| 1. [20:33] | Kay nusabbihaka katheeran |  كي نسبحك كثيراكَيْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيرًا | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us."

| Tahir ul Qadri | اور (اب) میں نے تمہیں اپنے (امرِ رسالت اور خصوصی انعام کے) لئے چن لیا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)"..

| 5. [20:93] | Alla tattabiAAani afaAAasaytaamree | ألا تتبعن أفعصيت أمري أَلَّا تَتَّبِعَنِ أَفَعَصَيْتَ أَمْرِي | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (مزید یہ کہ تمہیں کس نے منع کیا کہ انہیں سختی سے روکنے میں) تم میرے طریقے کی پیروی نہ کرو، کیا تم نے میری نافرمانی کی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "From following me? Didst thou then disobey my order?"

| 6. [20:25] | Qala rabbi ishrah lee sadree | قال رب اشرح لي صدري قَالَ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (موسٰی علیہ السلام نے) عرض کیا: اے میرے رب! میرے لئے میرا سینہ کشادہ فرما دے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast;

| Words | |قال - He said,| رب - "My Lord!| اشرح - Expand| لي - for me| صدري - my breast| | ||||||
| 7. [20:29] | WaijAAal lee wazeeran min ahlee | واجعل لي وزيرا من أهلي وَاجْعَل لِّي وَزِيرًا مِّنْ أَهْلِي | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور میرے گھر والوں میں سے میرا ایک وزیر بنا دے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "And give me a Minister from my family,
| ||||||
| Words | |واجعل - And appoint| لي - for me| وزيرا - a minister| من - from| أهلي - my family.| | ||||||
| 8. [20:36] | Qala qad ooteeta su/laka yamoosa | قال قد أوتيت سؤلك يا موسى قَالَ قَدْ أُوتِيتَ سُؤْلَكَ يَا مُوسَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (اللہ نے) ارشاد فرمایا: اے موسٰی! تمہاری ہر مانگ تمہیں عطا کردی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!"

| Words | |قال - He said,| قد - "Verily,| أوتيت - you are granted| سؤلك - your request,| يا - O| موسى - O Musa!| | ||||||
| 9. [20:37] | Walaqad mananna AAalayka marratanokhra | ولقد مننا عليك مرة أخرى وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَيْكَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے تم پر ایک اور بار (اس سے پہلے بھی) احسان فرمایا تھا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before).

| Words | |ولقد - And indeed,| مننا - We conferred a favor| عليك - on you| مرة - another time,| أخرى - another time,| | ||||||
| 10. [20:38] | Ith awhayna ilaommika ma yooha | إذ أوحينا إلى أمك ما يوحى إِذْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى أُمِّكَ مَا يُوحَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | جب ہم نے تمہاری والدہ کے دل میں وہ بات ڈال دی جو ڈالی گئی تھی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message:

| 11. [20:106] | Fayatharuha qaAAan safsafan | فيذرها قاعا صفصفا فَيَذَرُهَا قَاعًا صَفْصَفًا | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پھر اسے ہموار اور بے آب و گیاہ زمین بنا دے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "He will leave them as plains smooth and level;
| ||||||
| Words | |فيذرها - Then He will leave it,| قاعا - a level| صفصفا - plain.| | ||||||

