| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [16:61] | Walaw yu-akhithu Allahualnnasa bithulmihim ma tarakaAAalayha min dabbatin walakin yu-akhkhiruhumila ajalin musamman fa-itha jaa ajaluhum layasta/khiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona |  ولو يؤاخذ الله الناس بظلمهم ما ترك عليها من دابة ولكن يؤخرهم إلى أجل مسمى فإذا جاء أجلهم لا يستأخرون ساعة ولا يستقدمونوَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللّهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَلَكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لاَ يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلاَ يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اگر اللہ لوگوں کو ان کے ظلم کے عوض (فوراً) پکڑ لیا کرتا تو اس (زمین) پر کسی جاندار کو نہ چھوڑتا لیکن وہ انہیں مقررہ میعاد تک مہلت دیتا ہے، پھر جب ان کا مقرر وقت آپہنچتا ہے تو وہ نہ ایک گھڑی پیچھے ہو سکتے ہیں اور نہ آگے بڑھ سکتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | If Allah were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it (for a single hour).

| Words | |ولو - And if| يؤاخذ - Allah were to seize| الله - Allah were to seize| الناس - the mankind| بظلمهم - for their wrongdoing| ما - not| ترك - He (would) have left| عليها - upon it| من - any| دابة - moving creature,| ولكن - but| يؤخرهم - He defers them| إلى - for| أجل - a term| مسمى - appointed.| فإذا - Then when| جاء - comes| أجلهم - their terms| لا - not| يستأخرون - they (will) remain behind| ساعة - an hour| ولا - and not| يستقدمون - they can advance (it).| | ||||||

[16:62] | WayajAAaloona lillahi mayakrahoona watasifu alsinatuhumu alkathiba annalahumu alhusna la jarama anna lahumu alnnarawaannahum mufratoona | ويجعلون لله ما يكرهون وتصف ألسنتهم الكذب أن لهم الحسنى لا جرم أن لهم النار وأنهم مفرطون وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلّهِ مَا يَكْرَهُونَ وَتَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُهُمُ الْكَذِبَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ الْحُسْنَى لاَ جَرَمَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ الْنَّارَ وَأَنَّهُم مُّفْرَطُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور وہ اللہ کے لئے وہ کچھ مقرر کرتے ہیں جو (اپنے لئے) ناپسند کرتے ہیں اور ان کی زبانیں جھوٹ بولتی ہیں کہ ان کے لئے بھلائی ہے، (ہرگز نہیں!) حقیقت یہ ہے کہ ان کے لئے دوزخ ہے اور یہ (دوزخ میں) سب سے پہلے بھیجے جائیں گے (اور اس میں ہمیشہ کے لئے چھوڑ دیئے جائیں گے) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They attribute to Allah what they hate (for themselves), and their tongues assert the falsehood that all good things are for themselves: without doubt for them is the Fire, and they will be the first to be hastened on into it!

| 3. [16:63] | TaAllahi laqad arsalnaila omamin min qablika fazayyana lahumu alshshaytanuaAAmalahum fahuwa waliyyuhumu alyawma walahum AAathabunaleemun | تالله لقد أرسلنا إلى أمم من قبلك فزين لهم الشيطان أعمالهم فهو وليهم اليوم ولهم عذاب أليم تَاللّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اللہ کی قسم! یقیناً ہم نے آپ سے پہلے (بھی بہت سی) امتوں کی طرف رسول بھیجے تو شیطان نے ان (امتوں) کے لئے ان کے (برے) اعمال آراستہ و خوش نما کر دکھائے، سو وہی (شیطان) آج ان کا دوست ہے اور ان کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | By Allah, We (also) sent (Our messengers) to Peoples before thee; but Satan made, (to the wicked), their own acts seem alluring: He is also their patron today, but they shall have a most grievous penalty.

[16:64] | Wama anzalna AAalayka alkitabailla litubayyina lahumu allathee ikhtalafoo feehiwahudan warahmatan liqawmin yu/minoona | وما أنزلنا عليك الكتاب إلا لتبين لهم الذي اختلفوا فيه وهدى ورحمة لقوم يؤمنون وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ إِلاَّ لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے آپ کی طرف کتاب نہیں اتاری مگر اس لئے کہ آپ ان پر وہ (اُمور) واضح کر دیں جن میں وہ اختلاف کرتے ہیں اور (اس لئے کہ یہ کتاب) ہدایت اور رحمت ہے اس قوم کے لئے جو ایمان لے آئی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe.

