| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [37:59] | Illa mawtatana al-oolawama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena |  إلا موتتنا الأولى وما نحن بمعذبينإِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا الْأُولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | اپنی پہلی موت کے سوا (جس سے گزر کر ہم یہاں آچکے) اور نہ ہم پر کبھی عذاب کیا جائے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?"

| Words | |إلا - Except| موتتنا - our death| الأولى - the first,| وما - and not| نحن - we| بمعذبين - will be punished?"| | ||||||
| 2. [37:60] | Inna hatha lahuwa alfawzu alAAatheemu | إن هذا لهو الفوز العظيم إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک یہی تو عظیم کامیابی ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily this is the supreme achievement!
| ||||||
| Words | |إن - Indeed,| هذا - this| لهو - surely| الفوز - (is) the attainment| العظيم - great.| | ||||||
| 3. [37:65] | TalAAuha kaannahu ruoosu alshshayateeni | طلعها كأنه رءوس الشياطين طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُ رُؤُوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس کے خوشے ایسے ہیں گویا (بدنما) شیطانوں کے سَر ہوں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils:
| ||||||
| Words | |طلعها - Its emerging fruit| كأنه - (is) as if it| رءوس - (was) heads| الشياطين - (of) the devils.| | ||||||
| 4. [37:69] | Innahum alfaw abaahum dalleena | إنهم ألفوا آباءهم ضالين إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک انہوں نے اپنے باپ دادا کوگمراہ پایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path;
| ||||||
| Words | |إنهم - Indeed, they| ألفوا - found| آباءهم - their fathers| ضالين - astray.| | ||||||
| 5. [37:70] | Fahum AAala atharihimyuhraAAoona | فهم على آثارهم يهرعون فَهُمْ عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو وہ انہی کے نقشِ قدم پر دوڑائے جا رہے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps!

| Words | |فهم - So they| على - on| آثارهم - their footsteps| يهرعون - they hastened.| | ||||||
| 6. [37:62] | Athalika khayrun nuzulan am shajaratualzzaqqoomi | أذلك خير نزلا أم شجرة الزقوم أَذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بھلا یہ (خُلد کی) مہمانی بہتر ہے یا زقّوم کا درخت | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum?
| ||||||
| Words | |أذلك - Is that| خير - better| نزلا - (as) hospitality| أم - or| شجرة - (the) tree| الزقوم - (of) Zaqqum?| | ||||||
| 7. [37:64] | Innaha shajaratun takhruju fee aslialjaheemi | إنها شجرة تخرج في أصل الجحيم إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِي أَصْلِ الْجَحِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک یہ ایک درخت ہے جو دوزخ کے سب سے نچلے حصہ سے نکلتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire:

| Words | |إنها - Indeed, it| شجرة - (is) a tree| تخرج - that grows| في - in| أصل - (the) bottom| الجحيم - (of) the Hellfire,| | ||||||
| 8. [37:66] | Fa-innahum laakiloona minhafamali-oona minha albutoona | فإنهم لآكلون منها فمالئون منها البطون فَإِنَّهُمْ لَآكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِؤُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس وہ (دوزخی) اسی میں سے کھانے والے ہیں اور اسی سے پیٹ بھرنے والے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith.
| ||||||
| Words | |فإنهم - And indeed, they| لآكلون - (will) surely eat| منها - from it| فمالئون - and fill| منها - with it| البطون - (their) bellies.| | ||||||
| 9. [37:67] | Thumma inna lahum AAalayha lashawbanmin hameemin | ثم إن لهم عليها لشوبا من حميم ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر یقیناً اُن کے لئے اس (کھانے) پر (پیپ کا) ملا ہوا نہایت گرم پانی ہوگا (جو انتڑیوں کو کاٹ دے گا) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water.

| Words | |ثم - Then| إن - indeed,| لهم - for them| عليها - in it| لشوبا - (is) a mixture| من - of| حميم - boiling water.| | ||||||
| 10. [37:68] | Thumma inna marjiAAahum la-ila aljaheemi | ثم إن مرجعهم لإلى الجحيم ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى الْجَحِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (کھانے کے بعد) پھر یقیناً ان کا دوزخ ہی کی طرف (دوبارہ) پلٹنا ہوگا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire.