[20:39] | Ani iqthifeehi fee alttabootifaiqthifeehi fee alyammi falyulqihi alyammu bialssahiliya/khuthhu AAaduwwun lee waAAaduwwun lahu waalqaytuAAalayka mahabbatan minnee walitusnaAAa AAalaAAaynee | أن اقذفيه في التابوت فاقذفيه في اليم فليلقه اليم بالساحل يأخذه عدو لي وعدو له وألقيت عليك محبة مني ولتصنع على عيني أَنِ اقْذِفِيهِ فِي التَّابُوتِ فَاقْذِفِيهِ فِي الْيَمِّ فَلْيُلْقِهِ الْيَمُّ بِالسَّاحِلِ يَأْخُذْهُ عَدُوٌّ لِّي وَعَدُوٌّ لَّهُ وَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةً مِّنِّي وَلِتُصْنَعَ عَلَى عَيْنِي | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | کہ تم اس (موسٰی علیہ السلام) کو صندوق میں رکھ دو پھر اس (صندوق) کو دریا میں ڈال دو پھر دریا اسے کنارے کے ساتھ آلگائے گا، اسے میرا دشمن اور اس کا دشمن اٹھا لے گا، اور میں نے تجھ پر اپنی جناب سے (خاص) محبت کا پرتَو ڈال دیا ہے (یعنی تیری صورت کو اس قدر پیاری اور من موہنی بنا دیا ہے کہ جو تجھے دیکھے گا فریفتہ ہو جائے گا)، اور (یہ اس لئے کیا) تاکہ تمہاری پرورش میری آنکھوں کے سامنے کی جائے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye.

| 13. [20:42] | Ithhab anta waakhooka bi-ayateewala taniya fee thikree | اذهب أنت وأخوك بآياتي ولا تنيا في ذكري اذْهَبْ أَنتَ وَأَخُوكَ بِآيَاتِي وَلَا تَنِيَا فِي ذِكْرِي | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تم اور تمہارا بھائی (ہارون) میری نشانیاں لے کر جاؤ اور میری یاد میں سستی نہ کرنا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance.

[20:40] | Ith tamshee okhtuka fataqoolu haladullukum AAala man yakfuluhu farajaAAnaka ilaommika kay taqarra AAaynuha wala tahzanawaqatalta nafsan fanajjaynaka mina alghammi wafatannakafutoonan falabithta sineena fee ahli madyana thumma ji/ta AAalaqadarin ya moosa | إذ تمشي أختك فتقول هل أدلكم على من يكفله فرجعناك إلى أمك كي تقر عينها ولا تحزن وقتلت نفسا فنجيناك من الغم وفتناك فتونا فلبثت سنين في أهل مدين ثم جئت على قدر يا موسى إِذْ تَمْشِي أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَن يَكْفُلُهُ فَرَجَعْنَاكَ إِلَى أُمِّكَ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنَاكَ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّاكَ فُتُونًا فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِي أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَى قَدَرٍ يَا مُوسَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور جب تمہاری بہن (اجنبی بن کر) چلتے چلتے (فرعون کے گھر والوں سے) کہنے لگی: کیا میں تمہیں کسی (ایسی عورت) کی نشاندہی کر دوں جو اس (بچہ) کی پرورش کر دے، پھر ہم نے تم کو تمہاری والدہ کی طرف (پرورش کے بہانے) واپس لوٹا دیا تاکہ اس کی آنکھ بھی ٹھنڈی ہوتی رہے اور وہ رنجیدہ بھی نہ ہو، اور تم نے (قومِ فرعون کے) ایک (کافر) شخص کو مار ڈالا تھا پھر ہم نے تمہیں (اس) غم سے (بھی) نجات بخشی اور ہم نے تمہیں بہت سی آزمائشوں سے گزار کر خوب جانچا، پھر تم کئی سال اہلِ مدین میں ٹھہرے رہے پھر تم (اللہ کے) مقرر کردہ وقت پر (یہاں) آگئے اے موسٰی! (اس وقت ان کی عمر ٹھیک چالیس برس ہوگئی تھی) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses!