[16:65] | WaAllahu anzala mina alssama-imaan faahya bihi al-arda baAAdamawtiha inna fee thalika laayatan liqawminyasmaAAoona | والله أنزل من السماء ماء فأحيا به الأرض بعد موتها إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يسمعون وَاللّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ الْسَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے آسمان کی جانب سے پانی اتارا اور اس کے ذریعہ زمین کو اس کے مردہ (یعنی بنجر) ہونے کے بعد زندہ (یعنی سرسبز و شاداب) کر دیا۔ بیشک اس میں (نصیحت) سننے والوں کے لئے نشانی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And Allah sends down rain from the skies, and gives therewith life to the earth after its death: verily in this is a Sign for those who listen.

[16:66] | Wa-inna lakum fee al-anAAamilaAAibratan nusqeekum mimma fee butoonihi min baynifarthin wadamin labanan khalisan sa-ighan lilshsharibeena | وإن لكم في الأنعام لعبرة نسقيكم مما في بطونه من بين فرث ودم لبنا خالصا سائغا للشاربين وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِي بُطُونِهِ مِن بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَآئِغًا لِّلشَّارِبِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک تمہارے لئے مویشیوں میں (بھی) مقامِ غور ہے، ہم ان کے جسموں کے اندر کی اس چیز سے جو آنتوں کے (بعض) مشمولات اور خون کے اختلاط سے (وجود میں آتی ہے) خالص دودھ نکال کر تمہیں پلاتے ہیں (جو) پینے والوں کے لئے فرحت بخش ہوتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And verily in cattle (too) will ye find an instructive sign. From what is within their bodies between excretions and blood, We produce, for your drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it.

| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| لكم - for you| في - in| الأنعام - the cattle| لعبرة - (is) a lesson.| نسقيكم - We give you to drink| مما - from what| في - (is) in| بطونه - their bellies,| من - from| بين - between| فرث - bowels| ودم - and blood,| لبنا - milk| خالصا - pure,| سائغا - palatable| للشاربين - to the drinkers.| | ||||||

[16:67] | Wamin thamarati alnnakheeli waal-aAAnabitattakhithoona minhu sakaran warizqan hasanan innafee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaAAqiloona | ومن ثمرات النخيل والأعناب تتخذون منه سكرا ورزقا حسنا إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يعقلون وَمِن ثَمَرَاتِ النَّخِيلِ وَالْأَعْنَابِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کھجور اور انگور کے پھلوں سے تم شکّر اور (دیگر) عمدہ غذائیں بناتے ہو، بیشک اس میں اہلِ عقل کے لئے نشانی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And from the fruit of the date-palm and the vine, ye get out wholesome drink and food: behold, in this also is a sign for those who are wise.

| Words | |ومن - And from| ثمرات - fruits| النخيل - the date-palm,| والأعناب - and the grapes,| تتخذون - you take| منه - from it| سكرا - intoxicant| ورزقا - and a provision| حسنا - good.| إن - Indeed,| في - in| ذلك - that| لآية - (is) surely a Sign| لقوم - for a people| يعقلون - who use reason.| | ||||||
| 8. [16:68] | Waawha rabbuka ila alnnahliani ittakhithee mina aljibali buyootan wamina alshshajariwamimma yaAArishoona | وأوحى ربك إلى النحل أن اتخذي من الجبال بيوتا ومن الشجر ومما يعرشون وَأَوْحَى رَبُّكَ إِلَى النَّحْلِ أَنِ اتَّخِذِي مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا وَمِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آپ کے رب نے شہد کی مکھی کے دل میں (خیال) ڈال دیا کہ تو بعض پہاڑوں میں اپنے گھر بنا اور بعض درختوں میں اور بعض چھپروں میں (بھی) جنہیں لوگ (چھت کی طرح) اونچا بناتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And thy Lord taught the Bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men's) habitations;

| Words | |وأوحى - And inspired| ربك - your Lord| إلى - to| النحل - the bee,| أن - [that]| اتخذي - "Take| من - among| الجبال - the mountains,| بيوتا - houses| ومن - and among| الشجر - the trees,| ومما - and in what| يعرشون - they construct.| | ||||||

