| بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| 1. [37:121] | Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena |  إنا كذلك نجزي المحسنينإِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||

| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک ہم نیکو کاروں کو اسی طرح صِلہ دیا کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thus indeed do We reward those who do right.
| ||||||
| Words | |إنا - Indeed, We| كذلك - thus| نجزي - reward| المحسنين - the good-doers.| | ||||||
| 2. [37:122] | Innahuma min AAibadinaalmu/mineena | إنهما من عبادنا المؤمنين إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک وہ دونوں ہمارے (کامل) ایمان والے بندوں میں سے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For they were two of our believing Servants.
| ||||||
| Words | |إنهما - Indeed, both of them| من - (were) of| عبادنا - Our slaves| المؤمنين - believing.| | ||||||
| 3. [37:123] | Wa-inna ilyasa lamina almursaleena | وإن إلياس لمن المرسلين وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یقیناً الیاس (علیہ السلام بھی) رسولوں میں سے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So also was Elias among those sent (by Us).
| ||||||
| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| إلياس - Elijah| لمن - (was) surely of| المرسلين - the Messengers.| | ||||||
| 4. [37:124] | Ith qala liqawmihi alatattaqoona | إذ قال لقومه ألا تتقون إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے کہا: کیا تم (اﷲ سے) نہیں ڈرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)?
| ||||||
| Words | |إذ - When| قال - he said| لقومه - to his people,| ألا - "Will not| تتقون - you fear?| | ||||||
| 5. [37:125] | AtadAAoona baAAlan watatharoona ahsanaalkhaliqeena | أتدعون بعلا وتذرون أحسن الخالقين أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ الْخَالِقِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کیا تم بَعل (نامی بُت) کو پوجتے ہو اور سب سے بہتر خالق کو چھوڑ دیتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,-
| ||||||
| Words | |أتدعون - Do you call| بعلا - Baal| وتذرون - and you forsake| أحسن - (the) Best| الخالقين - (of) Creators -| | ||||||
| 6. [37:126] | Allaha rabbakum warabba aba-ikumual-awwaleena | الله ربكم ورب آبائكم الأولين اللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (یعنی) اﷲ جو تمہارا (بھی) رب ہے اور تمہارے اگلے باپ دادوں کا (بھی) رب ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?"
| ||||||
| Words | |الله - Allah,| ربكم - your Lord| ورب - and (the) Lord| آبائكم - (of) your forefathers?"| الأولين - (of) your forefathers?"| | ||||||
| 7. [37:127] | Fakaththaboohu fa-innahum lamuhdaroona | فكذبوه فإنهم لمحضرون فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو ان لوگوں نے (یعنی قومِ بعلبک نے) الیاس (علیہ السلام) کو جھٹلایا پس وہ (بھی عذابِ جہنم میں) حاضر کردیے جائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment),-
| ||||||
| Words | |فكذبوه - But they denied him,| فإنهم - so indeed, they| لمحضرون - (will) surely be brought,| | ||||||
| 8. [37:128] | Illa AAibada Allahialmukhlaseena | إلا عباد الله المخلصين إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سوائے اﷲ کے چُنے ہوئے بندوں کے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Except the sincere and devoted Servants of Allah (among them).
| ||||||
| Words | |إلا - Except| عباد - (the) slaves| الله - (of) Allah| المخلصين - the chosen ones.| | ||||||
| 9. [37:129] | Watarakna AAalayhi fee al-akhireena | وتركنا عليه في الآخرين وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے ان کا ذکرِ خیر (بھی) پیچھے آنے والوں میں برقرار رکھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times:

| Words | |وتركنا - And We left| عليه - for him| في - among| الآخرين - the later generations.| | ||||||
| 10. [37:130] | Salamun AAala il yaseena | سلام على إل ياسين سَلَامٌ عَلَى إِلْ يَاسِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سلام ہو الیاس پر | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!"
| ||||||
| Words | |سلام - "Peace be| على - upon| إل - Elijah."| | ||||||
| 11. [37:131] | Inna kathalika najzee almuhsineena | إنا كذلك نجزي المحسنين إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک ہم نیکو کاروں کو اسی طرح صِلہ دیا کرتے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Thus indeed do We reward those who do right.