| 15. [20:43] | Ithhaba ila firAAawnainnahu tagha | اذهبا إلى فرعون إنه طغى اذْهَبَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | تم دونوں فرعون کے پاس جاؤ بیشک وہ سرکشی میں حد سے گزر چکا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds;

| Words | |اذهبا - Go, both of you,| إلى - to| فرعون - Firaun.| إنه - Indeed, he| طغى - (has) transgressed.| | ||||||
| 16. [20:44] | Faqoola lahu qawlan layyinanlaAAallahu yatathakkaru aw yakhsha | فقولا له قولا لينا لعله يتذكر أو يخشى فَقُولَا لَهُ قَوْلًا لَّيِّنًا لَّعَلَّهُ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوْ يَخْشَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو تم دونوں اس سے نرم (انداز میں) گفتگو کرنا شاید وہ نصیحت قبول کر لے یا (میرے غضب سے) ڈرنے لگے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)."

| Words | |فقولا - And speak| له - to him| قولا - a word| لينا - gentle,| لعله - perhaps he| يتذكر - may take heed| أو - or| يخشى - fear."| | ||||||
| 17. [20:45] | Qala rabbana innananakhafu an yafruta AAalayna aw an yatgha | قالا ربنا إننا نخاف أن يفرط علينا أو أن يطغى قَالَا رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَن يَفْرُطَ عَلَيْنَا أَوْ أَن يَطْغَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | دونوں نے عرض کیا: اے ہمارے رب! بیشک ہمیں اندیشہ ہے کہ وہ ہم پر زیادتی کرے (گا) یا (زیادہ) سرکش ہوجائے (گا) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds."

| Words | |قالا - They said,| ربنا - "Our Lord!| إننا - Indeed, we| نخاف - fear| أن - that| يفرط - he will hasten| علينا - against us| أو - or| أن - that| يطغى - he will transgress."| | ||||||
| 18. [20:46] | Qala la takhafainnanee maAAakuma asmaAAu waara | قال لا تخافا إنني معكما أسمع وأرى قَالَ لَا تَخَافَا إِنَّنِي مَعَكُمَا أَسْمَعُ وَأَرَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | ارشاد فرمایا: تم دونوں نہ ڈرو بیشک میں تم دونوں کے ساتھ ہوں میں (سب کچھ) سنتا اور دیکھتا ہوں | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything).

[20:47] | Fa/tiyahu faqoola innarasoola rabbika faarsil maAAana banee isra-eelawala tuAAaththibhum qad ji/naka bi-ayatinmin rabbika waalssalamu AAala mani ittabaAAaalhuda | فأتياه فقولا إنا رسولا ربك فأرسل معنا بني إسرائيل ولا تعذبهم قد جئناك بآية من ربك والسلام على من اتبع الهدى فَأْتِيَاهُ فَقُولَا إِنَّا رَسُولَا رَبِّكَ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْهُمْ قَدْ جِئْنَاكَ بِآيَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | پس تم دونوں اس کے پاس جاؤ اور کہو: ہم تیرے رب کے بھیجے ہوئے (رسول) ہیں سو تو بنی اسرائیل کو (اپنی غلامی سے آزاد کرکے) ہمارے ساتھ بھیج دے اور انہیں (مزید) اذیت نہ پہنچا، بیشک ہم تیرے پاس تیرے رب کی طرف سے نشانی لے کر آئے ہیں، اور اس شخص پر سلامتی ہو جس نے ہدایت کی پیروی کی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance!

| Words | |فأتياه - So go to him| فقولا - and say,| إنا - "Indeed, we| رسولا - both (are) Messengers| ربك - (of) your Lord,| فأرسل - so send| معنا - with us| بني - (the) Children of Israel,| إسرائيل - (the) Children of Israel,| ولا - and (do) not| تعذبهم - torment them.| قد - Verily,| جئناك - we came to you| بآية - with a Sign| من - from| ربك - your Lord.| والسلام - And peace| على - on| من - (one) who| اتبع - follows| الهدى - the Guidance.| | ||||||
| 20. [20:48] | Inna qad oohiya ilaynaanna alAAathaba AAala man kaththaba watawalla | إنا قد أوحي إلينا أن العذاب على من كذب وتولى إِنَّا قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْنَا أَنَّ الْعَذَابَ عَلَى مَن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | بیشک ہماری طرف وحی بھیجی گئی ہے کہ عذاب (ہر) اس شخص پر ہوگا جو (رسول کو) جھٹلائے گا اور (اس سے) منہ پھیر لے گا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'"

| 21. [20:49] | Qala faman rabbukuma yamoosa | قال فمن ربكما يا موسى قَالَ فَمَن رَّبُّكُمَا يَا مُوسَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (فرعون نے) کہا: تو اے موسٰی! تم دونوں کا رب کون ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?"