[16:69] | Thumma kulee min kulli alththamaratifaoslukee subula rabbiki thululan yakhruju min butoonihasharabun mukhtalifun alwanuhu feehi shifaonlilnnasi inna fee thalika laayatanliqawmin yatafakkaroona | ثم كلي من كل الثمرات فاسلكي سبل ربك ذللا يخرج من بطونها شراب مختلف ألوانه فيه شفاء للناس إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يتفكرون ثُمَّ كُلِي مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ فَاسْلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلاً يَخْرُجُ مِن بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِّلنَّاسِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس تو ہر قسم کے پھلوں سے رس چوسا کر پھر اپنے رب کے (سمجھائے ہوئے) راستوں پر (جو ان پھلوں اور پھولوں تک جاتے ہیں جن سے تو نے رس چوسنا ہے، دوسری مکھیوں کے لئے بھی) آسانی فراہم کرتے ہوئے چلا کر، ان کے شکموں سے ایک پینے کی چیز نکلتی ہے (وہ شہد ہے) جس کے رنگ جداگانہ ہوتے ہیں، اس میں لوگوں کے لئے شفا ہے، بیشک اس میں غور و فکر کرنے والوں کے لئے نشانی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought.

[16:73] | WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi mala yamliku lahum rizqan mina alssamawatiwaal-ardi shay-an wala yastateeAAoona | ويعبدون من دون الله ما لا يملك لهم رزقا من السماوات والأرض شيئا ولا يستطيعون وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ مَا لاَ يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا مِّنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ کے سوا ان (بتوں) کی پرستش کرتے ہیں جو آسمانوں اور زمین سے ان کے لئے کسی قدر رزق دینے کے بھی مالک نہیں ہیں اور نہ ہی کچھ قدرت رکھتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And worship others than Allah,- such as have no power of providing them, for sustenance, with anything in heavens or earth, and cannot possibly have such power?

[16:70] | WaAllahu khalaqakum thummayatawaffakum waminkum man yuraddu ila arthalialAAumuri likay la yaAAlama baAAda AAilmin shay-an innaAllaha AAaleemun qadeerun | والله خلقكم ثم يتوفاكم ومنكم من يرد إلى أرذل العمر لكي لا يعلم بعد علم شيئا إن الله عليم قدير وَاللّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّاكُمْ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَى أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْ لاَ يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے تمہیں پیدا فرمایا ہے پھر وہ تمہیں وفات دیتا (یعنی تمہاری روح قبض کرتا) ہے۔ اور تم میں سے کسی کو ناقص ترین عمر (بڑھاپا) کی طرف پھیر دیا جاتا ہے تاکہ (زندگی میں بہت کچھ) جان لینے کے بعد اب کچھ بھی نہ جانے (یعنی انسان مرنے سے پہلے اپنی بے بسی و کم مائیگی کا منظر بھی دیکھ لے)، بیشک اللہ خوب جاننے والا بڑی قدرت والا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is Allah who creates you and takes your souls at death; and of you there are some who are sent back to a feeble age, so that they know nothing after having known (much): for Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.

| Words | |والله - And Allah| خلقكم - created you,| ثم - then| يتوفاكم - will cause you to die.| ومنكم - And among you| من - (is one) who| يرد - is sent back| إلى - to| أرذل - the worst| العمر - (of) the age,| لكي - so that| لا - not| يعلم - he will know| بعد - after| علم - knowledge| شيئا - a thing.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| عليم - (is) All-Knowing,| قدير - All-Powerful.| | ||||||
| 12. [16:74] | Fala tadriboo lillahial-amthala inna Allaha yaAAlamu waantum lataAAlamoona | فلا تضربوا لله الأمثال إن الله يعلم وأنتم لا تعلمون فَلاَ تَضْرِبُواْ لِلّهِ الْأَمْثَالَ إِنَّ اللّهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس تم اللہ کے لئے مثل نہ ٹھہرایا کرو، بیشک اللہ جانتا ہے اور تم نہیں جانتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Invent not similitudes for Allah: for Allah knoweth, and ye know not.

| Words | |فلا - So (do) not| تضربوا - put forth| لله - for Allah| الأمثال - the similitude.| إن - Indeed,| الله - Allah| يعلم - knows| وأنتم - and you| لا - (do) not| تعلمون - know.| | ||||||