| 12. [37:132] | Innahu min AAibadinaalmu/mineena | إنه من عبادنا المؤمنين إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بے شک وہ ہمارے (کامل) ایمان والے بندوں میں سے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | For he was one of our believing Servants.
| ||||||
| Words | |إنه - Indeed, he (was)| من - of| عبادنا - Our slaves| المؤمنين - believing.| | ||||||
| 13. [37:133] | Wa-inna lootan lamina almursaleena | وإن لوطا لمن المرسلين وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بے شک لوط (علیہ السلام بھی) رسولوں میں سے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So also was Lut among those sent (by Us).
| ||||||
| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| لوطا - Lut| لمن - (was) of| المرسلين - the Messengers.| | ||||||
| 14. [37:134] | Ith najjaynahu waahlahuajmaAAeena | إذ نجيناه وأهله أجمعين إِذْ نَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب ہم نے اُن کو اور ان کے سب گھر والوں کو نجات بخشی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all
| ||||||
| Words | |إذ - When| نجيناه - We saved him| وأهله - and his family| أجمعين - all,| | ||||||
| 15. [37:135] | Illa AAajoozan fee alghabireena | إلا عجوزا في الغابرين إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سوائے اس بڑھیا کے جو پیچھے رہ جانے والوں میں تھی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind:

| Words | |إلا - Except| عجوزا - an old woman| في - (was) among| الغابرين - those who remained behind.| | ||||||
| 16. [37:136] | Thumma dammarna al-akhareena | ثم دمرنا الآخرين ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر ہم نے دوسروں کو ہلاک کر ڈالا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then We destroyed the rest.
| ||||||
| Words | |ثم - Then| دمرنا - We destroyed| الآخرين - the others.| | ||||||
| 17. [37:137] | Wa-innakum latamurroona AAalayhim musbiheena | وإنكم لتمرون عليهم مصبحين وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بے شک تم لوگ اُن (کی اُجڑی بستیوں) پر (مَکّہ سے ملکِ شام کی طرف جاتے ہوئے) صبح کے وقت بھی گزرتے ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day-
| ||||||
| Words | |وإنكم - And indeed, you| لتمرون - surely pass| عليهم - by them| مصبحين - (in the) morning,| | ||||||
| 18. [37:138] | Wabiallayli afala taAAqiloona | وبالليل أفلا تعقلون وَبِاللَّيْلِ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور رات کو بھی، کیا پھر بھی تم عقل نہیں رکھتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And by night: will ye not understand?
| ||||||
| Words | |وبالليل - And at night.| أفلا - Then will not| تعقلون - you use reason?| | ||||||
| 19. [37:139] | Wa-inna yoonusa lamina almursaleena | وإن يونس لمن المرسلين وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور یونس (علیہ السلام بھی) واقعی رسولوں میں سے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us).
| ||||||
| Words | |وإن - And indeed,| يونس - Yunus| لمن - (was) surely of| المرسلين - the Messengers.| | ||||||
| 20. [37:140] | Ith abaqa ila alfulki almashhooni | إذ أبق إلى الفلك المشحون إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب وہ بھری ہوئی کشتی کی طرف دوڑے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden,
| ||||||
| Words | |إذ - When| أبق - he ran away| إلى - to| الفلك - the ship| المشحون - laden.| | ||||||
| 21. [37:141] | Fasahama fakana mina almudhadeena | فساهم فكان من المدحضين فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُدْحَضِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر (کشتی بھنور میں پھنس گئی تو) انہوں نے قرعہ ڈالا تو وہ (قرعہ میں) مغلوب ہوگئے (یعنی ان کا نام نکل آیا اور کشتی والوں نے انہیں دریا میں پھینک دیا) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned:

