے جسے ہم نے ایسے لوگوں کے لئے بنایا ہے جو نہ (تو) زمین میں سرکشی و تکبر چاہتے ہیں اور نہ فساد انگیزی، اور نیک انجام پرہیزگاروں کے لئے ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That Home of the Hereafter We shall give to those who intend not high-handedness or mischief on earth: and the end is (best) for the righteous.

[28:84] | Man jaa bialhasanatifalahu khayrun minha waman jaa bialssayyi-atifala yujza allatheena AAamiloo alssayyi-atiilla ma kanoo yaAAmaloona | من جاء بالحسنة فله خير منها ومن جاء بالسيئة فلا يجزى الذين عملوا السيئات إلا ما كانوا يعملون مَن جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهَا وَمَن جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَى الَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جو شخص نیکی لے کر آئے گا اس کے لئے اس سے بہتر (صلہ) ہے اور جو شخص برائی لے کر آئے گا تو برے کام کرنے والوں کو کوئی بدلہ نہیں دیا جائے گا مگر اسی قدر جو وہ کرتے رہے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | If any does good, the reward to him is better than his deed; but if any does evil, the doers of evil are only punished (to the extent) of their deeds.

[28:86] | Wama kunta tarjoo an yulqailayka alkitabu illa rahmatan min rabbikafala takoonanna thaheeran lilkafireena | وما كنت ترجو أن يلقى إليك الكتاب إلا رحمة من ربك فلا تكونن ظهيرا للكافرين وَمَا كُنتَ تَرْجُواْ أَن يُلْقَى إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابُ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْكَافِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم (حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی وساطت سے اُمتِ محمدی کو خطاب ہے) اس بات کی امید نہ رکھتے تھے کہ تم پر (یہ) کتاب اتاری جائے گی مگر (یہ) تمہارے رب کی رحمت (سے اتری) ہے، پس تم ہرگز کافروں کے مددگار نہ بننا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And thou hadst not expected that the Book would be sent to thee except as a Mercy from thy Lord: Therefore lend not thou support in any way to those who reject (Allah's Message).

[28:85] | Inna allathee farada AAalaykaalqur-ana laradduka ila maAAadin qulrabbee aAAlamu man jaa bialhuda waman huwafee dalalin mubeenin | إن الذي فرض عليك القرآن لرادك إلى معاد قل ربي أعلم من جاء بالهدى ومن هو في ضلال مبين إِنَّ الَّذِي فَرَضَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لَرَادُّكَ إِلَى مَعَادٍ قُل رَّبِّي أَعْلَمُ مَن جَاءَ بِالْهُدَى وَمَنْ هُوَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک جس (رب) نے آپ پر قرآن (کی تبلیغ و اقامت کو) فرض کیا ہے یقیناً وہ آپ کو (آپ کی چاہت کے مطابق) لوٹنے کی جگہ (مکہ یا آخرت) کی طرف (فتح و کامیابی کے ساتھ) واپس لے جانے والا ہے۔ فرما دیجئے: میرا رب اسے خوب جانتا ہے جو ہدایت لے کر آیا اور اسے (بھی) جو صریح گمراہی میں ہے۔٭ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily He Who ordained the Qur'an for thee, will bring thee back to the Place of Return. Say: "My Lord knows best who it is that brings true guidance, and who is in manifest error."

[28:87] | Wala yasuddunnaka AAan ayatiAllahi baAAda ith onzilat ilayka waodAAu ilarabbika wala takoonanna mina almushrikeena | ولا يصدنك عن آيات الله بعد إذ أنزلت إليك وادع إلى ربك ولا تكونن من المشركين وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أُنزِلَتْ إِلَيْكَ وَادْعُ إِلَى رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ (کفار) تمہیں ہرگز اللہ کی آیتوں (کی تعمیل و تبلیغ) سے باز نہ رکھیں اس کے بعد کہ وہ تمہاری طرف اتاری جا چکی ہیں اور تم (لوگوں کو) اپنے رب کی طرف بلاتے رہو اور مشرکوں میں سے ہرگز نہ ہونا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And let nothing keep thee back from the Signs of Allah after they have been revealed to thee: and invite (men) to thy Lord, and be not of the company of those who join gods with Allah.

[28:88] | Wala tadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahanakhara la ilaha illa huwa kullushay-in halikun illa wajhahu lahu alhukmuwa-ilayhi turjaAAoona | ولا تدع مع الله إلها آخر لا إله إلا هو كل شيء هالك إلا وجهه له الحكم وإليه ترجعون وَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجْهَهُ لَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور تم اللہ کے ساتھ کسی دوسرے (خود ساختہ) معبود کو نہ پوجا کرو، اس کے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں، اس کی ذات کے سوا ہر چیز فانی ہے، حکم اسی کا ہے اور تم (سب) اسی کی طرف لوٹائے جاؤ گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And call not, besides Allah, on another god. There is no god but He. Everything (that exists) will perish except His own Face. To Him belongs the Command, and to Him will ye (all) be brought back.