[16:71] | WaAllahu faddala baAAdakumAAala baAAdin fee alrrizqi fama allatheenafuddiloo biraddee rizqihim AAala mamalakat aymanuhum fahum feehi sawaon afabiniAAmatiAllahi yajhadoona | والله فضل بعضكم على بعض في الرزق فما الذين فضلوا برادي رزقهم على ما ملكت أيمانهم فهم فيه سواء أفبنعمة الله يجحدون وَاللّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الْرِّزْقِ فَمَا الَّذِينَ فُضِّلُواْ بِرَآدِّي رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَى مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاءٌ أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اللّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے تم میں سے بعض کو بعض پر رزق (کے درجات) میں فضیلت دی ہے (تاکہ وہ تمہیں حکمِ انفاق کے ذریعے آزمائے)، مگر جن لوگوں کو فضیلت دی گئی ہے وہ اپنی دولت (کے کچھ حصہ کو بھی) اپنے زیردست لوگوں پر نہیں لوٹاتے (یعنی خرچ نہیں کرتے) حالانکہ وہ سب اس میں (بنیادی ضروریات کی حد تک) برابر ہیں، تو کیا وہ اللہ کی نعمتوں کا انکار کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Allah has bestowed His gifts of sustenance more freely on some of you than on others: those more favoured are not going to throw back their gifts to those whom their right hands possess, so as to be equal in that respect. Will they then deny the favours of Allah?

| Words | |والله - And Allah| فضل - has favored| بعضكم - some of you| على - over| بعض - others| في - in| الرزق - [the] provision.| فما - But not| الذين - those who| فضلوا - were favored| برادي - would hand over| رزقهم - their provision| على - to| ما - whom| ملكت - possess| أيمانهم - their right hands,| فهم - so (that) they| فيه - (are) in it| سواء - equal.| أفبنعمة - Then is it the Favor| الله - of Allah| يجحدون - they reject?| | ||||||

[16:78] | WaAllahu akhrajakum min butooniommahatikum la taAAlamoona shay-an wajaAAala lakumualssamAAa waal-absara waal-af-idatalaAAallakum tashkuroona | والله أخرجكم من بطون أمهاتكم لا تعلمون شيئا وجعل لكم السمع والأبصار والأفئدة لعلكم تشكرون وَاللّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّن بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْسَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے تمہیں تمہاری ماؤں کے پیٹ سے (اس حالت میں) باہر نکالا کہ تم کچھ نہ جانتے تھے اور اس نے تمہارے لئے کان اور آنکھیں اور دل بنائے تاکہ تم شکر بجا لاؤ | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is He Who brought you forth from the wombs of your mothers when ye knew nothing; and He gave you hearing and sight and intelligence and affections: that ye may give thanks (to Allah).

[16:72] | WaAllahu jaAAala lakum minanfusikum azwajan wajaAAala lakum min azwajikumbaneena wahafadatan warazaqakum mina alttayyibatiafabialbatili yu/minoona wabiniAAmati Allahihum yakfuroona | والله جعل لكم من أنفسكم أزواجا وجعل لكم من أزواجكم بنين وحفدة ورزقكم من الطيبات أفبالباطل يؤمنون وبنعمت الله هم يكفرون وَاللّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةً وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ أَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ اللّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے تم ہی میں سے تمہارے لئے جوڑے پیدا فرمائے اور تمہارے جوڑوں (یعنی بیویوں) سے تمہارے لئے بیٹے اور پوتے/ نواسے پیدا فرمائے اور تمہیں پاکیزہ رزق عطا فرمایا، تو کیا پھر بھی وہ (حق کو چھوڑ کر) باطل پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور اللہ کی نعمت سے وہ ناشکری کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And Allah has made for you mates (and companions) of your own nature, and made for you, out of them, sons and daughters and grandchildren, and provided for you sustenance of the best: will they then believe in vain things, and be ungrateful for Allah's favours?-

[16:79] | Alam yaraw ila alttayrimusakhkharatin fee jawwi alssama-i mayumsikuhunna illa Allahu inna fee thalika laayatinliqawmin yu/minoona | ألم يروا إلى الطير مسخرات في جو السماء ما يمسكهن إلا الله إن في ذلك لآيات لقوم يؤمنون أَلَمْ يَرَوْاْ إِلَى الطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ فِي جَوِّ السَّمَاءِ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلاَّ اللّهُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا انہوں نے پرندوں کو نہیں دیکھا جو آسمان کی ہوا میں (قانونِ حرکت و پرواز کے) پابند (ہو کر اڑتے رہتے) ہیں، انہیں اللہ کے (قانون کے) سوا کوئی چیز تھامے ہوئے نہیں ہے۔ بیشک اس (پرواز کے اصول) میں ایمان والوں کے لئے نشانیاں ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Do they not look at the birds, held poised in the midst of (the air and) the sky? Nothing holds them up but (the power of) Allah. Verily in this are signs for those who believe.