| Words | |فساهم - Then he drew lots| فكان - and was| من - of| المدحضين - the losers.| | ||||||
| 22. [37:142] | Failtaqamahu alhootu wahuwamuleemun | فالتقمه الحوت وهو مليم فَالْتَقَمَهُ الْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر مچھلی نے ان کو نگل لیا اور وہ (اپنے آپ پر) نادم رہنے والے تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame.
| ||||||
| Words | |فالتقمه - Then swallowed him| الحوت - the fish,| وهو - while he| مليم - (was) blameworthy.| | ||||||
| 23. [37:145] | Fanabathnahu bialAAara-iwahuwa saqeemun | فنبذناه بالعراء وهو سقيم فَنَبَذْنَاهُ بِالْعَرَاءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر ہم نے انہیں (ساحلِ دریا پر) کھلے میدان میں ڈال دیا حالانکہ وہ بیمار تھے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness,
| ||||||
| Words | |فنبذناه - But We cast him| بالعراء - onto the open shore| وهو - while he| سقيم - (was) ill.| | ||||||
| 24. [37:143] | Falawla annahu kana minaalmusabbiheena | فلولا أنه كان من المسبحين فَلَوْلَا أَنَّهُ كَانَ مِنْ الْمُسَبِّحِينَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اگر وہ (اﷲ کی) تسبیح کرنے والوں میں سے نہ ہوتے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah,
| ||||||
| Words | |فلولا - And if not| أنه - that he| كان - was| من - of| المسبحين - those who glorify| | ||||||
| 25. [37:144] | Lalabitha fee batnihi ilayawmi yubAAathoona | للبث في بطنه إلى يوم يبعثون لَلَبِثَ فِي بَطْنِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تو اس (مچھلی) کے پیٹ میں اُس دن تک رہتے جب لوگ (قبروں سے) اٹھائے جائیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection.
| ||||||
| Words | |للبث - Certainly, he (would have) remained| في - in| بطنه - its belly| إلى - until| يوم - the Day| يبعثون - they are resurrected.| | ||||||
| 26. [37:146] | Waanbatna AAalayhi shajaratan minyaqteenin | وأنبتنا عليه شجرة من يقطين وَأَنبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے ان پر (کدّو کا) بیل دار درخت اُگا دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind.
| ||||||
| Words | |وأنبتنا - And We caused to grow| عليه - over him| شجرة - a plant| من - of| يقطين - gourd.| | ||||||
| 27. [37:147] | Waarsalnahu ila mi-ati alfinaw yazeedoona | وأرسلناه إلى مائة ألف أو يزيدون وَأَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَى مِئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور ہم نے انہیں (اَرضِ موصل میں قومِ نینوٰی کے) ایک لاکھ یا اس سے زیادہ افراد کی طرف بھیجا تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more.
| ||||||
| Words | |وأرسلناه - And We sent him| إلى - to| مائة - a hundred| ألف - thousand| أو - or| يزيدون - more.| | ||||||
| 28. [37:148] | Faamanoo famattaAAnahum ilaheenin | فآمنوا فمتعناهم إلى حين فَآمَنُوا فَمَتَّعْنَاهُمْ إِلَى حِينٍ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو (آثارِ عذاب کو دیکھ کر) وہ لوگ ایمان لائے تو ہم نے انہیں ایک وقت تک فائدہ پہنچایا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while.
| ||||||
| Words | |فآمنوا - And they believed,| فمتعناهم - so We gave them enjoyment| إلى - for| حين - a while.| | ||||||
| 29. [37:149] | Faistaftihim alirabbika albanatuwalahumu albanoona | فاستفتهم ألربك البنات ولهم البنون فَاسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ الْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ الْبَنُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس آپ اِن (کفّارِ مکّہ) سے پوچھئے کیا آپ کے رب کے لئے بیٹیاں ہیں اور ان کے لئے بیٹے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?-
| ||||||
| Words | |فاستفتهم - Then ask them,| ألربك - "Does your Lord| البنات - (have) daughters| ولهم - while for them| البنون - (are) sons?"| | ||||||
| 30. [37:152] | Walada Allahu wa-innahum lakathiboona | ولد الله وإنهم لكاذبون وَلَدَ اللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کہ اﷲ نے اولاد جنی، اور بیشک یہ لوگ جھوٹے ہیں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars!
| ||||||
| Words | |ولد - "Allah has begotten,"| الله - "Allah has begotten,"| وإنهم - and indeed, they| لكاذبون - surely (are) liars.| | ||||||