| Words | |قال - He said,| فمن - "Then who| ربكما - (is) your Lord,| يا - O| موسى - O Musa?"| | ||||||
| 22. [20:50] | Qala rabbuna allatheeaAAta kulla shay-in khalqahu thumma hada | قال ربنا الذي أعطى كل شيء خلقه ثم هدى قَالَ رَبُّنَا الَّذِي أَعْطَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلْقَهُ ثُمَّ هَدَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (موسٰی علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: ہمارا رب وہی ہے جس نے ہر چیز کو (اس کے لائق) وجود بخشا پھر (اس کے حسبِ حال) اس کی رہنمائی کی | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance."

| 23. [20:51] | Qala fama balualqurooni al-oola | قال فما بال القرون الأولى قَالَ فَمَا بَالُ الْقُرُونِ الْأُولَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (فرعون نے) کہا: تو (ان) پہلی قوموں کا کیا حال ہوا (جو تمہارے رب کو نہیں مانتی تھیں) | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?"

| Words | |قال - He said,| فما - "Then what| بال - (is the) case| القرون - (of) the generations| الأولى - (of) the former."| | ||||||
| 24. [20:52] | Qala AAilmuha AAinda rabbeefee kitabin la yadillu rabbee walayansa | قال علمها عند ربي في كتاب لا يضل ربي ولا ينسى قَالَ عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّي فِي كِتَابٍ لَّا يَضِلُّ رَبِّي وَلَا يَنسَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (موسٰی علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: ان کا علم میرے رب کے پاس کتاب میں (محفوظ) ہے، نہ میرا رب بھٹکتا ہے اور نہ بھولتا ہے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,-

| Words | |قال - He said,| علمها - "Its knowledge| عند - (is) with| ربي - my Lord,| في - in| كتاب - a Record.| لا - Not| يضل - errs| ربي - my Lord| ولا - and not| ينسى - forgets."| | ||||||

[20:53] | Allathee jaAAala lakumu al-ardamahdan wasalaka lakum feeha subulan waanzala mina alssama-imaan faakhrajna bihi azwajan min nabatinshatta | الذي جعل لكم الأرض مهدا وسلك لكم فيها سبلا وأنزل من السماء ماء فأخرجنا به أزواجا من نبات شتى الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَسَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّن نَّبَاتٍ شَتَّى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | وہی ہے جس نے زمین کو تمہارے رہنے کی جگہ بنایا اور اس میں تمہارے (سفر کرنے کے) لئے راستے بنائے اور آسمان کی جانب سے پانی اتارا، پھر ہم نے اس (پانی) کے ذریعے (زمین سے) انواع و اقسام کی نباتات کے جوڑے نکال دیئے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others.

| 26. [20:54] | Kuloo wairAAaw anAAamakum innafee thalika laayatin li-olee alnnuha | كلوا وارعوا أنعامكم إن في ذلك لآيات لأولي النهى كُلُوا وَارْعَوْا أَنْعَامَكُمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُوْلِي النُّهَى | |||||

| Yousuf Ali | Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding.