[16:75] | Daraba Allahu mathalan AAabdanmamlookan la yaqdiru AAala shay-in waman razaqnahuminna rizqan hasanan fahuwa yunfiqu minhu sirranwajahran hal yastawoona alhamdu lillahi balaktharuhum la yaAAlamoona | ضرب الله مثلا عبدا مملوكا لا يقدر على شيء ومن رزقناه منا رزقا حسنا فهو ينفق منه سرا وجهرا هل يستوون الحمد لله بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون ضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا لاَّ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَاهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًا هَلْ يَسْتَوُونَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اللہ نے ایک مثال بیان فرمائی ہے (کہ) ایک غلام ہے (جو کسی کی) ملکیت میں ہے (خود) کسی چیز پر قدرت نہیں رکھتا اور (دوسرا) وہ شخص ہے جسے ہم نے اپنی طرف سے عمدہ روزی عطا فرمائی ہے سو وہ اس میں سے پوشیدہ اور ظاہر خرچ کرتا ہے، کیا وہ برابر ہو سکتے ہیں، سب تعریفیں اللہ کے لئے ہیں، بلکہ ان میں سے اکثر (بنیادی حقیقت کو بھی) نہیں جانتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Allah sets forth the Parable (of two men: one) a slave under the dominion of another; He has no power of any sort; and (the other) a man on whom We have bestowed goodly favours from Ourselves, and he spends thereof (freely), privately and publicly: are the two equal? (By no means;) praise be to Allah. But most of them understand not.

[16:76] | Wadaraba Allahu mathalanrajulayni ahaduhuma abkamu la yaqdiru AAalashay-in wahuwa kallun AAala mawlahu aynamayuwajjihhu la ya/ti bikhayrin hal yastawee huwa wamanya/muru bialAAadli wahuwa AAala siratinmustaqeemin | وضرب الله مثلا رجلين أحدهما أبكم لا يقدر على شيء وهو كل على مولاه أينما يوجهه لا يأت بخير هل يستوي هو ومن يأمر بالعدل وهو على صراط مستقيم وَضَرَبَ اللّهُ مَثَلاً رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَبْكَمُ لاَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَى شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَى مَوْلاَهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لاَ يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَهُوَ عَلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے دو (ایسے) آدمیوں کی مثال بیان فرمائی ہے جن میں سے ایک گونگا ہے وہ کسی چیز پر قدرت نہیں رکھتا اور وہ اپنے مالک پر بوجھ ہے وہ (مالک) اسے جدھر بھی بھیجتا ہے کوئی بھلائی لے کر نہیں آتا، کیا وہ (گونگا) اور (دوسرا) وہ شخص جو (اس منصب کا حامل ہے کہ) لوگوں کو عدل و انصاف کا حکم دیتا ہے اور وہ خود بھی سیدھی راہ پر گامزن ہے (دونوں) برابر ہو سکتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Allah sets forth (another) Parable of two men: one of them dumb, with no power of any sort; a wearisome burden is he to his master; whichever way be directs him, he brings no good: is such a man equal with one who commands Justice, and is on a Straight Way?

[16:77] | Walillahi ghaybu alssamawatiwaal-ardi wama amru alssaAAatiilla kalamhi albasari aw huwa aqrabu innaAllaha AAala kulli shay-in qadeerun | ولله غيب السماوات والأرض وما أمر الساعة إلا كلمح البصر أو هو أقرب إن الله على كل شيء قدير وَلِلّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا أَمْرُ السَّاعَةِ إِلاَّ كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ إِنَّ اللّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور آسمانوں اور زمین کا (سب) غیب اللہ ہی کے لئے ہے، اور قیامت کے بپا ہونے کا واقعہ اس قدر تیزی سے ہوگا جیسے آنکھ کا جھپکنا یا ا س سے بھی تیز تر، بیشک اللہ ہر چیز پر بڑا قادر ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | To Allah belongeth the Mystery of the heavens and the earth. And the Decision of the Hour (of Judgment) is as the twingkling of an eye, or even quicker: for Allah hath power over all things.