| Words | |ثم - Then| إن - indeed,| مرجعهم - their return| لإلى - (will) surely be to| الجحيم - the Hellfire.| | ||||||
| 11. [37:72] | Walaqad arsalna feehim munthireena | ولقد أرسلنا فيهم منذرين وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یقیناً ہم نے ان میں بھی ڈر سنانے والے بھیجے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;-
| ||||||
| Words | |ولقد - And verily,| أرسلنا - We sent| فيهم - among them| منذرين - warners.| | ||||||
| 12. [37:74] | Illa AAibada Allahialmukhlaseena | إلا عباد الله المخلصين إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سوائے اﷲ کے چنیدہ و برگزیدہ بندوں کے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah.
| ||||||
| Words | |إلا - Except| عباد - (the) slaves| الله - (of) Allah| المخلصين - the chosen ones.| | ||||||
| 13. [37:77] | WajaAAalna thurriyyatahu humualbaqeena | وجعلنا ذريته هم الباقين وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُ هُمْ الْبَاقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے فقط اُن ہی کی نسل کو باقی رہنے والا بنایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And made his progeny to endure (on this earth);
| ||||||
| Words | |وجعلنا - And We made| ذريته - his offspring| هم - [they]| الباقين - the survivors.| | ||||||
| 14. [37:71] | Walaqad dalla qablahum aktharual-awwaleena | ولقد ضل قبلهم أكثر الأولين وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور درحقیقت اُن سے قبل پہلے لوگوں میں (بھی) اکثر گمراہ ہوگئے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;-
| ||||||
| Words | |ولقد - And verily,| ضل - went astray| قبلهم - before them| أكثر - most| الأولين - (of) the former (people),| | ||||||
| 15. [37:73] | Faonthur kayfa kanaAAaqibatu almunthareena | فانظر كيف كان عاقبة المنذرين فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُنذَرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو آپ دیکھئے کہ ان لوگوں کا انجام کیسا ہوا جو ڈرائے گئے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),-
| ||||||
| Words | |فانظر - Then see| كيف - how| كان - was| عاقبة - (the) end| المنذرين - (of) those who were warned,| | ||||||
| 16. [37:75] | Walaqad nadana noohunfalaniAAma almujeeboona | ولقد نادانا نوح فلنعم المجيبون وَلَقَدْ نَادَانَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ الْمُجِيبُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہمیں نوح (علیہ السلام) نے پکارا تو ہم کتنے اچھے فریاد رَس ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer.
| ||||||
| Words | |ولقد - And verily,| نادانا - called Us| نوح - Nuh;| فلنعم - and Best| المجيبون - (are We as) Responders!| | ||||||
| 17. [37:76] | Wanajjaynahu waahlahu mina alkarbialAAatheemi | ونجيناه وأهله من الكرب العظيم وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے اُنہیں اور اُن کے گھر والوں کو سخت تکلیف سے بچا لیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity,
| ||||||
| Words | |ونجيناه - And We saved him| وأهله - and his family| من - from| الكرب - the distress,| العظيم - the great.| | ||||||
| 18. [37:78] | Watarakna AAalayhi fee al-akhireena | وتركنا عليه في الآخرين وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور پیچھے آنے والوں (یعنی انبیاء و اُمم) میں ہم نے ان کا ذکرِ خیر باقی رکھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times:

| Words | |وتركنا - And We left| عليه - for him| في - among| الآخرين - the later generations.| | ||||||
| 19. [37:79] | Salamun AAala noohinfee alAAalameena | سلام على نوح في العالمين سَلَامٌ عَلَى نُوحٍ فِي الْعَالَمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سلام ہو نوح پر سب جہانوں میں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!"
| ||||||
| Words | |سلام - "Peace be| على - upon| نوح - Nuh| في - among| العالمين - the worlds."| | ||||||
| 20. [37:80] | Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena | إنا كذلك نجزي المحسنين إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہم نیکو کاروں کو اسی طرح بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thus indeed do we reward those who do right.
| ||||||
| Words | |إنا - Indeed, We| كذلك - thus| نجزي - [We] reward| المحسنين - the good-doers.| | ||||||
| 21. [37:81] | Innahu min AAibadinaalmu/mineena | إنه من عبادنا المؤمنين إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک وہ ہمارے (کامل) ایمان والے بندوں میں سے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For he was one of our believing Servants.
| ||||||
| Words | |إنه - Indeed, he| من - (was) of| عبادنا - Our slaves| المؤمنين - believing.| | ||||||
| 22. [37:82] | Thumma aghraqna al-akhareena | ثم أغرقنا الآخرين ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا الْآخَرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر ہم نے دوسروں کو غرق کردیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood.
| ||||||
| Words | |ثم - Then| أغرقنا - We drowned| الآخرين - the others.| | ||||||
| 23. [37:83] | Wa-inna min sheeAAatihi la-ibraheema | وإن من شيعته لإبراهيم وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِ لَإِبْرَاهِيمَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک اُن کے گروہ میں سے ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) (بھی) تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham.
| ||||||
| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| من - among| شيعته - his kind| لإبراهيم - (was) surely Ibrahim,| | ||||||
| 24. [37:84] | Ith jaa rabbahu biqalbinsaleemin | إذ جاء ربه بقلب سليم إِذْ جَاءَ رَبَّهُ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب وہ اپنے رب کی بارگاہ میں قلبِ سلیم کے ساتھ حاضر ہوئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart.
| ||||||
| Words | |إذ - When| جاء - he came| ربه - (to) his Lord| بقلب - with a heart| سليم - sound,| | ||||||
| 25. [37:85] | Ith qala li-abeehi waqawmihi mathataAAbudoona | إذ قال لأبيه وقومه ماذا تعبدون إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جبکہ انہوں نے اپنے باپ (جو حقیقت میں چچا تھا، آپ بوجہ پرورش اسے باپ کہتے تھے) اور اپنی قوم سے کہا: تم کن چیزوں کی پرستش کرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship?
| ||||||
| Words | |إذ - When| قال - he said| لأبيه - to his father| وقومه - and his people,| ماذا - "What is it| تعبدون - you worship?| | ||||||
| 26. [37:86] | A-ifkan alihatan doona Allahitureedoona | أئفكا آلهة دون الله تريدون أَئِفْكًا آلِهَةً دُونَ اللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا تم بہتان باندھ کر اﷲ کے سوا (جھوٹے) معبودوں کا ارادہ کرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire?
| ||||||
| Words | |أئفكا - Is it falsehood -| آلهة - gods| دون - other than| الله - Allah -| تريدون - (that) you desire?| | ||||||
| 27. [37:87] | Fama thannukum birabbialAAalameena | فما ظنكم برب العالمين فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بھلا تمام جہانوں کے رب کے بارے میں تمہارا کیا خیال ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?"
| ||||||
| Words | |فما - Then what| ظنكم - (do) you think| برب - about (the) Lord| العالمين - (of) the worlds?"| | ||||||
| 28. [37:88] | Fanathara nathratanfee alnnujoomi | فنظر نظرة في النجوم فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِي النُّجُومِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر (ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے اُنہیں وہم میں ڈالنے کے لئے) ایک نظر ستاروں کی طرف کی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then did he cast a glance at the Stars.
| ||||||
| Words | |فنظر - Then he glanced| نظرة - a glance| في - at| النجوم - the stars,| | ||||||
| 29. [37:89] | Faqala innee saqeemun | فقال إني سقيم فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَقِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور کہا: میری طبیعت مُضمحِل ہے (تمہارے ساتھ میلے پر نہیں جاسکتا) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!"
| ||||||
| Words | |فقال - And he said,| إني - "Indeed, I am| سقيم - sick."| | ||||||
| 30. [37:90] | Fatawallaw AAanhu mudbireena | فتولوا عنه مدبرين فَتَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو وہ اُن سے پیٹھ پھیر کر لوٹ گئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So they turned away from him, and departed.