| Words | |كلوا - Eat| وارعوا - and pasture| أنعامكم - your cattle.| إن - Indeed,| في - in| ذلك - that,| لآيات - surely (are) Signs| لأولي - for possessors| النهى - (of) intelligence.| | ||||||
| 27. [20:55] | Minha khalaqnakum wafeehanuAAeedukum waminha nukhrijukum taratan okhra | منها خلقناكم وفيها نعيدكم ومنها نخرجكم تارة أخرى مِنْهَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ وَفِيهَا نُعِيدُكُمْ وَمِنْهَا نُخْرِجُكُمْ تَارَةً أُخْرَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | (زمین کی) اسی (مٹی) سے ہم نے تمہیں پیدا کیا اور اسی میں ہم تمہیں لوٹائیں گے اور اسی سے ہم تمہیں دوسری مرتبہ (پھر) نکالیں گے | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | From the (earth) did We create you, and into it shall We return you, and from it shall We bring you out once again.

| Words | |منها - From it| خلقناكم - We created you,| وفيها - and in it| نعيدكم - We will return you,| ومنها - and from it| نخرجكم - We will bring you out,| تارة - time| أخرى - another.| | ||||||
| 28. [20:56] | Walaqad araynahu ayatinakullaha fakaththaba waaba | ولقد أريناه آياتنا كلها فكذب وأبى وَلَقَدْ أَرَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا كُلَّهَا فَكَذَّبَ وَأَبَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اور بیشک ہم نے اس (فرعون) کو اپنی ساری نشانیاں (جو موسٰی اور ہارون علیھما السلام کو دی گئی تھیں) دکھائیں مگر اس نے جھٹلایا اور (ماننے سے) انکار کر دیا | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | And We showed Pharaoh all Our Signs, but he did reject and refuse.

| Words | |ولقد - And verily,| أريناه - We showed him| آياتنا - Our Signs,| كلها - all of them,| فكذب - but he denied| وأبى - and refused.| | ||||||
| 29. [20:57] | Qala aji/tana litukhrijanamin ardina bisihrika ya moosa | قال أجئتنا لتخرجنا من أرضنا بسحرك يا موسى قَالَ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتُخْرِجَنَا مِنْ أَرْضِنَا بِسِحْرِكَ يَا مُوسَى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | اس نے کہا: اے موسٰی! کیا تم ہمارے پاس اس لئے آئے ہو کہ تم اپنے جادو کے ذریعہ ہمیں ہمارے ملک سے نکال دو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | He said: "Hast thou come to drive us out of our land with thy magic, O Moses?

| Words | |قال - He said,| أجئتنا - "Have you come to us| لتخرجنا - to drive us out| من - of| أرضنا - our land| بسحرك - with your magic,| يا - O| موسى - O Musa?| | ||||||
| 30. [20:58] | Falana/tiyannaka bisihrin mithlihi faijAAalbaynana wabaynaka mawAAidan la nukhlifuhu nahnuwala anta makanan suwan | فلنأتينك بسحر مثله فاجعل بيننا وبينك موعدا لا نخلفه نحن ولا أنت مكانا سوى فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّكَ بِسِحْرٍ مِّثْلِهِ فَاجْعَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّا نُخْلِفُهُ نَحْنُ وَلَا أَنتَ مَكَانًا سُوًى | |||||
| Tahir ul Qadri | سو ہم بھی تمہارے پاس اسی کی مانند جادو لائیں گے تم ہمارے اور اپنے درمیان (مقابلہ کے لئے) وعدہ طے کرلو جس کی خلاف ورزی نہ ہم کریں اور نہ ہی تم، (مقابلہ کی جگہ) کھلا اور ہموار میدان ہو | ||||||
| Yousuf Ali | "But we can surely produce magic to match thine! So make a tryst between us and thee, which we shall not fail to keep - neither we nor thou - in a place where both shall have even chances."

| Words | |فلنأتينك - Then we will surely produce for you| بسحر - magic| مثله - like it.| فاجعل - So make| بيننا - between us| وبينك - and between you| موعدا - an appointment,| لا - not| نخلفه - we will fail it| نحن - [we]| ولا - and not| أنت - you,| مكانا - (in) a place| سوى - even."| | ||||||