| 20. [16:82] | Fa-in tawallaw fa-innama AAalaykaalbalaghu almubeenu | فإن تولوا فإنما عليك البلاغ المبين فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلاَغُ الْمُبِينُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو اگر (پھر بھی) وہ رُوگردانی کریں تو (اے نبیِ معظم!) آپ کے ذمہ تو صرف (میرے پیغام اور احکام کو) صاف صاف پہنچا دینا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But if they turn away, thy duty is only to preach the clear Message.

| 21. [16:83] | YaAArifoona niAAmata Allahi thummayunkiroonaha waaktharuhumu alkafiroona | يعرفون نعمت الله ثم ينكرونها وأكثرهم الكافرون يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | یہ لوگ اللہ کی نعمت کو پہچانتے ہیں پھر اس کا انکار کرتے ہیں اور ان میں سے اکثر کافر ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They recognise the favours of Allah; then they deny them; and most of them are (creatures) ungrateful.

[16:80] | WaAllahu jaAAala lakum minbuyootikum sakanan wajaAAala lakum min juloodi al-anAAamibuyootan tastakhiffoonaha yawma thaAAnikumwayawma iqamatikum wamin aswafihawaawbariha waashAAariha athathanwamataAAan ila heenin | والله جعل لكم من بيوتكم سكنا وجعل لكم من جلود الأنعام بيوتا تستخفونها يوم ظعنكم ويوم إقامتكم ومن أصوافها وأوبارها وأشعارها أثاثا ومتاعا إلى حين وَاللّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ الْأَنْعَامِ بُيُوتًا تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْبَارِهَا وَأَشْعَارِهَا أَثَاثًا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَى حِينٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ نے تمہارے لئے تمہارے گھروں کو (مستقل) سکونت کی جگہ بنایا اور تمہارے لئے چوپایوں کی کھالوں سے (عارضی) گھر (یعنی خیمے) بنائے جنہیں تم اپنے سفر کے وقت اور (دورانِ سفر منزلوں پر) اپنے ٹھہرنے کے وقت ہلکا پھلکا پاتے ہو اور (اسی اللہ نے تمہارے لئے) بھیڑوں اور دنبوں کی اون اور اونٹوں کی پشم اور بکریوں کے بالوں سے گھریلو استعمال اور (معیشت و تجارت میں) فائدہ اٹھانے کے اسباب بنائے (جو) مقررہ مدت تک (ہیں) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is Allah Who made your habitations homes of rest and quiet for you; and made for you, out of the skins of animals, (tents for) dwellings, which ye find so light (and handy) when ye travel and when ye stop (in your travels); and out of their wool, and their soft fibres (between wool and hair), and their hair, rich stuff and articles of convenience (to serve you) for a time.

[16:84] | Wayawma nabAAathu min kulli ommatinshaheedan thumma la yu/thanu lillatheenakafaroo wala hum yustaAAtaboona | ويوم نبعث من كل أمة شهيدا ثم لا يؤذن للذين كفروا ولا هم يستعتبون وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا ثُمَّ لاَ يُؤْذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَلاَ هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جس دن ہم ہر اُمت سے (اس کے رسول کو اس کے اعمال پر) گواہ بنا کر اٹھائیں گے پھر کافر لوگوں کو (کوئی عذر پیش کرنے کی) اجازت نہیں دی جائے گی اور نہ (اس وقت) ان سے توبہ و رجوع کا مطالبہ کیا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | One Day We shall raise from all Peoples a Witness: then will no excuse be accepted from Unbelievers, nor will they receive any favours.

[16:81] | WaAllahu jaAAala lakum mimmakhalaqa thilalan wajaAAala lakum mina aljibaliaknanan wajaAAala lakum sarabeela taqeekumu alharrawasarabeela taqeekum ba/sakum kathalika yutimmuniAAmatahu AAalaykum laAAallakum tuslimoona | والله جعل لكم مما خلق ظلالا وجعل لكم من الجبال أكنانا وجعل لكم سرابيل تقيكم الحر وسرابيل تقيكم بأسكم كذلك يتم نعمته عليكم لعلكم تسلمون وَاللّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلاَلاً وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الْجِبَالِ أَكْنَانًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ الْحَرَّ وَسَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ كَذَلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور اللہ ہی نے تمہارے لئے اپنی پیدا کردہ کئی چیزوں کے سائے بنائے اور اس نے تمہارے لئے پہاڑوں میں پناہ گاہیں بنائیں اور اس نے تمہارے لئے (کچھ) ایسے لباس بنائے جو تمہیں گرمی سے بچاتے ہیں اور (کچھ) ایسے لباس جو تمہیں شدید جنگ میں (دشمن کے وار سے) بچاتے ہیں، اس طرح اللہ تم پر اپنی نعمتِ (کفالت و حفاظت) پوری فرماتا ہے تاکہ تم (اس کے حضور) سرِ نیاز خم کر دو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | It is Allah Who made out of the things He created, some things to give you shade; of the hills He made some for your shelter; He made you garments to protect you from heat, and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. Thus does He complete His favours on you, that ye may bow to His Will (in Islam).

| 25. [16:85] | Wa-itha raa allatheena thalamooalAAathaba fala yukhaffafu AAanhum wala humyuntharoona | وإذا رأى الذين ظلموا العذاب فلا يخفف عنهم ولا هم ينظرون وَإِذَا رَأَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ الْعَذَابَ فَلاَ يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب ظالم لوگ عذاب دیکھ لیں گے تو نہ ان سے (اس عذاب کی) تخفیف کی جائے گی اور نہ ہی انہیں مہلت دی جائے گی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When the wrong-doers (actually) see the Penalty, then will it in no way be mitigated, nor will they then receive respite.

| Words | |وإذا - And when| رأى - (will) see| الذين - those who| ظلموا - wronged| العذاب - the punishment,| فلا - then not| يخفف - it will be lightened| عنهم - for them| ولا - and not| هم - they| ينظرون - will be given respite.| | ||||||

[16:86] | Wa-itha raa allatheenaashrakoo shurakaahum qaloo rabbana haola-ishurakaona allatheena kunna nadAAoomin doonika faalqaw ilayhimu alqawla innakum lakathiboona | وإذا رأى الذين أشركوا شركاءهم قالوا ربنا هؤلاء شركاؤنا الذين كنا ندعو من دونك فألقوا إليهم القول إنكم لكاذبون وَإِذَا رَأَى الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ شُرَكَاءَهُمْ قَالُواْ رَبَّنَا هَـؤُلاَءِ شُرَكَآؤُنَا الَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُوْاْ مِن دُونِكَ فَألْقَوْا إِلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلَ إِنَّكُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب مشرک لوگ اپنے (خود ساختہ) شریکوں کو دیکھیں گے تو کہیں گے: اے ہمارے رب! یہی ہمارے شریک تھے جن کی ہم تجھے چھوڑ کر پرستش کرتے تھے، پس وہ (شرکاء) انہیں (جواباً) پیغام بھیجیں گے کہ بیشک تم جھوٹے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When those who gave partners to Allah will see their "partners", they will say: "Our Lord! these are our 'partners,' those whom we used to invoke besides Thee." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Indeed ye are liars!"

| 27. [16:87] | Waalqaw ila Allahi yawma-ithinalssalama wadalla AAanhum ma kanooyaftaroona | وألقوا إلى الله يومئذ السلم وضل عنهم ما كانوا يفترون وَأَلْقَوْاْ إِلَى اللّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ السَّلَمَ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَفْتَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یہ (مشرکین) اس دن اللہ کے حضور عاجزی و فرمانبرداری ظاہر کریں گے اور ان سے وہ سارا بہتان جاتا رہے گا جو یہ باندھا کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | That Day shall they (openly) show (their) submission to Allah; and all their inventions shall leave them in the lurch.

[16:88] | Allatheena kafaroo wasaddooAAan sabeeli Allahi zidnahum AAathaban fawqaalAAathabi bima kanoo yufsidoona | الذين كفروا وصدوا عن سبيل الله زدناهم عذابا فوق العذاب بما كانوا يفسدون الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَصَدُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِ اللّهِ زِدْنَاهُمْ عَذَابًا فَوْقَ الْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يُفْسِدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا اور (دوسروں کو) اللہ کی راہ سے روکتے رہے ہم ان کے عذاب پر عذاب کا اضافہ کریں گے اس وجہ سے کہ وہ فساد انگیزی کرتے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Those who reject Allah and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah - for them will We add Penalty to Penalty; for that they used to spread mischief.
